Vote CARS drive size recommended?

Hi gurus RAC
What is the record of voting size recommended?
I have to do an appropriate size, so when I back up using the dd command, it take very long

Am I missing something? , can I create a very large, say 10G and only save the part used

Thanks for help

Just to add to what Daniel said (and beware of what he says - it's all things of crucial importance when it comes CARS).

Recommended sizes are different between versions of Oracle. Tip: read Oracle® Database 2 day Real Application Clusters Guide for the appropriate version and pay special attention to Chapter 2 Treaty of the preparation of the cluster, which provides recommended sizes.

How to change permission vote drive. The permissions and ownership of roc and permanent voting record, even after rebooting.

    Kind regards

Oracle: dba, no root: disk should belong to disks used by Oracle (including the voting disk, OCR and data).

Follow these steps on both nodes:

-as root, stop the clusterware (if nothing left alive to it): crsctl stop crs f
-identify the disks used by Oracle and the owner of oracle: dba: chown oracle: dba Envoy
-then start the clusterware: crsctl start crs

There are many ways to make permanent permission settings, depending on your storage configuration.
The simplest (and dirtiest) way I use on virtual machines is to add "chown oracle: dba Envoy ' in /etc/rc.local
The best way is to set permissions with udev, or storage configuration itself if its possible with the method used.

  • Oracle 12 c Grid Infrastructure OCR VOTE the disk size

I'm installing network infrastructure Oracle 12 c 12.1.0.2 and notice the possibility of installing grid infrastructure repository disappeared, which means he needs space in the disc ocr/vote.

I have two node RAC on linux 6.5. What is the best practice on decinding the size of this drive oct/vote?

    Thank you

This blog entry, it explains a little bit:

    https://blogs.Oracle.com/upgrade/entry/grid_infrastructure_management_repository_gimr

Notice that the ball 'average growth size' will give you how to calculate db IWM needs. As a general rule, unless you have a large number of nodes in the cluster, 10 GB should be enough.

  • Customization of file exchange: what is the initial and maximum size recommended?

    Hi everyone and hurt.

After response of harm to my question on how to install diskettes, evil said:

"allocation of disk: is a three step process, first of all, you set the boot order in the BIOS, then you format the windows disks and assign drive letters, then again Windows you set up for the swap file." Then the allocation of media preview cache, project etc. is made in preferences, and setting up a PR project."

and I have a question about the pagefile.

First of all, let me tell you describe my new machine, there a configuration to 4 disks, no RAID, 16 GB RAM, with OCZ Vertex3 for programs and the OS, which I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on this disc, Web Premium CS5, and Acrobat 9 Pro. In the BIOS, I did drive OCZ (OS), be the priority in the boot order.

Later, after checking the system is functioning, I'll upgrade to Classic Collection CS5.5, so at this point, I named my 3 expansion packs to this title.

    WDC WD 2002FAEX-007BA0 - "Media Projects (D).
WDC WD 1002FAEX-00Y9A0 - "Swap file, media Cache (E)"
    WDC WD 1002FAEX-00Y9A0 - 'previews, Exports (F).

Then, because now they are simply names I gave on different drives, and I'm trying to change the paging file, switching happens in the disc of the operating system, in order to arrive in the disk that will be designated for media Cache (by the Prime Minister, subsequently).

Thus, in the performance of Windows Options pane, I went to the Advanced tab, and under virtual memory, I hit 'change', uncheck automatically manage file size exchange for all readers, select drive E, which is the drive that is having the pagefile to happen there.

And the question, assuming that I'm supposed to select custom, size can harm you, or / and others, please recommend the initial and maximum size?

Alternatively, I have to select "system managed size"?

    Thanks :)

    Minimum,.

Where you put the pagefile just does that much of difference, when you have 16 GB (as you do) and 24 GB still less so (as the user in the other thread).

If I had your material, I put on E: and make static at 16 GB min and max 16GB (bad suggests same size).

I don't spend more time reading or to dwell on "static pagefile" However unless you want to purely for fun.

When you have enough RAM that your applications require no more you have, Windows must either ask for a large part of this file. Ten years when the RAM chips were much smaller and the cost per GB was more expensive that now, details of page file were indeed more important than they are today.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - new partition after Exchange of HARD drive sizes

Under 'Vista' with a 120 GB hard drive and needs space.

Bought a 500 GB SATA drive. I'm afraid that the recovery software will set the new drive with a 50-50 Partition. This is the case or it will allocate 50 GB to E: / and the rest to C: /?

As the manual States that if I change the size of the partition the recovery software will not re - install in the future?

    Hello

As I know the Toshiba Recovery disk always allocates 50% disk space for each partition. This means that the 500 GB drive you have two partitions with ~ 250 GB of disk space on each partition.
If not or you want to change something, you can use the Windows disk management tool:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7101OB0006R01.htm

I think the manual means that you can use t more the procedure for recovery of HARD disk if you change the size of the partition.
But with the Toshiba disk recovery you are on the safe side and so you can always restore the factory settings every time. :)

What are the parameters for search? I can just about any 2.5 "SATA II SSD on the market?
    Intel X 25 - M Mainstream SATA SSD 160 GB G2 is compatible?
    Are there recommendations for Toshiba?

    Thank you!

    Hello

    A100 controller SATA HDD support.
Generally, it should be possible to use the laptop as part of a SATA SSD drive.
But I also read that not all laptops can properly manage the SSD drive.
In some cases the SSD update the firmware of the player might help.
So I can't say with certainty that the new SSD will work properly and that the BIOS would properly recognize the SSD.
I think you'll need to test the SSD drive
You could order it on Amazon and could test, in the worst case you could send again
I did it too with some RAM modules that didn t work in my notebook.

Please post some details if these updates succeeded or not, it would be interesting to know if you can use it in your A100 because I would use a SSD drive too

  • Help a fool please ~ deleted partition, lost the hard drive size

I'll try my best to make this as clear as possible, thank you for your time...

Received my free copy of windows 7 home Premium

Wanted a clean install (not an upgrade)

Back up all the data and the programs that I installed

During the installation of win 7, I deleted the recovery of the system partition and the 2nd partition of my HARD disk (has been labeled d, came that sort of lenovo factory, had 70 GB size I think)

I thought that if I deleted the partition of the hard drive space would be added to the 1st partition and it did not

Have materialized with the installation of win 7, and now I just have never found my C: and the GBs of the 2nd old partition so its as if I lowered my total HARD disk size

How can I get my C: to have all of the 320 GB? Thanks for any advice!

You can allocate the unused disk space as follows.

    Start > run > diskmgmt.msc

Right-click on the Windows partition [should be C] and click on "expand". Extend partition as needed and enjoy.

Or should I take an old hard drive for example from an old computer, which has the corresponding size.

    Thank you

    Hi zial24,

LV in real-time is not supported RAID.

We studied actually add RAID in LabVIEW Real-time several times, but the question that comes up every time is that most RAID controllers are owners and require the development of drivers for each of them, otherwise we would have to apply or our own solutions software RAID mainly only the port.  We prefer to work with a single hardware RAID where the RAID controller would manage disks and provide an interface of type SATA usable by the operating system.  Offers of products that we (as in NOR) for PXI include PXI-8260, but this product is a software management JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) and isn't really a "RAID", since there is no fault tolerance (e.g. mirroring, parity, etc...).  Additional offers in the PXI-8162/3/4/5 require an external rack mount configuration, but are still software RAID0 configuration, not better than JBOD RAID except that they take over striping without parity (which is almost impossible to recover from if a disk fails).
