  • What happens when Task Scheduler is scheduled to wake the computer from sleep mode

I have the windows vista Task Scheduler to wake the computer from sleep to run a command script. some tasks in the script work correctly and some do not. This is because the computer is "awake from sleep", whatever that means. This is not what is happening, because the tasks that the batch script runs when the computer is actually on, with display and all are very different tasks, it runs while the computer gets "awakened from his sleep", so what happens exactly when the task schedler wakes up the computer of mode sleep under vista? How is it possible to emulate a real awake state with the Task Scheduler to a State of sleep, according to a schedule?

  • wake the computer to run an antivirus scan

Is it possible to activate the computer to run an anti-virus scan?  I use The Shield antivirus program, and when I schedule a task to wake the computer and a scanner, it is unclear what part of the computer to scan and so he does nothing.  I don't know if the field "argument" is where I said what file to be reviewed or what, but I couldn't begin to know what to put as the argument anyway.  I can program the computer to run a scan when he's awake.  There is a task called awake auto that wakes the computer; It is a task that I could plan to run before the antivirus scan to allow the scan to run without the Task Scheduler from the analysis?  Do you know if the task of awakening auto has a path?

  • Card power management half wakes the computer to Windows 7 network

I'm trying to implement the jobs of the company for wake on LAN and strange problems. I have two identical workstations except one is 32-bit and the other is 64-bit.

Each is an identical model HP and have identical network interface cards with drivers identical version and date.

Yet, the power management options are different, and the awakening of behavior is different as well.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002bE10318} \DeviceNumber

The 32-bit computer, when PnPCapabilities. is the 280 value keeps the setting after reboot and load Windows.

However, resetting back to 24 PnPCapabilities 64 bit machine or maintains 100 if set for it, but never loads Windows.

Which means, the NIC wakes the computer, lights flash, screen flashes, but never actually loads Windows...

When I move the mouse to close the photo screen saver, it lags and takes some time.  Sometimes dry 3, sometimes dry and sometimes almost a minute 10.  I tried Win 7 Photo screen saver and Windows Live photos screen saver.  Both are defined to mix and to start after 5 minutes.  I never had this problem with Vista.  Didn't know if anyone having this problem.  If I have just a preview of the screen saver and the computer wakes up immediately.  Everything seems to lag after that comes the screen saver after 5 minutes and extends over some time.
