Hello

I have DC 2008 R2, I applied the desktop wallpaper group policy under: -.

> User configuration>Administrative Templates >Desktop>desktop wallpaper

Image file that is stored locally, I checked with the local path and the UNC path that is accessible from the client.

In path of control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Personalization his watch the name of wallpaper I applied, but it is black background wallpaper applied is always accessible from the client.

My client computer group policy reflecting is not with my strategy of Group of DC. There is no change in > User Configuration>Administrative Templates >Desktop>desktop wallpaper in the Client.

  • Wallpaper does not display Windows 7 Home Premium

About 5 months ago, I came across a problem with my screen.  It worked fine until I changed some settings, and I couldn't change my wallpaper.  I struggled with this problem for about a week or two until somebody posted a panacea: "Open %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\ and remove the TranscodedWallpaper.jpg and remove the content slideshow.ini.", and it worked!  -sort of.  Now the problem is, that I ALWAYS selects the photos do not appear on my desktop wallpaper.  My customization on my control panel settings seem to be save my changes.  I can still change the color of the desktop background (blue, black, red, or anything else.)  And the photo I choose and record also appears under the TranscodedWallpaper.jpeg, so it seems not to be corrupt.  And something I found odd, I see my desktop wallpaper selected just before my laptop shutsdown, and that's all.  I have no idea what is going on, and this problem got really annoying.  Any help will be highly appreciated me.

    Hello

Check whether your copy of Windows is activated?

Follow the mentioned below of the methods to work on the issue.

Method 1: Perform the steps in the article.

Impossible to change the background image in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2504610

Method 2: Perform a clean boot to verify if a third-party program prevents the display wallpaper.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After you perform a clean boot, perform step 7: reset the computer to start as usual of the above article.

Method 3: If the problem continues, check if all the user account control settings are a cause and to eliminate it, you can create a new user profile and see if the problem is resolved. Follow the steps below to create a new user account.

    a. open accounts to user by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
    b. click Manage another account. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    c. click on create a new account.
    d. type the name that you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click create an account.

If the problem is resolved by creating the new user profile, you can copy the files from the profile corrupted in the new profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you just created

Follow the steps mentioned in the link fix a corrupted user profile

  • Add the .jar to the Windows Server 2003 Group Policy

So I have an executable JAR file that is intended to run our ads system employee. It reads the data from a separate txt file and displays it in a JFrame. My goal is to have this launch when you connect to all the computers in the workstation. The program works great! However, I can't start automatically. I added to group policy, as well under Windows Logon and start the system. I added as a .jar, such as a .bat, not even as a shortcut... no dice. Is it possible to get a .jar to run automatically at Windows logon via Group Policy?

Also, I realize that JRE must be installed on all computers in the workstation for the .jar run. This isn't a problem, as many of our programs already require JRE.

  • What is client group policy?

It doesn't let me access my account.  I share the pc with my partner.

    Hi Calvin,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

According to the description, you cannot share the computer with your partner that you are facing problems with Group Policy client. Am I wrong?

1 did you changes to the computer before the show?

    2. do you get an error message/code?

Group Policy in part controls what users can or not do on a computer system, for example: a policy of complexity of password which prevents users to choose a password that is too simple, to allow or prevent users not identified from remote computers to connect to a network share, to block access to the Windows Task Manager or to restrict access to certain folders.

  • New want: set group policy not available in this edition of Windows 8?

Just before I used my recovery on Envy 6 partition I bought less than a month ago, I tried to define group policy in order to take control of my administrator account. I received an error message: "group policy is not a feature of this edition of Windows 8.1."

I knew My Envy 6 security problems (in my opinion, nothing to envy about it...) since I got it.

I have known this same problem several times, with different computers, then perhaps it is not just HP.  However, I spent the time shared an office with two of its engineers, who blew me subject my security concerns.

What happens first, did someone other than I turn my computer and started using my machine as a distributed resource.  When I look at the resource monitor, the memory usage remains at a stable level around 30%; the window of the disk (Disk 0, I presume) remains at about 100%, for several minutes after I started working.  There is evidence that copies of the countless applications are pushed through this channel to an unknown person to me.

In other words, it's like I had to work in a large company where administrators are able to share my computers memory and storage (and also, copies of programs on my machine) with others.

Yesterday, I took my machine at Best Buy Geek Squad for the third time since I bought it less than a month ago.  For the first time, they have me seriously on this security issue.  Yesterday, the fourth time I used my security partition, (once I had looked into the Task Manager and saw more than 50 tasks scheduled to run when the machine has been slowed and on current alternative) I decided to see what would happen if I leave the fully charged battery to work.

What I saw, it was a machine to panic.  I saw a sequence of four first screenshots, then a flash of a task list, and then a series that looked like screen shots again - this time fourteen of them.  I watched it happen to three different times.  Then, the machine made me a 'Capital A administrator' password, which I didn't.

I looked around resources here and on Windows and discovered that I could access boot options by turning on the machine and pressing the ESC key.  I ran through the list of options there and finally chose EFI, where I finally has two ways to start at an unknown address.  So that's another trick of Geek Squad was in order (I bought their contact service when I bought the machine, what the devil).  This time there was pretty much irrefutable evidence that something was wrong at the level of Internet security.

I realized that it is way to much information.  I'll ask just once more the question: is it possible that my brand new machine doesn't really have a 8.1 Windows edition that does not include the ability to group policy management?

Thanks to all who responded here.

    Hi @ElizaDoolittle8

Thank you for your request, I am happy to help you!

I understand that you have some security issues. You have taken your computer to the Best Buy Geek squad, 3 times and have used the 4 times recovery partition.

Only Windows 8 Ultimate and professional have the Group Policy Manager.

I suggest you do a full restore in the factory.  This will remove all the threats that may be installed.

If you don't have virus protection, I would say that you install one because it would help.

Performing a recovery of HP (Windows 8) system

During the recovery process, you will have an option to backup your personal files to avoid loss.  If you do not have a recent backup I suggest you only do one now.

Restore files that have been supported to the top using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 8)

Here is a link to a YouTube video.  Desktop version of Windows 8 open the Group Policy Management Console

Here is a third-party link to How to activate 'Group Policy Editor' (gpedit.msc) in Windows 7 Home Premium, Home Basic and Starter Editions? who, according to some readers have worked for them.  You can try it, but I don't know if it works or

    not. (of A? KVG)

    I hope this helps.

It's the ball that appeared recently on my desktop whenever I log in Windows 7 Ultimate x 64. Someone knows how to fix this? Please help me as soon as possible :(

I FOUND THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM!

The crash of your computer during updates Windows caused which!

I had this problem on my laptop since November, and it really annoyed me.  I sifted through the event log and found the model of events leading up to the issue and, probably, he did.

In short, the model is as follows: Windows updates automatically run as planned, and when restarting is launched after the updates are complete, the computer crashes (probably during the reboot sequence).  When starting, it signals that the last stop was not planned, and the question starts to happen.

I spent 2 days trying to dig a solution by Internet, without success, until I came across this page.  It says nothing about this particular problem, but it gives more information on the SVCHOST process that launches many services, including Group Policy Client.  It seems that when restarting vital registry settings have been lost during the accident and Group Policy Client 'do not know' how to start.  Let me explain:

There are two places to look in the registry:

    1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services this path must contain gpsvc key (a record), which is responsible for the configuration and service settings.  I found the key was intact, so you do not touch anything here - just check that the key exists.
    2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows svchost It's the most important way you should look at in, because it should contain keys and values under the #1 key.  Here are descriptions of what must be present there.
    • There must be called GPSvcGroupmulti-string value. My laptop was missing it.  Thus, you must create the multi-string value called GPSvcGroup and assign it the value GPSvc.
    • Then, you must create a key (a folder) and name it GPSvcGroup - this key should normally be there, but, again, that it was missin on my laptop.
    • Open the newly created GPSvcGroup folder, then create 2 DWORD values:
    1. First called AuthenticationCapabilities and you must give it a value of 0 x 00003020 (or in decimal form 12320)
    2. Second, called CoInitializeSecurityParam , and it must have the value 1.

When you have finished all the above steps, restart the computer, and the problem will be solved.

I'm so relieved that I could remedy and hope this will help others with the same question.

  • In Printer preferences group policy: printer appears but does not define itself by default

    People,

I have my shared network printer installation group policy preferences. I have ensured that the Restrictions point and print are disabled in the parts of the user and the police computer. Each preference has a targeting rule that identifies computer names to apply this printer too and also users run in the security context is selected, both the game as default printer checkbox is checked. Mappings check only 1 printer is defined as the default value with pc.

When a computer maps the printer on the initial user connection (IE when their roaming profile is created), it appears in the list of available printers and devices, but it is not defined by default. It gives an error when you try manually set as default: 0 x 00000709. I looked into the case of the newspapers that I see that the reason is not defined:

The following information is part of the event: user, , printers by default {AA8B60B5-0555-45BD-9A8F-FAFA4D3DB7D8}, 0 x 80070709 the name of the printer is invalid...

I looked at the registry of the user and NO connection string is displayed in HKCU\Printers, as I expect the error!

If I then remove the printer from the list by right-clicking and choosing to remove the instrument and then type GPUPDATE to refresh policies, the printer is remapped and made the value by default as I expect. Once this has been done the printer seems to work for subsequent connections by the same user.

If you don't remove this error persists.

Anyone know what is happening because of the initial connection to fail map the printer properly?

    Thanks for any help,

  • Group Policy does not apply on Windows 7 with the Windows 2008 R2 domain controller

Trying to troubleshoot a GP associated question where, seems, desktops (Win 7 Enterpise) do not receive the last group policy.  He doesn't seem to get at some point after an arbitrary time period (two or three weeks), but it is insanse.

-Have you checked with the GPMC (connect to each domain controller individually) that all four domain controllers are running the same GP later version; no replication errors.

-No errors appear on the workstation or server logs (logs\winlogon or event viewer-> Group Policy).

    -gpupdate/force runs without error

-gpresult and RSoP both supplement fine, watch the GP is be applied correctly, to APPLY THE OLD GP SO!

-No error up with whent the following undocumented debugging is also enabled: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Diagnostics] "GPSvcDebugLevel" = dword:00030002

So, my little finger tells me that the problem is the GP are not be tire/replicated/either at the workplace in a timely mannger (reboot, gpupdate/force, etc.) but do not know how to see what is the interval, troubleshoot, etc.

Hello, wanted to begin test Persona display management, of what it looks like its not difficult to install, however I can't find the group policy, the Viewpm.adm.

or on the servers of connection in C:\program VMware View\server\extras\grouppolicyfiles

The Viewpm.adm is not in these two places.  There is a v4v_desktopagent.adm, but it is not good policy.

Ive looked in other servers for it as well as our server composer\vcenter and security servers.

I don't see a download of VMware for it.
