W530 fan turns again to 2700 RPM when it is docked

Some news. The problem with 2700 rpm with the W530 inside the docking station. Outside of the docking station, the fan operates at a lower speed.

The attached AC twice.

Please, Lenovo is accidental or intentional? Can you please do also calmer inside the docking station?

ADMIN EDIT - split point the W530 fan noise thread of origin here.

It is a signal that there is a problem on the boot volume. The system to do a routine check and you start in single user mode (SUM), the fan starts after a period of 3 minutes in SHORT (?) to ensure that the equipment will not become to be hot. This happens because BASICALLY the system do not have information on the internal temperature of the system; It is administered by the system which works in start normal mod.

  • Tecra series fan turns on and off without stopping

    Hello

I have a Tecra A3 - 185 with processor 1.73 and 504 MB of RAM, which otherwise, I'm very happy for. The only problem (but important) is that the cooling fan constantly turns on and turns off. When the standby power system is turned on high-performance computer (when browsing, emailing or even doing nothing) active fan cooling for 25 seconds it turns off for 20 seconds, is it on again for another 25 seconds and so on.

There is no even when he uses 0% CPU. I tried to change the power settings so the processor speed is reduced to 3-6 (whatever that means) with some success, but it's not really dealing with the problem all together.

I had an another Toshiba before without any problems of this kind. Could someone tell me if it is supposed to be like this? (As I'm about to throw the computer out the window close-very annoying with this turn ups-thing) and if it is, give me some settings of the device which will take care of the problem of energy saving.

    Here, you posted the same.

Uttered in another thread, it's normal behavior. The fan starts to spin when a certain temperature level has been reached and stops turning when the temperature drops.

  • Satellite U500 - 1 6 (PSU9ME) - annoying fan turn on / off constantly

    Hello

Two days ago, I bought a brand new U500 - 1 6. One thing that is annoying, the system fan. Especially when sitting in a library, as students do sometimes...

    System information:
    CPU: intel core i5 430M - 2, 26-2, 53 GHz
    GPU: Geforce 310M
    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

I want the machine to shut up, so I use the eco-utility from Toshiba, where I have the cooling method: battery life. The problem is that the fan is always light up even at idle, and while I only surf the web.
I installed the PC Health monitor and idling it looks like this:
CPU temperature going from 36% to 40%, then the fan turns on and cools down to 36% more. Then there is silence for 1 minute and then the fan starts running again.

I tried several things like updating BIOS, setting the frequency of the [low] dynamic processor and using basic design of Windows 7 instead of aero.

Now, I installed a tool called SpeedFan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) and understood that it is probably the GPU causing the fan turn on. SpeedFan reports: CPU around 25 ° C temperature but the temperature of the GPU around 45-52 ° C, so when GPU reached 52 ° C the fan starts...

Would be great if toshiba could release an update of the BIOS with improved fan control. I wouldn't mind if my GPU reaches 60 ° C when I work in silence. Even tried to disable the GPU in Windows, but had no effect... :(

Anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem? Pleeaaase :)

I agree with Mihael. When you reduce laptop cooling method will work much more silent as before.
I have two Toshiba laptops and can confirm this.

For all activities of the day I recommend you use the balanced power plan and the cooling method reduced in this plan. I'm sure that you'll see the difference.

  • Qosmio F50 - 10Z - fan cycling on and outside, even when idle

My f50 is constantly the fan turns and turns off every couple of minutes, even when the computer is idle and does not run applications.

SpeedFan shows that the GPU is constantly cycling between 55 and 65 degrees C even if there are no applications running (for example just after the start)-the fan kicks in at age 65, died at 55, and then slowly warms up again. The noise of the fan is noticeable (I don't think it's going full speed, however), and it is a bit abrupt and boring happen constantly and is not normal behavior. Core 1 and 2 on Speedfan are cycles between 40 and 45 C

Outside temperature is 20 degrees, so the environment is unlikely to be a factor. I blasted air fan for dust (as much as you can because the f50 is not built to be taken by a user to the home page), but even when the fan runs at the output seems visibly warm.

I am only drivers of toshiba running on the site (currently 7.15.11.7590)

My main concern is that this will negatively affect the life of the fan. Am I being too picky or is there something else I could do?

    Thanks for the tips

    Hello!

It's not easy to say what's the reason of this problem, I so a few questions:
Did you install the laptop with the recovery disk or Microsoft?
What operating system do you use?

First of all, you should try to update the BIOS. You can find it on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Also, make sure that there is enough free space a tower the specifications that the air circulation is not blocked.

    I hope I could help a bit.

    Good bye

  • Why my PC fans turn at maximum speed all the time?

    I have a (new)< 3="" months)="" hp="" pavillion="" p7-1449.="" the="" fans="" (case+cpu)="" tend="" to="" run="" very="" fast="" (load)="" until="" i="" restart="" the="" pc,="" and="" hit="" esc="" for="" boot="" options.="" i="" usually="" enter="" the="" bios="" screen="" and="" exit="" without="" changing="" anything="" (by="" this="" time="" the="" fans="" slow="" to="" less="" than="" 1000="" rpms="" each) ="" and="" the="" pc="" boots="" up="" with="" the="" fans="" at="" the="" lower="" speed.="" the="" fans="" stay="" low="" until="" the="" load="">

I hear fans ramping down when I do and reported by the BIOS fan status seems to support my theory that the fans really slow. Unfortunately, I do not yet have equipment controlling software installed on my PC so I don't see no confirmation of the fan speeds up when running in Windows 8. [HP has none of these tools?]

If I stop and restart Windows 8 normally (so that it uses its startup optimizations 'fast'), then fans seem to go for the maximum RPM.

The machine was purchase in Nov 2012: apparently not the internal dust is the problem and it would be not fixed by forcing a boot cold. I suspect that it is a software problem (I consider the offending software if it does not reset the hardware correctly at startup).

It seems that the fans turn upward but never slow down: is it possible to fix this? I wish that the machine to shut up when it isn't loaded (without having to reboot to get it that way). Otherwise, there is no performance or stability problems (yay).

    Hello..
This seems to be the problem with your bios on the desktop.
Discover the same fan speed if you have only the keyboard, mouse and the power cord is connected.
Also check out an update of the bios on the desktop.
This would probably solve the problem.
You have a bios update available on the HP Web site.

  • How can I fix computer that does not start after the fan turns phase?

I have a Compaq Presario SR5510F PC, Windows Vista Home Premium, AMD Athlon x 2. Lately, my computer is even worse at the start. When my computer starts, the fan should run for a few seconds, then it should stop and lead at the start with Compaq logo screen. But lately, the startup was completely terrible for my computer. Today, most of the time when I press the button in the box of the computer, the fan turns on and it continues to turn, and nothing comes on the screen. It isn't that rarely when the fan stops running, but then the monitor displays always upwards in white and VERY rarely when the startup screen appears, then it freezes on this screen. At this rate, my computer is totally useless when it does nothing but run his fan. This means that I can not go to boot options at all and go to the "last good configuration". What can I do to fix the computer when I can't have anything with her while she is empty?

It sounds like a hardware problem, not a software problem.  If the computer rarely gets past the BIOS (material audit) stage of the startup sequence, then Windows is is not yet involved in the boot process again.  Request assistance from someone trained in the skills of troubleshooting hardware since this can become very expensive very quickly.

  • Portege R500 fan turns and freezes

    Hello

I have a Portege R500 running windows XP. I seem to have problems with the fan turns very quickly upward and the laptop then freeze it. It sems happens especially when I remove the Cat5 network card and turn on the wireless network card. Toshiba have replaced the Module of cooling for me. I don't know if the problem is hardware or software, the problem sometimes at random, but as above especially when you remove the Cat5.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

This Toshiba recovery image or self created image this image that you use?
If you have noticed this problem with own laptop preinstalled (Toshiba recovery image) I don't think that it is software issue.

Did you speak with service days? I mean they should have enough experience with this model of laptop.

  • Qosmio G20 - left cooling fan turns noise at startup

After installing the BIOS ver 1.3, when the laptop computer powers until the cooling fan left running so strong, I thought it might burn or smoke.
After windows has completely turn on the fan turns off after about 5 minutes.

If I restart the pc, the fan is operating normally.
Has anyone else had this problem, can I might get their hands on the older version of BIOS?
    It is pulling my hair.

    Hello Anderson

Sorry, but your ad is a bit confusing to me.

    > If I restart the pc, the fan is operating normally.
Restart or normally power is almost the same. Updates means you have noticed this fan cooling problem once right after the BIOS?

Please watch carefully what happens the next few days. If the behavior of cooling is always strange I recommend you contact the service.
In the end, one thing is strange. Qosmio G20 isn't the newest model and this version of BIOS is not either yesterday, but you are the first person who has noticed this.

  • Fan turning endless on Satellite P300-20w

    Hello

I have a very big problem with my Thosiba. The fan is running and running...

    Sometimes when I do anything!
CPU is less than 40 °; GPU is 44 ° (Everest).
It's not hot, then why is this laptop so hard, why is the fan always running (is there more of a fan?)?

So I tried to reduce this NOISE by Vista-parameters and Powerplay... nothing changed...
So I tried to find something in the Bios settings... There is no other choice!
    So I tried Speedfan... nothing
So I tried some books below for air flow... nothing... it works...

I'm really frustrated... because as a musician and teacher, I bought this laptop to compose and converge... and now this noise... That's a shame.

I bought the laptop in may, so I do not think that the fans are dirty... oh man... and one thing apart from the noise, under Vista, I have freezing problems...

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

There is no special tools for the fan control.
But you can change some settings of Vista-> Toshiba Power Saver power management

    Here's an interesting how doc:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=41

You should take a look in the cooling method. If the CPU fan noise seems too strong, a setting that maximizes the battery life will also cause the CPU fan turn on less frequently.

  • Satellite Pro L series: fan always running even at IDLE when LAN is on

the fan always running even at IDLE when lan is on
Thanks for any help, that can stop the fan...

    Just see your questions:
What model of laptop do you have exactly?
    What system do you use?
What exactly do you mean by power of LAN?

I can tell you that the cooling modules are controlled by fan table stored in the BIOS.
Usually, the fan starts to spin if the CPU would be responsible for some unique applications/processes. It would also be possible that your fan is running continuously with low performance to maintain the low temperature. This isn't a real problem for laptop.

  • Satellite A300D - fan turns very hard and the laptop gets very hot

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as what to do with the overheating problem that I currently have with my A300D. I had the laptop for less than a year, it is still under warranty but I don't know where to go or what to do to fix it.

The problem: about two months ago, I noticed the fan turns very hard and also the laptop gets very hot. Now it runs so hot the laptop shuts down completely. The heat being driven out of the laptop is so hot! burn your my infact.

Anyone has any advice they could offer me.

    Thank you

    Hi James

You wrote that you have the laptop less than a year, so my question is this is already cleaned it?
The laptop needs to be cleaned every 3-4 months and I do this every 3 months. Whenever I do I m wondering how much dust out and after this procedure the portable is a lot cooler.

  • Satellite A135-S4666 - cooling fan turns on and turns off every 20 seconds

    Hello

I'm from the Argentina... I just bought a new Satellite A135-S4666 and I noticed that the cooling fan turns on and turns off every 20 seconds.
It is a little annoying and it disctracts me of what I'm doing... is there a solution?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Martin,

This behavior is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. If you find the noise irritating cooling fans you are likely to change their behavior by using the utility of Toshiba power where you should be able to set the cooling mode to run more quietly. I think trhe default is to allow the CPU to run at full speed, which will, of course, the fans turn every few seconds, but by reducing the speed of the CPU, the heat produced will be lower and therefore the fans will run less often.

    Kind regards
