• Upgrade test lab to U4 - lost access to the premises of SATA storage

  Wonder if anyone has seen this when upgrading ESX of U3 to U4.  My laboratory ESX servers are based on the motherboards desktop, the ASUS P5E-VMDO (processors quad core, 8 GB RAM).  All the way up to and including the 3 update, installing ESX recognized the SATA controllers on board and I was able to use the local VMFS partitions.  In fact, this is where I had installed my Lefthand Networks VSA SRM test and demo-ing.  The upgrade to U4 has apparently updated drivers SATA for ESX and server does not see the SATA controllers on board.  The laboratory is still quite functional due to the Openfiler SAN I, but I can choose to downgrade to U3 ESX hosts, unless I can find a solution, so I can always access the local storage.

  Anyone got tips?

  Assuming that you do not use a RAID function on board with your SATA, see if your system BIOS has an option to portray the ICH9 controller as something else - achi if it is avaiable or portray SATA in IDE, if it's available and see if ESX 3.5 Update 4 it resumes after a reboot. You'll want to write to its original position first before making changes if you can put if none of this works.

  I am in the process of migrating a Visual studio 2003 project in Visual studio 2005.While recompilation of code with VS2005, I'm getting below error-

  How to add other attributes specific to the seller on the GBA unit? Normally on the software, we use the command line "CSutil" to add the ASB, but as the device is not interface to the windows system, there is no way to configure it. No one knows how to do?

  Starting from 3.1, supported ACS VSA custom with RDBMS synchronization, also. This was done specifically to take charge of the unit. Action codes 350 per 355 support config and custom VSA definition.

  So, consult the ACS 3.2 user guide device for information on the use of RDBMS Synch.

• Adding a custom VSA to a group - ACS unit

  Using a secure ACS appliance 4.0

  I want to add a new provider of RADIUS and its VSA associated with the configuration of the ACS. This will be then returned in the authorization.

  I have already added the new seller and the VSA required through RDBMS. I can now see the new seller (supplier) RADIUS in NAP profile etc.

  However I can't seem to find a way that how to set the value of the SBA added? And assign it to a particular group? I can't find this anywhere VSA.

  Add an AAA client with "authenticate using the" Radius (vendor)

• Question of vlan SG200 (ESXi VSA config)

  Hello! I have three switches SG200-26, and I have also two hosts ESXi I want to connect exactly as shown on the attached map of 'best practices' by VMware.

  

  Even if I created the VLAN in the SG200 and I put the two VLANS (508 and 608), as authorized these ports (where my ESX NIC are connected), I can't host ping host 1 2 when the configuration of their NETWORK interface card to use 608 VLAN.

  Am I missing something? My IP is all in the 192.168. network and the only reason for which I need a VLAN is to separate the traffic of the VSA backend internally, only these two hosts will use the VLAN. So I think that I don't have to create virtual interfaces on my router because this is the case, is my understanding correct?

  Also sending my switch config screenshot below... 3 switches all have the latest firmware.

  

  Any ideas what to change to make it work on the SG200 would be appreciated!

  VMware also has that Protocol VLANS on the physical switch must be 802. 1 q, not of ISL, someone knows which one uses my SG200-26?
  In addition, the only requirements is that my two hosts:

  • Are in the same subnet.
  • Have static IP addresses.
  • Have the same default gateway configured.

  My switch supports 802. 1 q, your config switch seems ok at this point.

  Here are some of my thoughts that I see the announcement and I'm a bit confused.

  What worries me is the configuration on the wall of sound, or the router, they are not spread of VLAN between ports on the router?

  • You're not VLAN 508 multiplication and 608 via the router, so I guess you have two network interfaces on the router, one for each of the two switches as shown in the first diagram... You can expand on the description of the network configuration of the router.
  • You are using two NICs for each host and spreading with tag vlan packets for VLAN 508 and 608 of each NETWORK card?  But the pattern of reference would indicate that you have four physical network interface cards to each HOST.
  • If so, I suppose that HOST servers are connected with the GE15 and switch 3 and GE16 and GE2 GE3 switch 1

• Cannot create VSA attributes in ACS 5.1

  I upgraded to ACS 5.1 inorder to use the VSA RADIUS feature that has been added. I am able to create the VSA provider object, but get an error during the creation of the real attributes. Therror States: this failure has occurred: {0}. your changes have not been saved. Click OK to return to the list page. Is anyone else getting this error?

  I went through a process of upgrading on my system and I am able to reproduce your problem.

  Problem occurs if you have "Include attribute in the newspaper" check box selected.

  As a work around to continue without the selected square and should be able to add the attribute.

  Impact of not selecting this is that the attribute will not appear in the monitoring and troubleshooting of newspapers but will not affect what is sent in response (s) of RADIUS.

  I sync upward with the development team to see what can be done to solve this problem

  I have found no documentation explaining how to create a specific attribute to the unit of ACS 5.2 for RADIUS authentication. I was able to do on ACS 4.0 ServerPour Netscreen Firewalls. We are migrating to ACS 5.2 device and before do us I want to know how to perform the task where migration has a problem with the import of the ASB of ACS 4.

  Well, now it gets more interesting. Our configuration on ACS Version 3.3 is authenticate local users through RADIUS, but caution Netscreen published the port to use is of 1645. Such has been manually added to the ACS 3.3 but such task is hidden on the ACS 5.2 or it is not supported. I have the resources to serve as a native port of RADIUS 1812 who reported on GBA after having authenticated the user, but the Netscreen does not authenticate. Someone at - it deal with this issue? Your advice will be appreciated.

  Well well well, you can use the RDBMS synchronization feature to add the new custom provider ACS with its custom attributes that complement the standard list of the IETF.

  What you need to do is set the file accountactions.csv with the actions needed to add the new custom as well as its attributes provider.

  As a reference to how to implement the accountactions.csv file, please see the following link:

  Walk through all of the above chapter.

  One of the hosts of our cluster is to have the motherboard replaced on Monday. The fault is the idrac, the host is always more or less of work and remained in production until then

  VMware back advising me that as long as the replacement warranty is a Board of Directors of the specification the same then there is no problem and no post necessary config replacement.

  Edge arrived yesterday and everything worked beautifully after the swap. The only thing I had to do was to connect the ports I had put in place previously.

  Research in virtualizing my windows infrastructure (windows servers ~ 20). So far, I'm looking to VMware vSphere Essentials and a cluster of three servers vsphere. A SAN is very expensive, and I'm looking at other alternatives. Has looked at VSA a few months past and all recently I read that it is discontinued. Is this correct? In addition to the cost, what other factors would come into play when choosing between VSANS or SAN device? I already know the product to go with, configuring vmware hardware server plug for vsphere, but am stuck on whether to go with VSAN (VSA preference) or a San.

• ESXI & HP VSA data store size

  Is - well configured?

  I have 2 hosts HP DL360P VMware 5.5 with 2 500 GB hard drives with hardware raid 1. iSCSI data store configured with 690 GB of disk space in vSphere. 2 HP VSA is appearing 350GB of storage available. The HP CMC shows 690 GB of available disk space. When I install the volume, RAID10, and available disk space as thick, it shows a maximum of 347GB - because of RAID10 storage space.

  My concern is the gap in the amount of available storage space depending on whether display you the data in vSphere (690 GB datastore) store and the CMC showing only 347 GB of usable storage space. So in vSphere it will probably lead someone to believe that there are more storage available there are currently available on the volume.

  Is something wrong with that or should it?

  Mystery solved, someone has decreased the size of the volume in the CMC, which explains the difference in size.

  I work on a VSA cluster to increase the storage capacity, but have hit a snag.

  The wizard of storage increase all the SBA has traveled each off, expanded the size of storage on local server data warehouses and looked like there finish but got stuck in this 'warning' and does not increase the actual sizes of VSA data store.

  Just an update:

  After spending some time with the technical support of VMware, we determined how fast was 'clean' and involved no resolution and window of failure of the whole environment was just rebuild the ASB.   VSA was indeed another VMware product. He had a highly available NAS file server, but only went up to a maximum of 3 knots. I guess you're meaning VSAN in this issue.

  As the previous poster said, you need 5 knots to tolerate 2 failures.
