vs game sound effects mp3 wav files

I'm working on a video game and I using OpenAL files and wav audio work.

I was just to add playback and noticed that the wav file is big enough 4 MB against against the original mp3 file 1 MB

I'm trying to get the game to work with mp3 files to save space (can not get this to work see other post)

But that got me thinking.

After doing a lot of reading on the web, I noticed that most sources recommend using wav to mp3 files

I would have thought 'space' could pose a problem for mobile applications like this, but that doesn't seem to be a problem in these discussions.

People don't like about the real size of bar? (transmission of effects and space on the shelf)

Should I care?

The folder bar is currently around 4-5 MB with the backing track, it would be 8-9 MB

Please note that I have already reduced the bitrate (and did some other stuff) to minimize the size of the file, there's the mp3 file is much smaller, the wav file.

I also appreciate that there is some legal and philosophical reasons to not use mp3 but I think only those technical.

Update

It turns out that the reason why he broke was a stupid mistake on my part

as soon as I stared it stopped crashing

After much trial and error I was able to do the work.

I am also able to play multiple mp3 files at one time.

I think I'll use a hybrid model, however, keep track of .wav for sound effects files and MP3 files for support.  I find that the mp3 files do not seem to be too brave was the wav file and just out of sync wise they seem sometimes.

I'm also somewhat surpised that mmr_stop() is so expensive, it caused glitches in my game, but I moved it to a different thread, and everything seems fine.

    What have I done wrong?

    Find a working example of code here:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/2-questions-about-playing-short-MP3/m-p/3112...

     public void play()

                          InputStream is = clazz.getResourceAsStream("rolling.mp3");
                          Player player =  javax.microedition.media.Manager.createPlayer(is, "audio/mpeg");
                          player.realize();

    One problem was that I had to use:

    A player = javax.microedition.media.Manager.createPlayer (, "audio/mpeg" "");

    Instead of

    A player = Manager.createPlayer (that is, "audio/mpeg");

  • Is there a way to convert my wav files to mp3 files in the player and music library.

    I copied some old vinyl to my computer and saved as wav files. I would like to convert thm into mp3 files to save space. When I had Vista I believe that there is a tab in the media player that will allow me to edit the files from wav to mp3 files. Is there a way to do this in Windows 7.

    To copy the old LP's to a PC, I would use Audacity (more the Lame encoder) because it will only convert but also, before we do, you can use it to clean your wav files.

    Audacity is a complete audio editing software (free) so you can get rid of all unwanted sounds like the rumble of Platinum, clicking on (starting from scratch) etc. using the various filters included with the software. RIP with firstly, Audiograbber as freeware

    Google for their web pages, both work with the Lame mp3 encoder.

    See you soon,.

    You may need to download solitaire game of spider on some third-party site. There are a lot of third-party websites available that can help you in the task.

    HI - if I rip a cd track to a wav file then change it to mp3?

    Just reply to this and the site crashed!

    Anyway Hi (new)

    Yes - but you need third party software - why not tear as a wav in a separate Directory and tearing then as mp3 in your usual library? If you need help in choosing a different location back to me.

  • Audio files recorded in Captivate are wav. files. You can record in mp3 format?

    Apparently, we need the mp3 file to upload to the lms. This been done? If so, how?

    I already recorded audio with a usb microphone.

    Sabrina S.

    You misunderstand me. When published the WAV files are converted to MP3 by Captivate; which is a compressed format (same way images will be compressed as well). So it shouldn't be a problem.

    WAV offers you the best quality, I tend to import WAV for audio clips in the CP, but you can also import MP3s with no problems.

  • Sync audio and animation and sound effects

    I'm new to Flash, and I use Flash Pro CC on Windows 10

    When you import an Audio file (.wav or .mp3) it will play only if I start from the first audio image. If I click 'play' in the middle of the audio file, I'll here nothing. This makes synchronization with animation very hard, especially when the file is large. Any solution for this?

    After you import a file and sound effects are not available also - and I can't do anything (for example-, I can spend the 'event' 'Stream').

    Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you

    You use a HTML5 Canvas in Florida try to use an ActionScript 3.0 FLA, so you can get the word out.

    If you need to end up with HTML5 Canvas, do all the animation sound synchronization in an AS3 FLA, then after that you can convert it to HTML5 Canvas, at which point the sound has become the event, but I still hope to play well enough to synchronize.

    Hello I have a new computer and the audio wma recorder does not work. While the recorder creates audio files, there is no sound on them. I use a Realtek audio set headphones and I am at a loss what to do I tried all options of shooting game of his trouble, which did not help. I need instructions specific to how to get the tape recorder to record.

    Hi DanielAmitai,

    ·         What operating system do you use?

    If it's Windows 7, so please note that Sound WMA MP3 recorder is not compatible with the operating system.

    http://www.MP3-WMA-recorder.com/

    Uninstall the program and try to install in compatibility mode and see if it helps.

    (a) right click on the configuration file (the file setup.exe for the software), and then select Properties.

    (b) now, click on the Compatibility tab and check the box that says run this program in compatibility mode for.

    (c) select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2). Click on apply and OK.

    (d) now right-click on the configuration file and select run as administrator and follow the normal installation procedure. Check to see if it helps.

    For more information, see:

    You can also check if there is an update available from the manufacturer.

  • When I edit a .wav file (noise reduction to remove the background hiss) and save them, the changes are not saved.

    I just installed hearing and have edited a few audio voiceover to remove the background hiss.  When I save the changes and reopen the file, the hiss is back.  The changes are not saved.  Why is this happening?  How to record the sound of the effects of reduction in my .wav file?

    shionak wrote:

    I capture the background hissing noise footprint > click apply > click on select, then click on apply again.

    These steps are not quite correct. You have two choices; either highlight a part of the background noise and use SHIFT + P, which captures your selection as a basis for NR or, open the Panel NR and use "Capture noise Print" from there, after making a selection first. After doing this, click on "select an entire file. What you definitely have to do is to use 'apply' at this point, and when use you it, just use it once.

    When you capture using printed, the Preview 'play' button inside the plugin to check the settings and then stop it. When you are satisfied of what he done, then click on 'Apply' - but once. This will apply for all of your noise reduction. As long as you do not use "undo" at any time, the version Number will be be recorded on the original, or if you use "save under", then the original will be left alone, and a new noise-reduced version will be saved.

  • problem of distortion of WAV files

    When put on programs of radio, I add .wav files to .mp3 files in multitrack view in Audition 3.0 and they sound very good to start with.  When I export the file in mp3 format and listen to it in the view change tasks .wav I added sounds distorted, as if there are 2 or 3 spots playing each other.  I will return to multitrack view and they also now distorted sound.  The other thing that happens is that sometimes when I export something to say 10 minutes, it records only the first 20 seconds or so!  It doesn't happen every time, but it is often enough.  If I go to another computer, it seems to work very well and no one else I know seems to have this problem, which makes me think of my laptop, it should be.  No idea what is causing these issues?  Maybe my material or sample rate Audio?  Help, please!  Thank you.

    To be honest I don't know what are the levels

    Surely, you can see on the counters of the hearing that the signal is reached? If the levels are peaking very close to '0', then when you encode in a lossy as .mp3 format you can generate levels located above '0' and which lead to cutting and distortion.

  • No sound in the AVI file editor

    Hi, I wrote a game earlier on my PC. I made a video of him it action (using an application called FRAPS). The game's music and sound effects. The film is a .avi file. It plays and sounds good in Media Player when I watch the movie. When I import it into Adobe Premiere - there is no noise of any kind. The game was recorded at 60 fps, so I used the NTSC option in Premiere Elements, but I tried PAL too and it made no difference. It plays ok - just no sound. Can anyone help? Thank you

    Rich

    You may have a lot of problems mounting FRAPS in Premiere Elements, Rich. Rates, sizes, and codecs are simply not something with which the program is designed to work.

    Windows MovieMaker might be able to do. Then maybe VideoWave.

    But operate in first Elements is likely to be more trouble that it's worth.

    Try this.

    Inside of sound recorder, click file > open and open the WAV file.
    Click file > save as
    Change... a button click
