WAG354G AP via WRT610n

Hello

I would like to know how to properly set up my old wag354g as a wireless access point.

should I choose in the basic as 'bridge only' menu or 'rfc bridge "?

WAG354G will be linked by wire and wireless on laptops with b/g of food.

TIA.

Hi, it works now after the upgrade of the firmware of the 610n too.

Well, as I was, I activated 2.4 and 5 Ghz channels separately.

2.4 have b/g only and provides the wrt354g with b/g, as long as I kept the 5 GHz for myself.

Thank you.

While I'm the 'computer' guy for family and friends, I turned in the novice because of this; I'm lost and feel beaten.  Please be as complete as possible with instructions/answers.  Guess I'm a noob.

My plan is to use the WD external hard drive as a backup of my files and run the music/movies, etc out of it to my TV installation / audio salon through my Playstation3 or whatever.  My problem is simply to obtain the files copied to the external hard drive.  And being that this is a fairly simple HDD, I think that the issue could be with the USB (SIN) / configuration of the connection through the router.  That, or maybe there are authorization implementation issues.  I know that the HD has a setting for the mode 'sleep' - I did get to a point where I can adjust.  Anyway, I was able to get a record created but nothing to copy.  Then, I was (finally) able to delete the folder, etc..  I don't know if I'm missing some configuration/installation or if the scenario is just climbing.

And for those of you who know software MioNet and/or WD Anywhere Backup provided with outside, I have installed the software on my computer laptop but has not been signed by all accounts and do not use them.  So I think that they are not a factor.  Just thought I would include this info just in case it is important.

Here are several screenshots which can help you diagnose my problem:

  • IPSec VPN via UDP fails on WRT610N

    Hello

Using a Cisco VPN, user can connect, but after have connected you to all stops internet connectivity.
    IPsec uses UDP (NAT/PAT).
Anyway to turn it on? The router VPN Passthroughs are all enabled, I even turned on the UDP multicast filter...
    Nowhere else in configure anything?
The VPN profile works on the old WRT54G and a SMC router so I guess that's the WRT610N which has a problem?
    Thank you!

It should not make any difference for the connection if the relay is activated or not. The connection goes through the port UDP ISAKMP 450 that should always work. Disabling the VPN passthrough block ESP IP protocol that is used for data transfer. Your VPN client must then automatically encapsulation UDP Port 4500, which should work fine.

If the connection does not work once you turn off the pull-out decision, I'd say it's a bug. That should never happen. Check the logs in the client to see what happens, maybe, that there was a suspicion.

  • WRT610N can be used to connect to the net via the canopy wireless

Hi, I have a subscription fixed antenna wireless here in the middle of the rice fields and that connect you to the Internet through a Web Access Manager whenever I restart my computer. It looks like this:

The antenna connects to a brick of power with an ethernet cable, the brick also has an outgoing port that goes to my PC (and, hopefully, to a WRT610N). How to configure the WRT610N if I can share the connection with my other devices?

    Thank you!

Go to the router configuration page, click the Status Check if the router is able to acquire an IP address. If so, try to connect your computer to the router. You should be able to see the WAM page. I'm not sure how your ISP handles the user name and password on the WAM page. It might display the same WAM page on other computers which are connected to the router. We will try.

  • "NMH410 do not have access via the Explorer: name of local device already in use.

I can't connect with my NMH410 through Explorer. It worked fine, but I must have done something wrong. Device name Local message already in use keeps popping up, even after the removal of the former as links indicated elsewhere. I changed the name of the device backward (which may be where it started). Also devices that were not previously connected Gets the same response. I tried on XP and Vista. I have also a router Linksys (WRT610N) that had me install Home Network Defender. It was a pain to get rid of it and I would not be surprised if this is part of the problem.

I'm running out of options. I would consider same formatting for all start over, but prefer not because I have to get all my MP3 somewhere somehow... Help, please.

    Bart

    Hi bartled,

I suggest you try to do a hard reset on your NMH410. To do a reset, while the device in operation - press the reset for 10 seconds-, and then unplug the cable (keep pressing the reset button) - wait 10 seconds - reconnect the power cable (by pressing the reset button) - wait 10 seconds before you release the reset button. Once the lights are solid, check out the "friendly name" of your NMH410 via the LCD screen. It should be to the default name "Mediahub. Try to use 'Mediahub' on your browser and check if you can access the user interface of your device.

    See you soon!

  • WRT610N (hard drive problem)

I want to install an IOMEGA HD to my new WRT610N. When I use the LELA Setup it asks to connect the device via an Ethernet cable. Therefore, it does not recognize the IOMEGA.

I'm trying to conect via a USB cable. Can someone tell me if this is possible and how to do it. ???

    Thank you. Ray

I'm assuming that the WRT610N has already been implemented? I do not recommend jumping the LELA software altogether and establishment of external storage manually.  What is the current version of the firmware on the router?

The guide will explain how to access the web gui and the manual process to set up the external hard drive.

  • WRT610N files 0 bytes on the storage

In recent weeks, I have problems with the files to copy to my disc HARD tied on the USB port on the Linksys WRT610N.

Sometimes, files 'transform' into files - 0 - bytes and then are gone! This happens only in certain directories on the HARD drive, not all. When you connect via another PC, I can't delete it even more. Can someone help me?

I have the V1 WRT610n of Linksys, firmware: 1.00.03.B15 (later installed, removed HDD, reset 30 s, reconfigured it..) The HHD is a Western Digital 10EAVS (1 TB).

Wireless connections are OK: 200-300 Mbps, so no problem there!

    Thank you.

I found a solution on this forum, see link below:

  • Networkmodem EPC3925 with WRT610N

I was very happy to work with my WRT610N connected with the ethernetport of my previous internet modem. Recently I had to switch to a new CISCO EPC3925 modem. Unfortunately this combination no longer works. I do not get a Internet on my WRT610N more. So I have to connect all the computers (LAN and WIFI) for this EPC3925. Especially for WIFI, I'm not fully happy. Sometimes my IPAD2 does not connect, a problem that never occurred when connecting to the WRT610N.

Does anyone have experience with this combination? I probably need to change a setting, but where? In the EPC3925 or WRT610N? Thanks for your help.

    Edward

I have the operational situation. I made a connection to a Linksys modem directly, disabled the DHCP server, disabled NAT and plugged the router with cable modem/router via LAN port iso the WAN port. After that, everything worked well. I would also turn off the wifi of the EPC-modem. Everything is more ready without any problems! Good luck! I close the topic.

  • Degradation in speed WRT610N

    IT pro with a new router WRT610N - Firmware Version: 2.00.00 B05

Connection Internet is a cable modem of 30 MB and I have connections wired two gigabit for the WRT610N and two 100 MB wired connections and multiple wireless devices.  I use WPA-2 on both bands and MAC address filtering.  I have NO problem with the wireless, in fact, that it runs better than I expected.

HOWEVER, my internet connection the router's wireless AND wired connections is deteriorating in the speed of 25-30 MB up to about 5 MB on a daily basis.  If I just restart the WRT610N, back right connection speed shoots up to 30 MB each time - this leads me to believe that the WRT610N is the culprit here.  I don't have any special settings other than a few forwarded ports to my desktop and I don't see any wandering TCP connection when these speed degradations occur.  Even a restart of the computer has no effect.  Apparently, it is in the router.

I would like any suggestions you all have in this case - as I can hardly believe that I am the only person with these symptoms.  I have been using Linksys and Cisco equipment for many years and have never had a problem.

Please, let me repeat - this is NOT a problem with my wireless, so don't suggest things like disable MAC filtering and others - this is specific to the overall speed of connection to internet via the WRT610N Wi-wired connections AND.

    Thanks in advance!

Contempt, people... I found the culprit!

  • WRT610N and Motorola SB6120 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

I've upgraded to the modem DOCSIS 3.0 in October due to higher bandwidth offerings of Comcast cable.

Everything was fine until last week when I had recurring loss of Internet connectivity requires me to reboot/cycle my WRT610N and/or modem.

I updated the firmware of the currently displayed 1.00.03 B15 and reset the router.  This did not help the situation.

I also tried the suggestions mentioned here, including the Beacon Interval 75, threshold of Frag 2304, threshold RTS 2307, the wide-40 MHz Radio band.  Reset and cycled the router and modem after all this.  I also tried to power off my computer after each reset, all to nothing does not.

I'm still losing Internet conncectivity several times per hour.  LELA is unable to repair the connection.  So far, the only solution is to reboot the router.

Do I have a defective router (still under warranty), or is there a problem to interface with DOCSIS 3.0 modems.  Never had this problem with the old Comcast cable modem.

My WRT610N is version 1 material.  Wireless encryption is WPA - AES, recommended by Beaver in a previous post in August.  Nothing is connected to the USB port on the router.

I "x-out" the last 6 digits of my MAC address for security reasons.

I would be very appreicate suggestions.  I strongly suspect that I would like to order a replacement from Linksys via warranty RMA router.

    Thank you for reading this.

    Sincerely,

    Joe

Received the replacement router on 22-11-09.  WRT610N rebuilt with firmware v 1.00.03 B15.

Installed with the current LELA software.  Wireless laptop was runing Vista 32-bit, Wired PC on XP Service Pack 3.

Everything works normally again.  Replacement router dropped not a (wired or wireless) connection since its installation.

I find that my original router (bought about 3/09) was defective.

After replacement of the router, I upgraded my OS to Windows 7 (32-bit on laptop wireless, 64-bit Wired desktop).  No problem at all with the router.

    Hope this helps others.

  • Share internet connection - WRT610N support

    Hi all

    I'm looking for help.

    What I want to achieve:

    (1) I want that all my devices wireless - including my Philips TV - share media on the wrt610N using the 610N as my primary router.

    (2) I have a Thomson Speedtouch780 (my ISP, they call it the KPN Experia box). This device connects to the internet and is also a wireless routerwith. I want that all devices use this connection to access the internet.

I configured the WRT160N cable to my PC and a cable for the Thomson router. It works perfectly: my PC wireless can I connect tot the WRT610N and I can access the internet...

Now I want to disconnect the WRT610N router Thomson: I want it to be a wireless link (so I can put the art610 in a more central location). How to do this?

    My WRT610 parameters are:

    Basic configuration:

Internet connection type: automatic configuration - DHCP active

    IP address: 192.168.0.1

    DHCP server: enabled

    Start IP address: 192.168.0.2

IP address range: 192.168.0.2 to 51

    Basic wireless settings:

    5 GHz wireless settings:

    network mode: mixed

    Network name: Corleone_media

    SSID broadcast: enabled

    2.4 GHZ wireless settings:

    Network mode: mixed

    network name (SSID). Corleone

    SSID broadcast: enabled

    My Thomson parameters are:

    IP; 192.168.1.254

    Active DHCP server

    Starting IP address: 192.168.1.70

    Interface-information

    Interfacegroep: LAN
    TCP/IP-configuratie

    Adres van SpeedTouch: 192.168.1.254/24
    Eerste adres van DHCP: 192.168.1.70
    Laatste adres van DHCP: 192.168.1.253

    Auto-IP: People with disabilities
    DHCP server: Activated

Fix. A wireless as the WET bridge connects two cables ethernet via a wireless link segments. The RAIN will connect to your wireless router.

  • Could not access the external hard drive on the WRT610N

I recently bought the WRT610N router and updated the firmware version 1.00.02 B10 on it. I also have a 500 GB WD Caviar Green hard drive in an external enclosure to Koutech EEC320. I wanted to connect my HD in a configuration server network via the USB port on the router.

The first time I hooked it up, everything worked for the most part very well: I could go to the tab of storage on the utility line of router, put in place actions and other things. The problem was that I could not really give administrator rights to access the actions I put in place on the hard drive, so I couldn't change the files or anything like that. I would try to put in place the administrative privileges in the sharing settings, but they would never appear in the summaries of the part. I even tried to change the share name of the 'Default' which appears at random at one time, but this caused the group to disappear her privileges, and the 'failure' share to disappear (although the usefulness of reserves still the name for him) which means I can't do another flaw).

I have reset the router to try to get the sharing by default return, but now whenever I try to access the storage in the router utility tab, I get a blank screen, so I can't recreate all the actions on my HD Plus, every tab I try to access after the who end up in a screen blank until I restart my browser where all is well until I try to access the store again. This happens even after resetting the router several times and even reinstall the firmware once.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem in order to access and edit files on my hard drive through my network?

Yay! I got 'Default' on my HD! Now, it would be great if I could add permissions to actions so I can add more readers...

  • WRT610N and IpV6?

I have the last update of firmware posted the 1.0 model the WRT610N.  Test - ipv6.com is not reassuring, since pure IpV6 sites do not react, but I don't know if it's my router or some other problem.

The WRT610N will work correctly once IpV4 disappeared, or am I intended to buy another router?  Except if forced, I'm perfectly happy with this one.

    Thank you...

The WRT610N does not support IPv6.

But it doesn't matter. IPv4 has not disappeared. And will not disappear. At least for a very long time.

And as long as you don't need a site that is only accessible via IPv6 it won't matter anyway. And even in this case, Windows supports different IPv6 tunnels that allow your computer to use IPv6 even if your router is not.

  • USB storage, software packages and WRT610N Rev.2

    Hello!

I have two questions about WRT610N.

First of all. Is that a firmware update is coming for the second revision of WRT610N? It's been a while since the release of the current version. In addition, Linksys E3000 was revealed and looking into its hardware specification, it is quite same router with a bit of software update.

And on the other hand. I wonder about the firmwares, because I have little problem with storage connected to the USB port on the router. When I use the SMB protocol to download large files, my wifi connection can be moved, and NetBIOS service was corrected (specific Windows Event Viewer). After restored connection I can't use storage via SMB until you restart. FTP protocol works without any problem, but it is not so convenient.

It may be the problem with my laptop, but I already tried different versions of the card WiFi driver (it's Intel 3945 ABG), and I can't change my OS (it's Windows 7, and Yes, I tried to clean install). So, I really hope the new firmware or your advice. Someone at - it met similar problems?

Sorry for my English, I'm not native and thanks in advance.

Although Ubuntu SMB Server is much more stable and stronger, then the operating system Windows and Windows performs well when transferring file using SMS Service.

Maybe you can try to change some of the settings on your router, if all goes well, this should help you. Change MTU size on your router for 1300 and click on save settings... Then below click on the "Advance Wireless Settings" sub-tab and below to change the interval of tag to 75, change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304 and click on save settings...

Now, check if you are able to transfer large files from your computer to the USB storage...
