VPN-block end-of-life operating systems

Is it possible to configure the client AnyConnect or ASA to block some operating systems? End of support for Windows XP is April 8th and we want to deny Windows XP after the end of support date. Thanks in advance.

You can use the HostScan function for this. But this requires AnyConnect Premium and will not work with AnyConnect Essentials.

  • The guest operating system block size

    Hello

Although guset OS block size is determined by the ESX Server, is it possible to change the size of the blocks by each guest operating system?

I installed ESX4.0 and 3 both guest OS.

but I would like to change the size of the block!

    My shared storage is NetApp.

I also have a vCenter as a virtual machine.

    Thank you!

You can change the size of the block of the partitions for your computer virtual guests. When you format a partition in your guest virtual computer, you have the choice to be formatted for example 4K, 32K or 64K. You will want to choose a number so that the partitions are lined up along 128 K. I think that you can choose the 32, 64, or 128 K. This applies to your data since the boot partition partitions have to be aligned.

  • Client operating system VPN requirements

    Hi all

Does anyone know of any problems with the help of Win98 and WinME to vpn in a pix? I have XP and 2K connection and works well, but whenever I use 98 or ME, the tunnel just sits there on "Contact the security gateway" and eventually times out. I would be there compared to not having the password correct or similar. I know that the details are 100% correct about the customers.

My config works for 2000 and XP machines so it must be (I assume) based operating system?

The pix has 6.3.3 software and I tried to recharge one of the ME machines of costs with all updates from MS with no difference in the result.

Any assistance received with joy and thank you for your time.

    see you soon

Edit: Sorry - I tried customer 4.0.3.F more the last customer base 3. (and yes I realize and 98 are not the best choice of operating system but then I unfortunately can't change that)

    see you soon

    Hello!

Try adding a few new isakmp policies, eventually the customer and the PIX will manage negotiate the appropriate settings for the connection, because they can be dynamically negotiated by both.

Select the LOG option in the client.

Try to do some debugging if posible. Before debugging make sure your CPU usage is low with

  • End of sale (EoS) / end of life (EoL) information on Cisco TelePresence system 1700 MXP

I have a question about the EoL (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collaboration-endpoints/eos-eol-po...) policy and the announcement of EoS/EoL Cisco TelePresence system 1700 MXP (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints...).

According to the policy of the EoL, paragraph 4 ter, "after the first year and for the operating system SW - if available - we will offer bug fixes, versions of maintenance, workarounds or patches for a period of 4 years for operating system software."  Therefore, it is 5 years after the Date of the EoS, which could make the OS support close on 28/02/2017 EoL products.  I'm one to believe that a product and its applicable operating system are good as long as the company provides patches for bugs/flaws.

My question is about the migration of the product suggestions.  The suggestion is to "migrate to the Cisco EX Series (the EX60 or solution EX90) telepresence system."  However, when the announcement of EoS/EoL EX60 inspection, the "SW maintenance communicated End Date of: HW, SW OS ' 06 07, 2016.  Note that it is not the end of Maintenance SW verbiage in 1700 MXP EoS/EoL announcement.  I'm under the assumption that the new product within OS support only one model exceeded?  Why anyone would follow the suggested migration if I get fewer months support OS than an older model?  Should I go out of date on the announcement of the EoS/EoL, or use the 5-year rule as shown in the end of life policy.

If I am interpreting this wrong, please do not hesitate to correct me.  I am trying to understand the explicit verbiage in the end of life and ads EoS/EoL policy.

As the 1700 MXP announcement was published in 2011, at that time, the EX60/90 was a legitimate substitute. However years later, endpoints EX Series are now EOS, you should look at alternatives for the EX series instead.

The announcement of the EOS/EOL indicates a date of end of software support, you should go there. The reason that ad 1700 MXP does not list one could be that the date of assumption of the software had already spent or they simply don't have the list at the time. Looking at the latest version of the software for the 1700 MXP, it's F9.3.3 in 2014, I highly doubt, there will be another, but you never know given that other points of MXP endpoints that are not past their published end date of software support.

  • End of life programs remove the D drive which is the system restore partition

I am running Win Vista Home addition.  I downloaded and installed PowerPoint Viewer 2007.  Now, when I scan with Secunia I get a message that I have an end of life program, 2003 PPV, in my D drive system restore file.  How can I remove an obsolete program from drive D?

Sorry, but it does not work.  Drive D is partition of the hard disk system restore.  I tried everything to get there, and that cannot be done.

It may be worth mentioning that I ran a Windows search for files and folders looking for power pint Viewer 2003.  I've included the D drive in the search.  I got a recovery that the file is not found.

I finally opted for another suggestion and Secunia to ignore this file.  Now, everything seems to be okay.

Thanks for the suggestions which are appreciated regardless of the outcome.

  • If I use the SSD to initiate the operating system and a hard disk of data what exactly will be the benefit of this end?

    Hello

I would like to know if I use the SSD drive for the operating system boot and a hard drive for data. What will be the benefit of this effect,

I know that SSDS starts much more quickly and reads and writes data faster.

When I use the SSD for OS then my only wil advantage so I have faster from the OS, not more than

but the reading and writing data wil either by the hard drive so I wil not use all the benefits of the SSD, data wil be read and written by hard drive!

    Am I right or wrong?

    Johan

SSD benefits for most of the time of loading, and it is for all software. If you install Windows on a SSD and return to a HARD drive after a few weeks you will certainly appreciate the value of an SSD, just for the

    only the loading.

While startup in Windows is the most obvious, the Windows advantage is usually a bit snappier

    on an SSD.

An SSD expected to also help in many programs such as Photoshop, video editing, the processing speeds

or CAD, due to data being created during the writing of these programs.

I think the reads and writes more visible with large files.

All my programs are on the SSD, but my games are on the HARD disk.

Games to load a large number of data and will load faster on an SSD, but it's still a few seconds.

and as games use a lot of Go, it is not really profitable to keep (150 +) on an SSD.

-J' I keep most of my data, except the music (to save space) in my user folder, but haven't really

noticed a difference in speed when opening a data file, such as a Word, PDF, images, or similar

'small' files from the HARD drive.
-I wouldn't take an SSD less 120 GB. Try to run Windows on a 60GB translate too

stuffing autour with management of data between the SSD and HDD. In particular, as it should be

keep 20% an SSD free to allow the two "garbage collection" and deliver a load of

cells of extra memory to extend the life of the DSS (data gets moved to empty cells when the cells die).

There is also a noticeable difference between the speeds of SATA2 and SATA 3 controller, so if your motherboard uses the SATA2 more the advantage of an SSD is not as great as with SATA3.

In addition, the new SATA3 SSD controllers are faster than those of two years ago.

SSD is a big enough topic. There are many items in the wild that may be useful.

    Hi John,.

Please specify if you have purchased DC Acrobat or Acrobat 11 or upgrade you to the latest patch for Acrobat 11, that is to say 11.0.11 so that we can help you accordingly.

I wonder if you have checked your system requirements before you download Acrobat.

  • I let someone use my computer and somehow they ended up formatting my hard drive, so now I have no operating system. If windows are not coming how can I fix.

I let someone use my computer and somehow they formatted my computer, s he always tells me to run the Startup Repair, but it won't let me. Someone knows how to fix this?

Your best option is to try to reinstall Windows 7:

    If Windows 7 is pre-installed:

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.
    ------------------------------------
This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...
For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

If you have a retail copy of Windows 7 installed, use your reinstallation disk to perform a new installation:
