Sorry for the late reply, but I did not have access to the MS Web site for a few months.

I tried your suggestions, they do not work.

The resolution is to do a repair of the operating system out of the CD.  Who cleared up the problem.

  • Your DNS server cannot resolve the names of Xbox Live

I had a link with my BEFSR41 version 4.3 and Westell 6100 Verizon.  The modem took a dump and was replaced by the 6100f (f is for f - you).  I can't connect to Xbox live.  The subject line is what tells me the platform.  Verizon says it's a router problem.  I opened the ports, turned on the DMZ and get this problem go away.  Any ideas?

DNS, Domain Name System, is how computers find other computers on the Internet. A problem with the DNS means that your Xbox 360 console does not know how to find the Xbox LIVE servers. In many cases, restarting your modem, router and another material (also called cyclic power) can solve the problem. It is to turn each piece of equipment and turn it back on in sequence. If you have not already done so, give it a try today...

If it doesn't work, access your router installation and click the status tab, open a page in Internet Explorer browser on a computer hard wired to the router... In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1... Leave the name blank username & password use admin lowercase... Click the status tab and check the Internet IP Address(it should not start with 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x)... If you have one IP address other than what is mentioned above, then it has to work, take no DNS1 and DNS2 and assign the DNS server manually.

    1. go to my Xbox and open Control Panel.
    2. Select network settings, configure the network.
    3. on the basic settings tab, select DNS settings, and then select manual.
4 Select the primary DNS server, enter your primary, then DNS server address.
    5. Select the secondary DNS server, enter your secondary, then DNS server address.
    6. Select done to save your settings, then try to connect again. It should work...

  • Vista fails to resolve the name of Server 2003 on a domain

I have several computers and two servers configured as a domain.

Server1 - Server 2008: domain controller, print server

Server2 - Server 2003: Server terminal server, file server

    V1 - V10 - Vista desktop computers

Recently an office has been infected with a virus. I clean with AVG Live CD and then with Avira. At the moment, it seems that the virus has disappeared completely.

As meeting the office in question cannot resolve the name NetBIOS of Server2, but find other machines on the network very well. I placed the entries in the file hosts and lmhosts with no effect. Connection via the address IP of Server2 works well though, so it doesn't seem to be a permission problem.

    Hello

I suggest you try to create the new user account using the command:

'control userpasswords2' run box or the start search box and then create the new user account.

Follow the steps for the same thing:

    a. click Start, type control userpassword2 in the search box and press enter.

  • Unable to resolve the computer names of task force

My Windows Vista laptop only shows itself as visible in the 'file' network and is unable to connect to other computers manually by typing the name (\\computer-name). My Windows 7 and XP workstations can view each other and the Vista laptop except they can't connect to the laptop (network in inaccessible resource).  All 3 are in the same workgroup and I tried to connect without a firewall as well.  The strange thing is when I try to ping other computers from the laptop, the "host is unreachable" if I ping the computer name, but very good pings if I ping to the IP address. If after the ping of the IP address, I ping the hostname again it pings fine. After that Windows 7, the computer icon visible and accessible and the XP machine is manually (but no icon) for a short period of time. After 5-10 minutes or I stop/standby host names can be resolved again and I have to start with ping them.

I have no idea why, but I've uninstalled and reinstalled the network card driver and it fixed the problem.

  • Windows 7 cannot resolve the ip addresses of domain names

I have a desktop computer that I built components purchased in a major computer store.  I got this system works well for several months, now.  Recently, however, I met a problem with one of the modules of memory of 2 GB.  I deleted (because it turned out to be defective) and, shortly AFTER his withdrawal, have another problem with the resolution of Internet domain name.  I have to say that I also installed my old Windows XP as an alternative OS and updated to sp3 (it is, in fact, that I use to access the internet and write this query).  As you can see, XP I have no problem with internet access or name resolution.  There are two other systems connected to the home network via wi - fi (one equipped with Windows Vista and the other a tablet PC running Windows XP Tablet Edition) and none of them have no access to the internet problem.  I ran ipconfig/release and / renew without any result.

I did all the following: netsh winsock reset catalog
    netsh int ip reset reset.log
    netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log.
    Still no access.
I opened regedit and went to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters and set the following registry value:
    Value name: IPEnableRouter
    Value type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 1 (this is the only value I changed - from 0 to 1)
I then exit regedit and reboot... still no access.  BTW: I noticed now that this entry (IPEnableRouter), nor any of its values, is no longer even exist in my registry.  I think it has something to do with my changing parameters of Cisco Linksys E1000 router to allow me access to my home network.  In addition, even if she says that I'm connected to my home network and the router, I don't see two other computers in the network, only the items that I share my desktop.
I changed the "Preferred DNS server" to 208.67.222.222 as instructed in a possible solution I found on the web (in XP, of course) and, when it does not, changed to 208.67.220.220 instructions, but no.  Still nothing.
I can access any Web site... IF I KNOW THE IP ADDRESS!  Unfortunately, my mind is not enough powerful or with enough RAM to remind all the IP addresses that I never go, not to mention every single IP address in the internet.
If I had remembered to I have copied to Notepad (so I could then copy here) the results of an ipconfig/all command, but I didn't.  If this will help, let me know and I'll get it and post it.  I know that some errors I have received are 'Windows could not automatically detect the network proxy settings"and"registration of the DNS records failed.  The parameter is incorrect"and" an error occurred during the liberation interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1: the system cannot find the specified file. "
Some of the results of an ipconfig/command all, I write down, such as those that came out as strange or maybe wrong.  They are as follows:
    Active IP routing: NO
    WINS proxy enabled: NO
    Host name: (empty)
    Suffix primary DNS: (empty)
    Node type: hybrid
DNS suffix search list: News:[email protected] (Yes, I use Road Runner by Time Warner, and no, they were not able to help at all)
    Other results:
    ISATAP.KC.RR.com tunnel adapter
State of the media: Media disconnected
    Card tunnel Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface
State of the media: Media disconnected
Please keep in mind that all computers connected to this wireless router have no problem with access to the internet and this computer can access in Windows XP but not Windows 7.  In other words, is there anything wrong with the router and nothing wrong with the wireless network adapter.  Besides, I tried to reboot the router and even resetting (much to the chagrin of my other significant because she was not happy with not being able to access the internet until I was finally able to re - install the router)
!).  I have also turned off my system, removed the card wireless adapter, waited for about 15 minutes, re-inserted in the PCI slot and return to market the system.  This, of course, did nothing, either.
After the search for several days and trying various tactics and bugs as suggested all over the web, I'm at the end of my limited knowledge and patience with this problem.  Any help that will solve this problem and allow my Windows 7 to access, once again, the internet would be greatly appreciated.  As a last resort, I might have to re - install Windows 7, but I also read the posts where others have done so, but nothing helped. :(
    Thank you

Two hard drives 1 TB SATA and a 250 GB HARD drive partitioned into a total of 10 discs
    Burner DVD HL-DT-ST DVDRAM

In fact, I have since fixed my problem.  Believe it or not, it wasn't any major and detailed process.  It was a very simple thing that NONE of the resolutions on that I read even suggested might be the cause, so I don't even think to check it out.  Apparently, at any given time a week ago, or NAME of the COMPUTER, something erased my!  I forgot how I found this, but I think that I went to my device manager by double-clicking on the icon "Computer" and select 'Properties' and happened to notice that, under 'Settings of computer name, domain, and workgroup', the ' computer name: "and" full computer name: "fields were empty!

SO, I clicked on 'Advanced system settings' on the left of the window properties, select the "computer name" tab (1st one at the top left of the window that has popped up) and down to "to rename this computer, click on change." I clicked on the button 'change... '. ».
In the next window which displayed I got the name I initially chose for my desktop, clicked the button "More"... ' and 'News:[email protected]' in the ' suffix main DNS on this computer: "on the ground (as is my Internet service provider - others may be different) and ensured that the box"Change the suffix main DNS when the domain membership changes"has been checked.
Then, I clicked OK on this window.  I then made sure that the "Working Group:" radio button was selected and typed "WORKGROUP" in the field below, then click 'OK '.
Return to the window' system properties 'original, I clicked 'Apply' and 'OK' and then restarted my system.
Windows 7 being loading, all of a sudden all these programs that were inactive for the past few days began to appear and load and update!  YAY! Laughing out loud
So, the reason I went into detail about how I solved it is in case anyone else has this same problem, they can check and, if the computer name has also been deleted, follow these steps to correct the problem. Of course, you will need to contact your service provider (if other than the Road Runner by Time Warner) in order to obtain the primary DNS suffix.  I hope this will help others I do not go through the terror I lived not having access to the internet.  Aaaaarrrrggghh!  I MUST have my internet! LMAO
  • Angular 2 http.get () fails with "cannot resolve the host name.

I am trying to get 2 angular (well, ionic 2 actually, but the call failure is part of the kinetic moment) to shoot some json from the web. My code works fine on iOS or Android (via Cordova), but fails on any call http.get () on 10 of BlackBerry. Initially, I had problems because I did not in the whitelist the URL I was trying to download, but after whitelisting now runs the get call, but always fails. The error message "cannot resolve the host name.

Does anyone have an idea why angular is unable to resolve an external host name when running on BlackBerry 10?

Never mind... my bad. I encounter this problem when running my Ionic/angular application on a simulator. For me to get always consistent on many simulators BB10 different IP addresses I've run, rather than to allow VMware Player feeding the DHCP server (because it does no reservations of IP), I run a TinyCore Linux server on the same virtual network as simulators, just so that I can use DHCP on the instance of TinyCore instead Allowing no reserves. Unfortunately, I did not complete the configuration of TinyCore properly so nothing on the virtual network becomes a valid gateway or the DNS server list to access the outside world.

When I run my application on my Z10 physics, it works fine.

    Any idea?

AVG is known to cause problems with OE.  One thing that must be done is to ensure that is NOT set to scan the mail.  I know that the only way in the past to avoid this problem is to uninstall AVG and then reinstall it with the email Scanner option is disabled.  I don't understand what else could be blocking, unless it is another program running in the background.  I have recently spent 6 hours trying to resolve a problem where a program installed on a computer just wouldn't work, and I tested it on another computer and it worked fine.  I turned off and installed in safemode, and he still wouldn't run on this computer.  I told my friend that computer, it is that the only thing left that I could think of to try to uninstall the anti-virus software (which will move without a name) and see if it would make a difference (I had already turned off all its services) and of course the program executed instantly as soon as the machine was gone.  So I put MSE (www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/) about it, and gave it to my friend.  The moral of this story is that the running software can interact with windows to break and sometimes the only way to identify the culprit is to get rid of all works we can imagine.

That said, I can't really fault necessarily on dysfunction something else installed on your computer, but if you went through all the hoops and it still doesn't, which suggests a background process running blocking things.  It is in any case my point of view on this.

    Another thing.  Under this key:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto

the hull | Open | order value must indicate:

    /Mailurl:%1 "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msimn.exe".

    but it is probably already.

  • Help! Account administrator - account limited - system indicates 'my computer name' listed as the administrator built-in locked out

I accidentally deleted my domain name (or user name) name of what I thought, it was the administrator account on my computer and have had problems with this terrible OS (Windows XP Home Edition) since then.

After reading so many different forums and comments everywhere you can imagine, I am inclined to believe that the account was in fact the built-in Administrator account Windows XP Home edition without an administrator account. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Now, I have more administrator access nor can I make changes or install programs and am extremely frustrated.

My account is now show as a guest, even if all my files are always available. Fortunately, the files were shared (at least this is what HP told me) don't know if I believe that all they said.

When I fell net user list all users on my computer, there is NO listed administrator account. I see my guest account, another account I have on the system with limited access and four other records that don't make sense. I also tried to access the account of SafeMode several times and still don't see it.

This is the information that is collected from the command net user:

The user shows my "name of the guest account; Full name is empty; Comment watch "of the computer or to the domain administrative account"; Active account, '' Yes. '' Membership in a local group, "Administrators"; Membership of a global group, 'none '.

So, I did a search on the Internet looking for more answers and came across a Web site that lists a likely solution (something new) because I assumed it was a registry problem (HP something else advised, in addition to the OS being corrupt, trying to add the administrator account), bringing my departure to HKEY_Classes_Root to check permissions for each user and possibly add permission for my so-called Administrator and guest account.

So I went to check the users listed in the registry under HKEY_Classes_Root and find the names of users or groups:

    1. administrators ("my computer name" \Administrator)

    2 creator owner - no

    3 system

    4. the user ('my computer name' \users).

So I followed the instructions and when it came to the part 'Search now', I clicked on the button to find the user accounts on my computer and found the following:

    Administrator - "my computer name.

    Comments (shows red (X))

    Guests (network)

    Help Wizard (shows red (X))

    Helpservers (network service)

    HP_Owner (interactive logon remotely)

    'Username guest' (service)

    "Another user name" (system)

and some other user... information irrelevant.

Now, I have a virus on the "another user name account" that I can't remove nor can I feed my antivirus because of the problem of the Administrator program. I also tried to save my files online and can not do it because I can not install any programs due to... Yes, the question of the administrator.

Can someone please, please tell me what can be done to fix this? I'm at my wits end. I don't think that it requires my withdrawal, repair and reinstall my BONES together. There have a solution to this problem. And I hope that's not the same answers as I read in so many forums that seem to give the same answer over and over again. Also, I apologize if I look a little rough, but I'm so very frustrated with this XP thing. I had multiple computers and different systems of BONE, which I've NEVER had any problems, but this XP thing is by far the worst I've ever seen in the history of my experiences with many computers.

    Help, please!

    joaynn

I understand your frustration.  However, one of the hardest parts to try to provide technical support through a forum like this (or by e-mail or phone even) communicates with precision between the problem and the person trying to help. Although your message is long, it raises more questions than it provides information.

    For example:

I am inclined to believe that the account was in fact the built-in Administrator account Windows XP Home edition without an administrator account. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Windows XP Home Edition, indeed there is a built-in Administrator account, but by default it is only available in Mode without failure.  Somehow, you managed a rename this account in all what you mean by , (b) accessible in normal mode, (c) leave it in the administrator group, but d remove administrative privileges on account of.

In addition, I don't know where you looked under .  As far as I know, there is nothing on the permissions of the user.  This website has the instructions you followed?

I suspect that the cause of your problem may be 'the' virus (there may be several) which has infected your computer, rather than what you did to your user account.  If you are able, I suggest to run each of the following free applications:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: malwarebytes.org [update after installation]

SUPERAntiSpyware: superantispyware.com [update after the installation or the use of theportable version , which needs no installation]

    Multi-AV - Instructions here:http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/01/09/scan-your-computer-with-multiple-anti-virus-for-free/

Although you're probably right, that reinstalling Windows is not necessary, it is the solution of many remote (including those in the forums like this) fall back on when he cannot understand what is happening.  At this point, your best option would be to take your computer to a competent local professional (not a type of BigComputerStore/geeksquad of the place) and let someone actually watch.  Tell them that you do not want to reinstall Windows.

Ask them if they can do a "repair installation" instead (although this cannot fix things in the case of a serious viral infection).  The difference between a repair facility and a 'clean install' or 'restore factory settings' is that the last two options delete all your data and all the applications you installed since you bought the computer.  A repair installation - if this works as expected - keeps the data and applications.  But it's always a good idea to back up the data before you do anything like that.

  • Cannot resolve DNS-server may be down-Windows Vista

I'm having an intermittent and repetitive problem on my laptop, which uses Vista Home Premium.

My internet connection will reduce and out of a few hours every few weeks.  Nothing works, not games, or msn or all browsers, including firefox, internet explorer and google chrome.  When I run "diagnose and repair", it will sometimes say there is no problem, then later say that my DNS server cannot resolve the ISP addresses, and the server may be down, and that the problem cannot be repaired automatically.  It remains down for hours to days in a row.  I have a wireless connection, which is shared with 2 other computers.  The two other ones work very well, to my knowledge.  Any ideas?  I am so frustrated with this.  :(

Oh and if you leave any ideas (which I appreciate), please keep in mind that I'm computer illiterate... I use especially programs games/internet/Word, and the words tech-type are completely lost to me.  If the details and explanations are greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

    bittyS,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

It would be useful to know a few more things.  What type of router you have which is shared by all the computers on your network?  What type of Internet connection you have - is - this cable, DSL, satellite, etc. ?  Who is your Internet service provider?  Other computers never have a problem with connection to the Internet at all?  When your computer loses its Internet connection, have you tried to reboot to see if it will come back and log in?  Have you tried to reboot the router (which is made by disconnecting the power, wait 30 seconds and reconnect).

I would recommend that you update the driver for your wireless interface card, it seems that it does not provide the connection and this could be a driver problem.  Here's how:
    1. open network connections by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, click Network and sharing Center then click on manage network connections.

2 right click on the wireless network adapter and then click on configure, then click driver then put to update driver.  Make sure that you have downloaded the latest driver from your manufacturer and loans.
