Networkmodem EPC3925 with WRT610N

I was very happy to work with my WRT610N connected with the ethernetport of my previous internet modem. Recently I had to switch to a new CISCO EPC3925 modem. Unfortunately this combination no longer works. I do not get a Internet on my WRT610N more. So I have to connect all the computers (LAN and WIFI) for this EPC3925. Especially for WIFI, I'm not fully happy. Sometimes my IPAD2 does not connect, a problem that never occurred when connecting to the WRT610N.

Does anyone have experience with this combination? I probably need to change a setting, but where? In the EPC3925 or WRT610N? Thanks for your help.

Edward

I have the operational situation. I made a connection to a Linksys modem directly, disabled the DHCP server, disabled NAT and plugged the router with cable modem/router via LAN port iso the WAN port. After that, everything worked well. I would also turn off the wifi of the EPC-modem. Everything is more ready without any problems! Good luck! I close the topic.

I'm trying to get a few dlink wireless bridges to work with wrt610n, but not having a chance.  I left Wrt610n router with the IP default '192.168.1.1' and configured accordingly bridges with addresses "192.168.1.xxx".

Wireless bridges is not happy.  Any ideas?  Bridges have been working well when I was with the IPS "192.168.0.xxx" with wrt610n

Sorry guys, the problem was the security setting wireless that I used on the WRT610N, not the addressing system.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Problems with WRT610N v2 + WAG54GS v1.0 of port forwarding

    Background:

I have a WAG54GS v1.0 (Appendix A) that I use to manage my home network and my ADSL connection. I bought a WRT610N v2 (which I will refer to as the router) with the intention that he would replace the functions of networking of the WAG54GS (which I will call the modem), who could be relegated to handling just the Internet connection. Both are running their latest firmware.

I got this configuration to work, but with a problem: I lost a lot of flexibility with regard to port forwarding. The problem is the only way I managed to get the Internet to work with the 192.168.0.1 router and the modem to 192.168.1.1. If I try and that you have both 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x then connect to Internet no longer works under any configuration options, I've tried.

What wants to say that when I go to port forwarding of installation in the modem, I can only forward to clients on 192.168.1.x, but the router can only transmit to 192.168.0.x. The only things that I can go to work are situations where triggering serial port can be applied, so that when a connection is made to the relevant port to an external IP address, and then this external IP address to communicate on this port. As you can guess this covers almost all cases.

    Question:

Would it not be possible to have the router and the modem on 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x, allowing port translation work as expected. Which should in principle be possible with the modem bridge mode except that it is impossible to configure the PPPoA settings needed to connect to my ISP.

Or I'll have to rethink the configuration of the network (i.e. buy a dedicated ADSL modem and remove entirely my WAG54GS?)

In fact in the end what I figured out was that according to my WRT610N concerned my WAG54GS is my ISP and that was all he needed to know on the Internet connection. So I had to connect to the WAG54GS with an IP address static, stuck that IP in the DMZ of the WAG54GS and left the WRT610N to manage port forwarding like all devices that connect will make it through that. (Yes, I've disabled features wireless of the WAG54GS)

I'm reasonably sure that I tried the combination of settings you suggested (including moving the WAG54GS off the Internet port on the WRT610N, which I wanted to avoid in any case as I have four devices permanently connected in any case) and found that it still does not. And I wasn't saying two to 192.168.1.1 set at any point, my darkened auto focus was that change only the last block of the IP address doesn't have to work for Internet access.

  • Quality of Service with WRT610N and Vonage

I try to get the quality of Service, in collaboration with my WRT610N and my Vonage device.  The WRT is connected directly to a cable modem, and the Vonage device is connected to the Ethernet 1 port.  I have configured the MAC address of the Vonage on the QoS tab as 'High' priority (done by selecting the 'voice device' on the drop-down list category).  In addition, I put my Vonage options (on the my account page of the Vonage site) to use the higher throughput (90 kbps, I think).  Any other setting QoS have been made.

However, the router seems not to be the QoS application at all.  If I do any kind of surfing at all (dragging around on Google maps to load new pages of satellite is a good test), the quality of voice over a call during Vonage is very choppy.  What I have to do something else to make sure that the Vonage device gets highest priority?

    Follow these connection parameter:

    Modem (DSL/Cable)-> VONAGE-> WRT610N

Your Modem must be connected to your VONAGE and your VONAGE Ethernet, plug it into the Internet Port of you router LINKSYS. You also check the VONAGE internet connection by connecting your PC to your Ethernet VONAGE before connecting the WRT610N router.

  • WRE54G amplifier does not not with WRT610N router

I'm trying to configue my amplifier wre54g to work with my new wrt610n.  I have configured the router to perform both G and N signals.  I have connected my expander directly into a laptop and and manually configured the expander control with the settings needed to connect to the router.  When I press "save settings" on the main screen, my browser reports a "your changes have been saved...". Reset. "  It lies on this screen and is going no where.    I then close the browser to go back on my screen.  Any suggestions?  From another post in the forum thit, some are able to operate and some are not.

It works... after changing my router for mixing (G and N), my Range Expander went online.  Fixed a problem.

  • Vonage VDV21-VD with wrt610N

I have a wrt610N and I connected it to my network and everything works well except for my vonage line. It's my network configuration:

DSL modem to linksys wrt610N to the Netgear FS516 switch. As I said the network is working fine and connected to the internet.

I tried to connect the vonage device everywhich way, but it does not work. I tried to connect to the router and the switch, but the two methods do not work. Any idea on how I can get my vonage device work with this configuration?

OK, I got it to work. What I had to do is unplug all network devices, wait 2 minutes and then start plugging in one device at a time. Also, I waited until what each unit carried out entirely. Good show.

  • compatibility issues with WRT610N and WMP300N security mode

Greetings from the experts out there. I have adsl AM300 + WRT610N pulled upward at home my receiving office on WMP300N wireless broadcasting (only 2.4 GHz wireless signal that I have disabled 5.0 GHz for troubleshooting). Get the best connection with the configuration below (WEP without authentication). I tested with WPA, WPA2, WEP with shared authentication. All these 3 combinations security mode does not allow my office to connect to my WRT610N router, which leads me to assume that there might be a problem with a pilot of the aircraft. The only link that almost succeeded was with WPA2 because I managed to get the LAN connected but not being is not able to connect to internet via AM300 so I have concluded that it is another problem too.

    (1) are you able to get a good market condition the Internet connection, using a computer that is connected to the WRT610N?

    (2) are you able to get a good market condition the Internet connection, using a computer which is connected wireless to the WRT610N, when no encryption is used?

If the answer 1 and 2 is Yes, then:

First of all, give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you use "linksys", you can try to connect the router to your neighbor. Also set 'SSID Broadcast' to 'active '. This will help your computer to find and lock on the signal from your router.

In addition, in the computer, go to your wireless software and go to 'Favorite networks' (sometimes called 'Profiles'). There are probably a few listed networks. Remove any network called "linksys". Also remove any network that you don't recognize or that you no longer use.  Delete your current network (this will remove all old settings.)  Restart the computer.  Return to "Preferred networks" and re-enter your current info from the network (SSID, encryption (if any) and key (if any)). Select your current network and make your network by default, then set it to auto login. You may need to go to 'settings' to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select 'Properties' or 'settings '.  Restart the computer.  The computer should automatically connect to your router (this may take up to 2 minutes).  If you're still having problems, temporarily disable your software firewall computer, then try again.

Note: For WEP, enter 'key WEP 1' (found in the router) in your computer, not the WEP password or passphrase.

If the above does not solve your problem, download and install the latest driver for your computer's wireless network adapter.

  • Slow connection USB HD with WRT610N

I have connected my router a FreeAgent Go 500 HD using the USB connection on the router.  The problem is that upload and download speed is very slow.  The average is 328 KB/s. They are a bit faster on my desk with a gigabit connection.  Should what settings I improve the speed of access to the hard drive?  (I have the latest firmware, and all other parameters are set to the default level).

I think you need to make changes on your wireless router, so improves the speed of download and shipping.

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 leave name empty username & password use admin lowercase...
For wireless settings, follow these steps: -.
Click on the tab - Wireless

This settings are at 2.4 GHz.

-Here, select manual configuration... Wireless network mode must be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID) in order to differentiate your network from your network of neighbors...

-Set the Standard - 20 MHz Radio band and change the Standard channel to 11-2, 462 GHz... Wireless SSID broadcast should be enabled and then click on save settings...
Please take note of the name of the wireless network (SSID) because it's the network identifier...
    For wireless security: -.
Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the mode of WEP wireless security, encryption must be 64-bit. Let the empty password, do not type in anything...
Under type of WEP Key 1 in all 10 numbers please (numbers only and no mailbox for example: your 10-digit phone number) and click on save settings...
Please note the 1 WEP key as it comes to the security key for the wireless network...

    Click the settings advanced wireless
Change the interval of tag to 75 > change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304 > click 'save settings '...
Now see if you can locate your wireless network and attempt to connect, and after this try download and put online on your storage drive and check what speed you get it.

Ditto for your 5 GHz Wireless Network.

Wireless network mode must be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID) in order to differentiate your network from your network of neighbors.
Set the Radio band to wide - 40 MHz and change the wide to159 channel and channel of the standard to 161 - 5.805 GHz...

    For wireless security: -.
Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the mode of WPA wireless security, encryption, select AES... Password input your desired WPA key. For example, MySecretKey, this will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and do not forget the key.
NOTE: The password must be more than 8 characters...

Try and see how is the speed of data transfer.

  • Having problems connecting WGA600N with WRT610N router

When I try to use the installation disk I get the following message "the Setup utility has been impossible to find games on your network adapter. Please make sure that your game card is turned and all cables are connected properly. I tried to reset the card, but not had any luck. Has anyone experienced this and have a solution?

    Never mind.

Thought about it when I walked into the implementation of the adapter.

  • WUSB600N with WRT610N

    Hi all

I just bought these two devices because the way I understood it, I would be able to use the two bands simultaneously to perform different tasks. IE streaming video on the 5 GHz while transferring the files/navigation on the 2.4 GHz. This has been made clear as a feature of the WUSB600N datasheet which can be found here (or here in the case where the link goes down)

For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to do, so I called technical support and while the lady was nice, his response was basically "no matter what the datasheet, you can not do this.

She is good? The adapter allows the two bands at the same time at all and even less to perform two independent tasks? If not, what is the advantage of having double adapters band when I use the 5 GHz band anyway?

    See you soon

    Yes, there are some advantages...

The 2.4 GHz band has a greater range (distance), but like an idiot, there are many devices making use of this frequency band (i.e. the potential disturbances in the signal). Another advantage is the compatibility of all 'old' adapters Wireless 2.4 GHz.

The 5.0 GHz band has a shorter range, but is active in a group that is less crowded, and you have more channels available, so there is more room if there is no other competing routers in the same band.

But if you have only one PC / server, it's a bit much IMHO.

Using two NIC on the same PC/server will you no good either, as I know, windows cannot manage (optimize) multiple network cards.

  • I need the G-Repeater for WRT610N

    Hi all

I need to extend your wireless network.
This network is expected to cover the four floors of the dwelling house.

I have the WRT610N router operates in mixed mode.

The router is installed on the 3rd floor and covers the 2nd (weak signal), 3rd (excellent signal) and 4th floors (good signal).
1st floor is not covered or too bad, it's covered.

Uses of PC main (large NB) N. He remains close to the router on the 3rd floor.
Other NBs uses G, and they are more mobile. But they were not able to connect to the 1st floor.

How can I extend the Wi - Fi coverage for 1st floor?

I know WRE54G and WAP54G only, which can function as Expander and repeater accordingly.

Which of them will be compatible with my mixed G, translated by WRE610N?

WAP54G works only with WRT54G or WAP54G in Repeater mode. You can use WRE54G with WRT610N which repeats the wireless signal.

  • WAG320N & WRT610N

    Hello

I try to use WAG320N with WRT610N. 3 computers will access WAG320N using Wi - Fi connection and computer 4-WRT610N (once again using the wireless). I used WRT610N with another modem adsl without configuration, but now it does not work. Users can connect both device, but not internet access WRT610N.

How can I solve this problem?

Connect a computer to the WRT610N. Unplug the WAG WRT. Open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/

    On the main Setup page:

1 replace the address LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.2.
    2 disable the DHCP server.
    3. save the settings.

Now, unplug your computer. Numbered one of the LAN ports on the WRT610N wireless your WAG. Do not use the internet port on the WRT.

Now you have setup the WRT as simple access point and ethernet switch to your network. Everything is connected on the LAN WAG.

  • WAP610N wireless

I've just set up a WAP610N with WRT610N router.  The router has been used for 6 months, no real problems.  I'm trying to get better coverage on the floor, so the AP.  I finished the installation program and thought I was ready to go.  When I try to go said that Network Magic wireless, the AP is in offline mode.  The AP shows the LED illuminated wireless.

I'm missing something obvious, I believe.  I have upgraded the firmware AP; router is up-to-date.

Suggestions in how to get the AP online using wireless.

Yes, you can go for WAP4410N because it supports Repeater mode.

  • Cannot access the Internet through WET610N to E4200

I have a number of devices which do not have the built-in wifi and WET610N allows you to connect wirelessly to the Internet.  It worked with WRT610N router, but when I upgraded to router E4200 to Internet access no longer works for WET610Ns.

Internet access works very well with the adapter wireless from my computer, but the WET610N tests on my computer port ethernet confirms unable to connect to the Internet.  Utility says Windows Server Troubleshooting DNS cannot be found.

Seems you have to assign a static IP address to each client using a bridge to connect wirelessly to the network of E4200.  You can have the IP address of the client in the list of booking E4200 DHCP.  The client will not have access to the Internet if their IP address in the DHCP reservation list.

I have a big thank you to Linksys support for not sharing this information.  Try to put the blame on the bridge wireless and then try to charge me support because my WET610Ns were no longer under warranty.

  • Storage of USB STICK 16 GB Duracell (FTP gel...)

I have a lot of problems with my WRT610N Version 1.0 with the help of a Duracell 16 GB storage USB STICK (gel etc...). When copying large files (1 GB) in FTP, the router freeze and also the internet connection is cut off, I have to power/turn off the router. I did tests with Duracell USB formatted in NTFS and FAT32 also. The Duracell USB works fine connected directly to a PC.

If I use an another USB STICK as Verbatin EVERYTHING is OK.

Do you know a fix for this problem? Is there a list with brands of USB keys tested?
