• vWorkspace and Foglight integration not working

  Hello

  When I click on the diagnosis and the monitoring tab for any element (datacenter, virtual computer users) in vWorkspace I get the following error.

  See not found: system:vdidiagnostics_vmware_consoleintegration.viewCIVMWQuickView

  The Diagnostics tab and real monitoring itself works fine and opens my Foglight homepage without problem (I have installed on a separate virtual computer foglight)

  vWorkspace version is 8.0.306 and Foglight Foglight virtualization 7.1 trail verison.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Foglight for. Virtual desktop (v5.6), which is now supplied with and integrated with vWorkspace and Foglight for v7.x virtualization (VMware) are similar but different products.

  If functionality (and URLs) supported in a single product do not work in the other. vWorkspace is hardcoded to work with Foglight for virtual desktops.

  If you have ITS current for vWorkspace, you are entitled to a copy free from Foglight for the virtual desktop, which takes in charge the two Hyper-V and VMware hypervisor infrastructure + followed by the components of farm vWorkspace.

  Hi guys,.

  Can someone give me please an update on what vWorkspace will officially support VMWare 5.1 update 2?

  In addition, if we were to just go ahead and upgrading VMWare to 5.1 update 2 (we are currently on the plain 5.1), what problems meet us?  We are on vWorkspace 8.0 MR1.

  May be late but it is supported in 8.0.1. (vmware 5.1 u2), 5.5 will be supported in the next version (8.5 or 9.x), it's what tells me so good luck

• vWorkspace and vulnerability SSL POODLE

  In order to mitigate the vulnerability of POODLE on my secure gateway server, I tried to disable SSL 3.0. TLS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 are enabled.

  I can connect is no longer on. The web proxy works and shows the applications, but when I try to start an application it fails. Enable SSL 3.0 back allows me to log on.

• Problem with linux vWorkspace

  Currently I have 1 server with IIS for Gateway , 2 Server for Brokers vWorkspace and 1 Server RDS
  
  By using vWorkspace connector from Windows I have no problem to connect to VMs or applications ( notepad for example). But since Linux only connection works VMs , applications show error "Failed TCP Connection "
  
  also I have a Dell Wyse SUSE 5010 and the same thing happens to me .
  
  Everything is mounted on Vmware
  
  What could be the problem?

• vWorkspace 8.0MR1 Powershell error - cannot locate permission for target

  I installed the version 8.0.306.0029 of the Powershell Module for vWorkspace and I see a problem with the New-QVWManagedApplication cmdlet. I have all the settings according to the wiki for the specified cmdlet, but he came back with the message below pointing to an issue with target.   If it helps our environment is 8.0 since the launch with the gateway servers, IIS, management and broker 2012 with 2008R2 Session hosts. I installed PowerShell module on one of management with .net 4.0 and PowerShell 3 servers as required.

  I have a vWorkspace environment where users can not open multiple instances of any application from their destination vWorkspace page. Let me give you an example:

  JulianTest of the user connects to vWorkspace and sees to the vWorkspace landing page which has two icons 'Production' & 'Test '. The user clicks on "Production" but also wants to open an instance of 'Test', but when he click on 'Test' it gets the error:

  Remote Desktop cannot connect to the remote computer to one of the following reasons:

  ....

  ....

  ....

  If the user does the same thing except opens first ' Test' and then try to open 'Production' then, it gets the same error. Somehow, vWorkspace does not allow more than one RDP session for any user. I tested the computer of the user remote DESKTOP connections and I can open any number of RDP sessions to different terminal servers (there are about 10 servers terminal Server in the farm!) is not something RDP.

  Can anyone suggest how can I fix?

  Workstation user OS: Windows7

  Terminal servers: Windows 2003

  Broker servers: 2 x Windows 2003

  vWorkspace version: 7.5.304.547

  I try to create an office but I don't see anything on the possibility to configure the MAC range in options (with the exception of Hyper-v in places properties);

  My office is well established, but they receive an AUTOMATIC private IP addressing because my DHCP server is not allocating IP on unknown Mac...

  So I would create a range of MAC in the vworkspace and then integrate this range in my dhcp.

  Where is this option?

• PowerShell are tied for vWorkspace API for user sessions?

  In vWorkspace Management Console, you can view all users.  I'm looking for a match draw to this API (see image) to allow us to use powershell or another script that a user vWorkspace can run to unplug/disconnect their sessions...

  We currently do not support this through the PowerShell API. As you say, the best you can do directly queries the terminal Server farm.

  Using a combination of the cmdlet Get-QVWServer of vWorkspace and Get-TSSession module and Stop-TSSession of the PSTerminalServices module, you should be able to implement this feature. I realize there are some implications of permission using this method because the Terminal Server services cmdlets require high permissions to run. You can configure an end point PowerShell restricted services Terminal Server machines that prevented execution of anything except the two require orders of TS.

  That said, I'll make sure that this request to enter the road map. It is certainly something that we should support directly.

• VWorkspace slow environment

  Hi guys,.

  We have a problem that the beginning of an application click on one, until the application is fully available takes too long.

  I want to especially discuss the accused of long time waiting by clicking an application in AppPortal Client and the 'Start' of quest box.

  Whenever it takes 20-30 seconds to start the connection, sometimes more.

  In this time AppPortal stops responding and waiting for information from the broker. (and this is not issue a client side, because I have the same behavior on each client)

  WebAccess, we can see that firstly it takes too long to load the .pit file and after that also takes too long too load connection.

  What is your experience with these Perfomance in vWorkspace and best practices to get the most out of a vWorkspace environment?

  I just think that our broker is fully loaded with applications and Copmputer groups and that is why the performance is declining. Are there suggested limits?

  The broker we have altogether:

  • 115 computer groups
  • 188 computers/VDIs (Parallels)
  • Managed applications 810

  The use of resources (CPU/RAM), servers are not on the edge and have many free resources.

  Any ideas?

  I know of many clients with more users/VDIs, but I've never seen that many Applications.

  VWorkspace can be proposed and deployed in a unique environment of Novell eDirectory? What concerns me, is the provision of virtual offices, because I think that part of the process will attempt to reach the office configured in Active Directory. Would it still work if Active Directory is non-existence in a Novell environment? Of other "witch hunt" or limitations that you guys met in the application vWorkspace in a pure Novell environment?

  I have install vWorkspace 7.6. desktops for Novell to logon.

  In my setup the Machines (Hyper-V, vWorksapce broker, office computers) are deployed in AD.

  The InstantProvisioning Service on the needs of the virtual office AD joined computer objects. I Recomment InstantProvisioning on Sysprep. Changes to the Master model I have just started the master of the domain joined to make changes and make a "slmgr.vbs /rearm' new import model - stop - that's all. No sysprep or anything here.

  How then to provide Novell to logon for users?

  They need to connect with vWorkspace - there will be a commercial or Windows account local (Version 7.6). I use a local model Windows account on the Machine broker vWorkspace and pre-fill the identification information in the Web Site of WebAccess.

  I will not use the fake account of Windows for Office Access because this could lead to Sessions exceeded in the worst case.

  To achieve this:

  I disable pncredprov.dll on desktop

  Configure computers to use the RDP security layer - this will bring up the Interactive home for logon screen.

  Real logon is done by a combination of pgina.org and the Novell Client. Page provides LDAP authentication, and creates a local user of Windows on the desktop. Novell Client in passthrough mode will make Novell authentication - seemless to the user.

  In this case we don't need user profiles. Instead, I use a "pre-defined" for the newly created user profile. Configure computers to return to service after logout - it's one thing to go simple.

  vWorkspace 8 with 'anonymous' functionality could be useful. I think that AD is always necessary for computer accounts and InstantProvisioning.
