    Hello

Your problem is with Android L2TP/IPsec client that connects to the AAS has been caused by: CSCug60492 (Android phone disconnected from l2tpoveripsec and reconnect asa hung)

It is Android actually issue, not a bug of the SAA. This resolution is based on Android.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you

  • VPN L2TP does not / / Android 4.4.3

My vpn connection does not work.

The installer is: L2TP/IPSec with PSK in my network private.

Given that my old phone (Xperia S), located on android 4.3.X, still works
I see no problem of configuration, but I guess that it is a problem with android 4.4.X

The same problem occurs on my sony tablet z since the update to 4.4.X

Is there any fix from sony?

I read on a google fix, that should be in place on the 4.4.4, version but updated for 4.4.4 on the
Tablet does not solve this problem.

We got a test account of another user with this issue and have found the cause of this. It will be fixed in a future software update.

  • PPTP VPN or IPSEC for Android and iPAD

Being new on the RV180 (and routers VPN besides) I had trouble getting a VPN's, supporting my iPad and Android devices. However, I understand that an IPSEC connection would be a safer sollution. Unfortunately I can't find a clear statement anywhere to do it.

I found descriptions/parameters in the different RV180 of the setting of the (few) in mobile platforms. So far not managed to get the installation program.

Little help to start would be great!

    Thank you very much.

    Ronald

    Hello Robert.

My name is Chris and I work at the Cisco Small Business Support Center.

The PPTP option will be much easier to install, and most devices have a built-in capability of PPTP.

The RV180 supports the IPSEC tunnels, but only for links from site to site or a remote user with the client software.  Some of the other features of our support SSL VPN connections, which would allow you to use the Cisco Anyconnect client available for android, but SSL VPN is not a characteristic of the RV180.

On my Android (Droid X running Android 2.3.4) phone he built in VPN, IPSEC and PPTP client.  Yours is probably as well, but if not there should be a few apps available.

If you decide to go with PPTP you can configure it like this on the RV180:

    1. go to the router admin page and click on VPN > IPsec > VPN users.

    2. check the box to enable the PPTP server.

    3. complete the range of internal addresses for your customers to use PPTP (192.168.1.200 - 192.168.1.210 for example)

    4. click on save.

    5. Once you click on save, you should be able to edit the table of parameters of VPN client.

    6. click on add, check enabled, enter a user name and password for the PPTP user to use and for the protocol type, select PPTP.

    7. click Save to add the user.

Once this is done, you should be able to go into the settings on your Android device and add a VPN for PPTP connection.   Fill in the same information you setup of the RV180 and you should be able to connect.

The server address will be the WAN IP of your RV180.

As far as IPSEC goes, the process is similar but a little more complicated.

    1. on the router admin page go to VPN > IPsec > Basic VPN configuration.

    2. choose the VPN client for peer type.

    3. name connection (it is used on the router)

    4. choose a pre-shared key to be used with this connection.

    5. for remote WAN IP address, you can leave the default remote.com

    6. for the Local gateway Type, you'll want to choose IP

    7. to Local WAN IP select IP and enter the IP address of the RV180 (WAN IP)

    8. for LAN Local, enter the local network for the RV180 ID (default is 192.168.1.0)

    9. to the Local LAN subnet mask enter 255.255.255.0

    10. click on save.

The steps above create a VPN IPSec tunnel using the default values of the router, which you can view by clicking on default settings under VPN > IPSEC.

Now you just set your phone.  On my phone, I have an option for Advanced IPSEC VPN, but yours may be different, or you may need to use an application like a customer, if your phone does not have built-in IPSEC VPN.

On my Droid X, I want to go wireless and networks, VPN settings, Advanced IPSEC VPN, add a new virtual private network.

My phone uses models of connection, so be sure to choose one that fits your tunnel on the RV180 parameters.

Enter the RV180 WAN IP address as the VPN server, as well as the pre-shared key, install you on the RV180.

Make sure that all connection settings that you have configured on the RV180.

You will also be asked for an internal subnet IP address, and for this, you must enter the Local LAN and subnet mask, that you configured on the RV180 in steps 8 and 9 above.

I wish I could be more specific, but it seems that there are several different menus and options depending on what Android phone using your.

I hope that this helps, but if not feel free to respond and I'll try to explain.

  • IP Phone/Android IPSEC VPN to ASA using AnyConnect

  • Client VPN CISCO ASA for Android

    Hi guys

I just received a request from a client who said he expects the procedure to establish a VPN from an Android device, as far as I know there is a soft ANYCONNECT but in my case, the client uses a CISCO VPN CLIENT, in this case it is possible to configure a VPN connection on the device, or I should use ANYCONNECT?

    Kind regards.

Connection via the android client will be like the legacy cisco VPN client connection. You need only anyconnect mobile licenses if you connect with the android anyconnect client.  Using the android client built in will consume licenses peer IPSEC. If no additional license not required.

  • Connect an android tablet to IPsec VPN

The company that I work uses a router Cisco ASA 5510. We have currently a set IPsec VPN in place and useres connect through the VPN Ciso client using Group authentication, then he is invited for a user name and password and use the same username/password with which they log their work computers. Some users have recently got Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tablet and wish to connect to the VPN using these tablets, but I can't figure out how to get the pills to work. I tried the app for the Android market as well as anyconnect to create a VPN in the Tablet Settings page, but no luck so be it. Maybe, I'm not in a right frame? One had luck getting andriod tablet to connect to a VPN Cisoc?

    Thank you

    Hello

This has been discussed rececntly here and I'm sure Atri wrote an article how to connect the Andorid devices to ASA on l2tp over IPsec:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/docs/doc-17798

Just the need of version on the SAA.

Mind also that your ASA will need to connect Anyconnect on mobile platforms to ASA 'mobile anyconnect' license.

  • I can connect my Android device on my Outlook account but not with Thunderbird. What do need me for Thunderbird to connect to an Outlook account?

At the office, I have Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 is installed. My PC connects to an area of the company that runs on Microsoft Windows Server 2008. I use Thunderbird on my laptop to connect to my Outlook account. How can I do this?

In view of the fact that they appear to be a Windows-using exclusively organization, it is most likely they use MS Exchange.

Thunderbird uses Internet POP, IMAP and SMTP standards. MS Exchange can use these but the admin has failed them. It is possible that your e-mail client Android has the possibility of using a Microsoft proprietary protocols to work with Exchange.

If standard protocols are not available, you can use the Davmail modules or Exquilla in Thunderbird so that it can appear to be an Exchange-compatible e-mail client. I use Davmail successfully on my place of work.

Keep in mind that if they do not POP etc., it is unlikely that they will allow external connections to internal e-mail accounts. The usual ways to allow such connections are VPN or OWA.

  • AC100 - no VPN L2TP/IPSec PSK available

Android 2.2 (Froyo) devices show for VPN connections the following possibilities: PPTP, L2TP, PSK L2TP/IPSec and L2TP/IPSec CRT (checked on several brands of smartphones).

The AC100 appears only from any PPTP and L2TP, so not L2TP/IPSec.

No idea why they are missing, and how to fix this?

Need for L2TP/IPSec to a VPN with a Sonicwall 3060/Pro.

Here is a description how to connect: [https://www.fuzeqna.com/sonicwallkb/consumer/kbdetail.asp?kbid=8658]

    Hello

AFAIK the L2TP/IPSec is only available for android devices routed.

So maybe it's the reason why the L2TP/IPSec in unavailable for AC100.

  • R7800 cannot see shared folders SMB VPN

    Hello

I started to use VPN on the R7800 service, and I can use Remote Desktop connection Microsoft 9.3 iOS app to connect to my computer at home (8.1 Windows) through the internet, as if I was on the LAN (192.168.1.2). However, the apps that read SMB shared folders do not detect them (BREW 4 pro). Similarly, on my Nexus 6 p, solid explore cannot open shared folders when connected via VPN. Is it possible to read SMB from Windows shared folders remotely via VPN on the R7800?

I tried to ping 192.168.1.2 too from my iPad and there is no answer. When I ping my Android devices, however they respond. But, again, RDP to this computer works, so I don't know what is happening, someone with more knowledge can help?

Please verify ICMP and SMB service on your PC. If it is on the local subnet change it to EVERYTHING.

  • What would be the advantage to implement a vpn secretly on your partner's mobile phone?

I found a set vpn in place on my android last night.  I did not put there, but I think I know who did.  Why is - that someone would install a vpn on another mobile phone?  I recently bought this laptop compaq from the same person and support cox could not believe how much malware was on it.  This person sly connects to my pc or perhaps his own through a vpn on MY cell phone while I'm SLEEPING?

Details of this issue: I've only known this person for a few months and we are dating.  For me, it has proven that he can really trust,

especially when it comes to "all technical" esp  computers and cell phones.  He is 10 years younger and knows that I'm a little late

We can not help you with your personal problems.

But when you buy a second hand laptop you always have to reinstall the operating system, due to the possibility of malicious programs and the fact that you never know exactly what the phone has been used for.
