  I read about how print settings return to printing on glossy greeting card, when printing to your craving for 4500 on Windows 10. I wanted to reach out to try to help you with my own suggestions in this case.

  I think that maybe the print settings are only changed for a single print job. See this link and make sure that you change the printing parameters for all print jobs: change the settings for printing (Windows 10)

  If the parameters have always come back, try to run the print and Scan of the doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all conflicts that may be causing the problem. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there is a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. Please include these results in your answer to me.

  If the problem persists, uninstall the printer, restart the PC and then run the Installation Wizard for Windows HP printer to reinstall the appropriate driver and software.

  Since my last post, I uninstalled the HP software and reinstalled.  Now, I have HP printer Assistant and so much more control over my printing and scanning. Previously I could not use the touch screen on the front of the printer.

  I see that you are having connectivity problems. I would like to help with that!

  I have a couple of steps that I would recommend.

  First of all, I would recommend a power reset the printer.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

  Second, I would say after the steps described in this document:

  Also, I recommend disabling the firewall.

  It seems that failed to print to PDF prints are a problem for other institutions. Looks like you can change a setting in printers and Scanners which determines whether Windows manages your default printer or not.   In the Envy Series 4500 HP printer Assistant under 'Manage the computer analysis' that one is supposed to be able to click on a checkbox so that the feature is enabled on startup (Windows connect).

  .. Finally managed to do work, and the solution was simple. I only had to start the wizard by using 'Run as administrator' (right-click with the mouse on the icon), and then the desired option is clickable.

  Support HP BTW began to ask what version of Windows (by e-mail), I was using - just embarrassing. Well, at least they don't recommend uninstalling all other drivers, wait 30 seconds and reformat the drive.

  I just replaced my Photosmart C5280 All-in-one with an fancy 4500 all-in-one printer/scanner. To my horror the 4500 want does not scan to Searchable PDF Format. (I find this very dissapointing and think it should be clearly advertised on the box.)

  My Photosmart C5280 OCR software must always be installed on my computer (Windows 8) and there are OCR software on the market. But is it possible (installation, download, purchase, etc.) to get the 'Searchable PDF' option available to the envy of 4500 software of scans? I want to prevent additional steps for each document that I will be scanning.

  A lot of HP printers have this add as an option. Customers can download from the site of the 3rd seller, install, then activate. During the activation process, it will check the printer and if in the list, it will activate the software otherwise it won't and the softeware will expire in a week or a month (I don't remember).   I saw your post about your desire to 4500 disconnect permanently. I can understand the argument with this and want to help where I can.

  I have studied this issue and found a specific guide for you to follow to help maintain the wireless connection. It usually is something blocking the communication or causing it to disconnect and this will help target which emit to overcome.
