W/o a disc factory settings. Windows Vista.

I have a compaq desktop. Its two years and I don't know if it came with a disc, if it did then I don't have it. Is it still possible for me to plant restart at the beginning? In addition, it is Windows vista, and I know how to restart the plant. But I don't know if it will remove the real windows vista and other valuable things like that.

  • Satellite L305D-S5938: factory settings restore Vista or Win7

    Hello. Please excuse me if this question has an obvious answer.
    Sorry if this has already been asked before.

    I bought my computer until Windows 7 came out (around August 2009), so he came originally with Vista, and a CD to upgrade came in the mail.

    I upgraded to Windows 7 for some time and used without incident.
    However, one day the computer froze and I had to force-stop it. When I tried to reboot, it gave me an error saying that it lacked a critical file and I need to insert an installation disc. I looked online and tried to start the upgrade CD and a CD of retrieval from the internet. Right now the recovery CD "tried to fix" my computer for the last 20 hours ago, and I'm starting to think it never ends.
    ---
    So my question is, if I restore to factory settings, it will restore to Vista or will be automatically somehow supported the installation of Windows 7.

    If it goes back to Vista, and I reinstall Windows 7 with upgrade CD, I'm afraid that it will not activate correctly because I did once before. So if I reset to factory settings, I will be able to use new Windows 7?

    A response would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

    > if I restore to factory settings, it will restore to Vista or will be automatically somehow supported the installation of Windows 7.

    Personally, I've never used Windows Vista upgrade to 7 using the upgrade disc. But I think that if you restore the factory settings, you will get back to Vista and then upgrade to win 7 with a cd you received in the mail.

    >, I fear that it will not activate correctly because I did once before

    You can activate as many times as you want :) have no problem with him. Note that you must save all things necessary before restoring the factory as local settings. you be wiped.

    In answer to your question - probably not, in the least, HP. I was unable to locate the support of HP recovery for your PC from the HP Support site.

    You can contact HP directly Customer Support to see if you can order the recovery of their own media:

    If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

    If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

    Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Don't forget to read through the material in the linked thread before attempting the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939

  • Recover Vista without disc after installing windows 7

    Recently, I upgraded my G60441US HP for Windows 7 version installed at the original factory of Windows Vista, but I don't know which version of Vista and I got the product key is apparently used on another computer (finally not apparently the other computer is a HP Pavilion G7 and I bought it for my mother last year or more) and I can't get back to Windows Vista without the recovery disk that's what I keep seeing online anyway. I really can't afford to buy a new laptop and do not want to make any inoperative character. I have retained the Windows.old files but for some reason some, they seem to be of no use to me at this point. Is it possible to get a copy of Vista (withou buy one on the Microsoft Web site) so I can create a partition to boot on a USB Flash drive drive.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Dear community,

    I do not have my records, I made a small mistake of upgrading and I will contact hp for the discs, but I have another question,

  • Boot MGR missing, Windows Vista,

    Hey! so I have a Lenovo that runs on windows vista, and it had this nasty virus that I could only remove by resetting my computer back to factory settings (I saved most of my personal files) and if that wasn't bad enough, when I tried to restart my computer it says "Boot MGR is missing, press Ctrl alt delete to restart ' does NOT incidentally , so long story short, to fix it, I need to use the windows vista disc to repair the file, but I don't have the disc, but I have the key phrase that sits on the bottom of my computer when I bought it, so any suggestions regarding How can I come on a windows vista disc or download windows vista so I can burn it to a disc? preference for free because I already OWN Windows Vista?

    Hello

    There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

    There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

    They should do this for a small fee.

    To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

    You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

    How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

    "How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

    And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer/laptop there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

    The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

    Ask them to the proper key sequence.

    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

    If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

    "How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

    And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

    And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Problem with internet connection 64-bit Windows Vista, unexplained intermittent failure.

    original title: PROBLEM CONNECTING WINDOWS VISTA 64 BIT INTERNET - UNEXPLAINED INTERMITTENT OUTAGES

    On HP a6542p PC with factory installed Windows Vista (64-bit), Vista operating system program does not take account of Internet broadband, which, in reality, a good connection.  for the first 2 years of operation, the PC internet connection worked well, but a year ago, he started this OFF intermittent / WE internet problem.  SOMETIMES, I can manage to temporarily restore the internet after running randomly across the machine diagnostic & installation programs available to the home screen, OR SOMETIMES also after running REGEDIT in the start (search) bar and watching the TCP/IP settings (do not change them, just watch), but the internet connection drops again after the machine is idle for a few minutes.  I get very tired of the exercise Dog & Pony to run through the different random procedures & hoping that something will work.  I tried the fix from Microsoft using a flashdrive D/L from the Windows site to my XP machine and tried a few manual corrections proposed on various websites, but nothing seems to work.  I have no HP manufacturer disk to reload the Vista operating system.  The connection is good, the cable is good, but Vista gives me contradictory information about the diagnosis, such as ERROR 815, and he tells me also a cable is disconnected (not true, the cable is plugged & good & works very well when the Vista connection is restored), while another diagnostic message indicates the internet connection is good, at the same time other messages say is not.   What can I do to fix this problem in Vista?  Personal e-mail is: * address email is removed from the privacy * -I will check that URL of Web site for the possible answer.    Thanks in advance.

    Imrand - Thanks for the tip, I tried it & it didn't work.  However, I found an update of the HP driver for the network card Realtek in my machine, & after d/l this new driver, the problem seems to be fixed.  The Web connection is still good after several cycles of closing & reboot.  I'm not sure, because with this HP Vista PC, I can never be sure of anything, but I think the problem might be due to the rotating system off the NETWORK adapter in sleep mode, & so not put on when waking up.  Diagnostics messages confused and contradictory pages of different screen Windows were of NO use, it looks like the internet connection was good (which it was), while the other would be at the same time say there is no connection due to the disconnection of the cable, while the other at the same time say that the DNS server broadband couldn't recognize my internet query.  Total BS of Vista, which has compounded the problem than he was.  I only am not surprised Microsoft abandoned the Vista operating system so fast, so many other users of Vista have similar internet connection problems.  The user friendly and very stable XP operating system I have on an old PC of Insignia is my favorite.  Microsoft had to quit with it, IMO.

    Thanks for your help, Cimarron

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer when you used the last time? For example, you have installed updates or a program of ny?

    Method 1.
    First check to see if there are external devices attached to the computer, if so remove and check.

    Method 2.
    Step A.
    Start your computer in safe mode and check if it starts.

    Step B.
    If it starts on the desktop in safe mode and then set your computer to the clean boot and check if it starts successfully. If it starts successfully can be a third-party application or service is causing the problem. We can use the approach 50 / 50 to narrow down the root cause of the problem.

    See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.
    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
    Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    Method 3.
    I recommend you to restore system using a Windows Vista DVD.

    Here's how:
    To open the Options menu system recovery using a system repair disc or a Windows Vista installation disc.
    If your system is damaged and cannot access the menu system on your computer Recovery Options, you can access it using the Windows Vista installation disc or a system repair disc previously.
    To use this method, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the disk.
    a. Insert the disc.
    b. restart your computer using the power button on the computer.
    c. If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
    Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer.
    d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    e. If you are using the Windows installation disc, click on repair your computer.
    f. Select the Windows installation you want to repair, and then click Next.

    g. in the System Recovery Options menu, click a tool to open it and then choose the system restore and check.

    For more information see the articles below:

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you

    "I'd like to is it possible you can import a date or download one that I can use as a restore date fees if this is even possible.

    NO!

    System Restore does not have what you want and you do not have Restore Points in the air.

    Read the different ways to make a recovery to factory settings:

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • Windows Vista update shipwreck (partmgr.sys)
    I've applied the windows updates yesterday (July 12, 2011), and after restarting my computer to finish applying the updates, I get:
    File: \Windows\System32\drivers\partmgr.sys
    Status: 0xc00000e9
    Info: Windows didn't load a critical system driver is missing or damaged.
    I have my disc to install windows Vista, so I followed the instructions on the screen for ' Boot from the Vista CD, select my language, and then repair. »
    I've done four times and he has not fixed my problem. My computer does not start. Whenever the repair process is executed, it tells me that I can restart my computer to see if the repair attempt was successful and if no windows will continue to solve the problem, but it does not work.
    I can't start my computer in Mode safe mode, or with the last known good configuration.
    System restore complete with success, but when I restarted the computer I got the same error.
    Any suggestions?
    So I solved my problem.
    I started from the Vista CD and used windows recovery tools to start the command prompt. I ran the checkdisk on my C: and restarted. This was done by typing the following at the command prompt:
    C:
    Chkdsk /r
    I learned that he had to put an end to complete the checkdisk the disc, and that all the handles to the volume would be lost. Checkdisk ran once I rebooted the computer and got the following error message:
    File: \Windows\System32\drivers\partmgr.sys
    Status: 0xc0000223
    Info: Windows didn't load a critical system driver is missing or damaged.
    I booted from the Windows vista CD and ran the Startup Repair (optimist because I got a new error code). This time only the repair took only a few seconds (instead of ~ 10 min) before he told me that I was ready to restart. My computer started normally after that, but it has been restored to a restore point previous because I had run successfully system restore before.
