VPN license

Hello

We design a solution for our client, they plan to connect 5 site to their main office, on the main office, they use CISCO2911, use of branch CISCO1921, so my question is:

1, if I want to use IPSec VPN connect branch and headquarters, apart from the router, I just need to buy the security package, like SL-19-SEC-K9/SL-29-SEC-K9, no need to buy a SL-19-DATA-K9/SL-29-DATA-K9, I'm wrong?

2, if I want to use SSL VPN connect branch and main office, aprt of the router and SL-19-SEC-K9/SL-29-SEC-K9, I only need to buy L-FL-SSLVPN10-K9 for CISCO2911 in the main office, no need to buy L-FL-SSLVPN10-K9 for branch as each CISCO1921 has two default SSL license?

Thank you very much.

1. Yes, you are right. You can only buy the security for IPSec VPN pack, that is to say: SL-19-SEC-K9/SL-29-SEC-K9 to the branches and principal respectively.

2. No, if you want SSL VPN to CISCO1921, you also buy the SSL VPN license as on the router it does not come with the default 2 license SSL value. That the ASA firewall comes with license SSL by default 2. If you need complete SSL VPN on the Cisco1921, you can also buy the SSL license.

You can see table 4 on the SSL licence by platform:

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/iosswrel/ps6537/ps6586/ps6657/product_data_sheet0900aecd80405e25.html

Hope that helps.

    Hi all.

Our ASA 5505 with DATABASE default license allowing only 10 simultaneous vpn sessions (including 2 Anyconnect + IPsec). attached a TXT file with the license information. This Firewall is's use only for vpn access, and we less vpn tunnel vpn IPSec-L2L, anyconnect client SSL and IPSec client access configurations vpn to the top and race walk,.

    We are in terms of upgrading vpn license to archive IPSec 10 and 10 Anyconnect and 1 anyconect mobile VPN sessions in time. so my questions are;

    1. can I buy "ASA5500-SSL-10 =" accounting and to upgrade our ASA 5505 without having to buy "L-ASA5505-SEC-PL =" license of pus of security.

    2. asa use to upgrade only Anyconnect SSL vpn license while keeping 10 vpn IPSec comes with the base license.

    1. Yes.

    2.Yes.

If you want to keep Clientless SSL VPN you do not want to continue with the addition of the ASA5500-SSL-10 = part. If you can do without client (including the conversion the two existing ones), more economically, you can opt for Security Plus and AnyConnect Essentials licenses. (US$ 800 vs price $1250).

In both cases, the Mobile requires the AnyConnect Mobile (ASA-AC-M-5505) license.

  • Moving from SSL VPN licenses to other ASA

    Hello

Be gentle, it's my first post.  We currently have an ASA 5520 with 25 remost SSL VPN licenses.  We have also some 5510's unused.  Anyone know if the SSL licenses are transferable to the 5510 unused to the 5520 to increase the amount that the 5520 has?

    Thank you

    Alistair

Unfortunately the licenses are not transferable to one ASA to another.

Here is the URL for your reference:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ASA/asa82/license/license82.html#wp194956

  • Terminology VPN licenses makes me crazy

Sorry if this question has been postponed, probably several times, but I simply can't have my head wrapped around the SSL VPN license thing. The documentation uses terminology that does match the output of the SHOW VERSION, at least not that I can see.

So, I have an ASA 5520. We ordered it added 100 SSLVPN licenses. Here is the output appropriate to see THE VERSION

The devices allowed for this platform:

    The maximum physical Interfaces: unlimited

    VLAN maximum: 150

    Internal hosts: unlimited

    Failover: Active/active

    VPN - A: enabled

    VPN-3DES-AES: enabled

    Security contexts: 2

    GTP/GPRS: disabled

    VPN SSL counterparts: 100

Total of the VPN peers: 750

    Sharing license: disabled

    AnyConnect for Mobile: disabled

    AnyConnect Cisco VPN phone: disabled

    AnyConnect Essentials: disabled

    Assessment of Advanced endpoint: disabled

Proxy sessions for the UC phone: 2

Total number of Sessions of Proxy UC: 2

    Botnet traffic filter: disabled

This platform includes an ASA 5520 VPN Plus license

So should what license I, exactly? AnyConnect Essentials is disabled, so it leads me to believe that I have a form any of premium Anyconect (it does not SAY that, he said only: 'VPN PLUS'). Cisco.com looking for part number ASA5520-VPN-PL =, which is the ASA 5520 with the VPN Plus license (without the user SSL 100 Add in) gets me squat. If I do not have a form of "premium anyconnect", why is it SAID that somewhere, instead of saying "this isn't anyconnect essentials, and you do not have these other advanced features?

I'll try to find a copy of our original order, which will show me all the part numbers, we bought, but I'm afraid that won't do me much good because it doesn't seem to be a comparative table of the licenses and features that maps the old method of doing things for example WEBVPN) to the new method ("ANYCONNECT").

Is the answer poking me in the eyes and I'm simply not noticing?

    Any help appreciated!

    Jim

The worm out pre 8.4 code HS has been confusing for many.  You currently have an AnyConnect Premium license that gives you full access to all features SSL AnyConnect VPN, clientless WebVPN, Cisco Secure Desktop, etc.  Your current license will allow 100 concurrent sessions or WebVPN clientless SSL VPN AnyConnect.  With 8.4, the worm out sh was changed to give you a more realistic licensing real you have enabled.  Here is an example of output from one of my ASAs lab for your reference.

The devices allowed for this platform:

The maximum physical Interfaces: 8 perpetual

    VLAN: 3 restricted DMZ

    Double ISP: Disabled perpetual

Junction VIRTUAL LAN ports: perpetual 0

The hosts on the inside: 10 perpetual

    Failover: Disabled perpetual

    VPN - A: enabled perpetual

    VPN-3DES-AES: activated perpetual

    AnyConnect Premium peers: 2 perpetual

    AnyConnect Essentials: Disabled perpetual

Counterparts in other VPNS: 10 perpetual

    Total VPN counterparts: 25 perpetual

    Shared license: disabled perpetual

    AnyConnect for Mobile: disabled perpetual

AnyConnect Cisco VPN phone: disabled perpetual

Assessment of Advanced endpoint: disabled perpetual

Proxy UC phone sessions: 2 perpetual

Proxy total UC sessions: 2 perpetual

    Botnet traffic filter: disabled perpetual

    Intercompany Media Engine: Disabled perpetual

This platform includes a basic license.

  • Disable SSL VPN license

    Hello

I have 2 5510 ASA and I'm in a pinch with needing a failover ASA to implement. I have an ASA test I put in as a firewall waiting in an active scenario / in sleep, and this ASA a user 10 SSL VPN license applied. My ASA primary I'll put this in place with only 2 standard user and fails it of Wizard config HA when I run through it. The message I get is "Test of compatibility of the license for many clientless SSL VPN peers has failed." How can I deactivate the license 10 user on my unit of analysis so I can bring it failover?

The two ASA have a license of SecPlus.

    Thanks for any help,

    Brett

Keep your current activation key you can reapply after your tests, and request a new activation key of [email protected] / * / unlicensed SSL VPN to test your failover.

  • Issue of ASA 5505 VPN licenses

I have three places that I want to connect via vpn site-to-site deployed on three ASA 5505. How is the term 'Peers' in the text of license, affecting my script? Each peer ASA in a solution from site to site, or each transmission of user data in the established tunnel also counted?

Users, passing through the tunnel of site to another are not counted. Only the peers themselves.

  • ASA 5500 x new anyconnect VPN license structure

I wonder if anyone can give me some insight on the new ASA VPN (SSL VPN) structure of license.  Currently, I have anyconnect premium license installed on the ASA 5500 series but want to buy the same type of license for x ASA 5500 series.  I understand the premium license is required for SSL VPN and webvpn.  Can someone find out if the premium anyconnect and anyconnect essentials license has been replaced by the Cisco Anyconnect Apex licence?

The new AnyConnect Apex maps old Premium licenses. They are now focused on the term (1, 3-5 years) and have been approved by a single user (regardless of the number of devices) vs. concurrent users on the old regime.

Apex (or the old premium) is required for clientless SSL VPN. Regular-based on the SSL VPN client AnyConnect requires no Apex but can be done by using only more licenses.

The new AnyConnect Plus is the old Essentials plus mobile licenses. There is an option of perpetual and based on the duration.

By single user licensing is a terms and conditions / EULA stuff and not enforced by technical means at the moment.

  • SSL VPN license for ASA

It must be an easy question - but I'm having a hard time finding an answer. How are the SSL VPN to the end user a license?

Let's say I have 300 users, SSL, but only 20 concurrent SSL at any time. Do I need licenses for the 300 full or 20 competitors?

    Thank you

    Jim

    Hey Jim,.

SSL licenses for only simultaneous connections. The only limitation you will encounter is how SSL sessions each platform supports (i.e. 750 concurrent sessions on an ASA5520).

  • Cisco 1900 series ssl vpn license

    Hello

Since the FL-SSLVPN10-K9 license cannot be purchased, I wonder what are the options on my router CISCO1921-SEC/K9 should I now if I want to use SSL VPN, if any?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

    Herman

I think the best way is to allow the new AnyConnect 4 which is also valid for the IOS-based VPN gateways:

  • VPN licenses

Can someone please explain to me the difference between the user and IPSec license license? When should you get this license? I tried to search for information on this issue but it looks that there are none.

    Anatoliy

The user license is more related to the use of the ASA as a firewall and specifies the number of users/hosts inside which it will provide protection. IPSec licenses are for the SAA, as it provides a VPN treatment.

So, you are more concerned with the user license during your deployment of ASA is for traditional firewall protection. And you are more concerned with IPSec licenses if your deployment of ASA is to provide the IPSec VPN. And you'd be concerned with two types of license if your deployment both firewall and VPN processing.

  • Site to Site VPN license

    Hello

On the SAA under version show, I can see

    VPN - A: enabled

    VPN peers: 5000

    WebVPN peers: 2

Is the above is sufficient to enable site-to-site vpn feature or I need to buy another license.

    Thank you.

That should suffice for you will activate the VPN site-to-site connections.

  • ASA5510 must add 25 peer SSL VPN Licenses, NM found link in this message

I just got my new ASA5510 and also an authorization key product for "ASA 5500 VPN 25 SSL peers License ', but I can't for the life of figure me out how to install these licenses. I tried to enter the key provided, but when I do the ASA returns an error "type 4 or 5 Tuple Activation-Key."

Is there a place on the Cisco site, where I 'activate' this key for a licence to be installable on the SAA?

    https://Tools.Cisco.com/swift/licensing/PrivateRegistrationServlet

    Thank you

    Rick

Once you put your code PAK page you mentioned, it will ask you to verify the end-user and your contact information. At the end of the process (step 4), you will receive an email with the activation key. Then just enter it on the SAA by using the command of activation key (detailed instructions will be present in the mail as well on how to do this).

  • Client VPN license

    Hi all

Please, it is legal to our customers to share cisco vpn client installation?

I mean we can access remote vpn for external clients, and I don't know if I can give them the client installation package.

I have the valid service contract in order to download and use, but what of my external consultants?

    Thanks for the reply.

    Tomas

As long as you are allowed to download the client, you can distribute to your customers without any problems.

But it is a license to use with Cisco head devices only.

  • Calculation of SSL VPN license

    Hello

I need to purchase licenses for my SSL VPN (AnyConnect) 2901 router, and I would like to know how it is affected.

If I buy a license 10 users, it is up to the 10 named user, or it is counted by concurrent users?

If a user connects from a laptop computer and a mobile phone at the same time, with the same username, it counted as 2 user license, or just one?

Also, AFAIK, the AnyConnect Essentials license is only available to ASA and not IOS routers. Is that still OK?

    Thank you.

The number of licenses using simultaneous connections, regardless of the associated user ID.

75 connected both unique usernames or a different user connected of 75 endpoints name would be count as 75 licenses in use. Laptop more phone = 2 users if the connections are simultaneous.

The Essentials vs Premium distinction is unique to the ASA. Premium features only as a clientless SSLVPN, hostscan etc are not available based on the IOS SSL VPN
