• Incorrect version of vCenter (4.0 Update 1 .iso) on the Download Center?

  I just downloaded theVMware vCenter Server 4 Update 1 ISO image, build 208156 (19/11/2009) from the site of VMware download yesterday and did a fresh install of Virtual Center on a fresh Windows 2003 R2 server.  When I run the VI client and check the version # (help, "about VMware vSphere), he pointed out the version 4.0.0 (Build 208111) for the vSphere Client and Version 4.0.0 build 208111 for VMware vCenter Server.

  The name of the .iso that I used to install it is: VMware-VIMSetup-all - 4.0.0 - 208156.iso, which is supposed to be

  I downloaded the text next to the DELL Web site: VMware-VMvisor-Installer-5.5.0-1331820.x86_64-Dell_Customized_A02.iso (11/03/2014)

  But it's still version instead of the current 5.5 5.5 Update 1 VMware (published 11/03/2014 too).

  Does anyone have an idea on the date output ISO to DELL for VMWare 5.5 Custom update 1?

  I've seen for ESXi Update 2 release notes, and it is great! The only problem is: the last version I see when I go to the download page is update 1. I found the link to the download page of update 2, but when I go to download it, I get the following error:

  "You are not allowed or are not authorized to download this product."

  Of course, I thought that ESXi Hypervisor was free, so if someone could help me out, that would be great

• ESX 3.0.2 to Vsphere 4.0 update

  Hello

  Can I put a 32 bit ESX 3.0.2 installation to Vsphere 4.0?  The processor is capable of 64-bit (Dual-Core AMD Opteron 2218).  I've read articles that support a direct upgrade from ESX 3.0.2 to Vsphere 4.0, but I am concerned about the OS 32-bit to 64-bit Vsphere operating system upgrade.  Is this a factor?

  You must use the ISO, but the installation will work fine as long as it's a supported upgrade path. I've done several 3.5 for vsphere 4 updates and without worrying about 32 to 64-bit.

  Is there anywhere I can get individual Vista x 86 sercurity and patch updates in .msu files? Iso files are huge (they contain updates for x 64, x 86, xp, windows server, etc.)

  Hello. I recently completed an upgrade to vCenter 5.0 > 5.1. I came across some problems common to the teeth with SSO, but things look ok at the moment. I have a problem I would really in trouble - when you try to sort virtual machines in the vSphere client, I see the following error message:

  My apologies for not updating this post - I completely forgot

  I ended up spending a call with VMware and the resolution in my case was to add my user account in domain directly to the vCenter administrator group - before I had been a member of a group of ESX-Admins who was a member of the Administrators group. I hope this helps...

• Application of vSphere 5.0 Update 1

  I did the upgrade to vSphere 4.x to 5.0 vSphere. But unfortunately I never did the software updates as update 1 for existing 5.0 vsphere application etc..

  I just want to clarify this is the same process similar to 4-5 upgrade as first run configuration on vcenter vcenter existing and use the update for esxi and VMs Manager? or he difference anyway?

  An update of vCenter Server 5.0 to 1 update is not necessarily mandatory in this case (see http://partnerweb.vmware.com/comp_guide2/sim/interop_matrix.php) I still recommend it.
  I did the same weekend last in my test environment that worked perfectly. I've updated vCenter Server, followed by the other installed components (i.e. vSphere Client, Manager of update, Web access,...) After the add-in Manager to update update, I created a base line "ESXi 5.0 Update 1" fixed (it's my favorite way) and updated hosts. Once done you can plan/schedule the update of the VMware Tools for virtual machines.

• Upgrading your vSphere 4 keys for vSphere 5 force update you immediately?

  We are on vSphere Essentials Plus in favour, and the licensing portal offers me the upgrade to vSphere 5.  I would get my keys locked, but I did not intend to upgrade immediately.  Update of key in the portal of licenses (but not immediately use them) turn off or otherwise disabled my existing installation of vSphere 4?

  the upgrade of your keys just updates on the Licensing Portal.  This will not affect your production environment.  Your keys are set to never expire.  When you're ready to roll up to vSphere5, at this time, you can tell you key in your inventory of vSphere.

• vSphere Client 1 update

  I'm embarrassed to ask this question because I know it's something I should be able to understand my own.  But I can't seem to find a way to download the update for vSphere client to use with my ESXi installation as well as the update for ESXi itself.

  I found a few links, but they all required me to enter a serial number or a contract with VMware service to download the update.

  For the Chargers for free, where can I download the update and get the help of Win 7 without hacky workarounds?

  No, the Host Update Utility is a separate application.

  During the installation of vSphere Client ask you if you want to install it. If you did, you should have it in the Start Menu (programs-> VMware)

  This utility can be used to upgrade from version 3.5 to 4.0, as well as ESXi 4 patch. To patch your current version, use the buttons "Scan for Patches.

• CPUID. Missing ISO.gz in ESX 3.5 update 3 ISO image

  To detect the exact model of the CPU (I know they are Xeon) I found in the VMware knowledge base the suggestion to use the images of CD cpuid.iso.

  It should be present in the directory the ESX CD images, I looked into esx - 3.5.0_Update_3 - 123630.iso, but I found only a couple of text file (LICENSE.cpuid and README.cpuid). Is it still supported this tool or not? Perhaps, he was present in the previuos versions and removed from the update 3?

  I have to update a lot of 4.1 update 1 update 2, then update the 3?  Or can I just update directly from 4.1 update 1 update 3?

  all U updates are cumulative, so whatever it is necessary is rolled into the update package.

  Is it allowed to pass only the vsphere client 1 update, so I can run on Windows 7?  Or do I also have to upgrade ESX 4.0 Update 1 (DVD-ISO) on the server for the game?

  I use the customer update 1 to connect to versions no - U1 4.0 vCenter and ESX hosts without problem. It is also listed as compatible in the latest version of vSphere compatibility tables.
