Want to C9D77AV #ABA: win 8 misconfig "Normal startup".

I just recently had service works by HP. He has also been reset to factory. Before that happened my misconfig has been fixed to selective startup in misconfig. I don't remember if it came this new way or they say come back to my my pc settings configuration.

I tried to change Normal startup, but it restarts always in selective. It seems I read somewhere that the all-in - one pc Win 8 is set to selective to make an easier start.

Can you give your opinion on this. My pc is ready to be updated to 8.1. I just want all correct before moving on to something more after the reset. I updated Win updates and updates from Hp.

Thank you, I like to find answers here.

Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP support forum.

It has nothing to with Win 8.1 pass so you can pass without problems of any kind with respect to the msconfig.

There is also nothing to do with the all-in - one PC, it's the same thing on the shelves, laptops, desktops, etc...

Normal startup load all - services, drivers, original standard boot configuration.

Diagnosis commissioning is the name of the mode called Mode safe

Selective - you can choose to disable certain things - in fact, there are many people who are on this point - if you choose to stop or disable a 'standard' service or some program autorun entry, etc.

With regard to the 8.1 update, here's an official article of HP with a few tips and instructions > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03847367

    Hello Hitesh1326 ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about wanting to downgrade your PC Win10 for Win7 and wanted to help.

This is really NOT a good idea. Why? Unfortunately, there is no HP Win7 drivers for your device. Since it came with pre-installed Win10, HP provides drivers for older operating systems for this.  If you want all the features of the machine, you must consider restore on his original version of OS preinstalled.

There are possibilities, with equipment up, that there is simply no Win7 driver that will work.  Manufacturers of new material today generally don't write drivers for an OS that is almost 10 years old now.

My own advice does NOT downgrade, because you could very well be left with a PC for which some material does not.

If proceed you with the downgrade, then try to use Windows updates to find the drivers from Microsoft deposits for your device: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03330139

If you then run into trouble, install the drivers through Windows Update, you can try to use of Microsoft Windows Update Troubleshooter: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/open-the-windows-update-troubleshooter

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

I select normal startup windows with my Windows XP Pro OS, but he wants to go to debug in safe mode.  (1) how to get back to normal?  (2) how do I change of start up of parameters in order to reduce unnecessary programs that open at startup?

    [Moved from comments]

    Hello

Difficulty the two of them from start > run (or Windows key + r) > type in MSCONFIG and

    Press ENTER.

On the general tab, select Normal startup. Click OK.

On the Startup tab, uncheck the programs that you want to remove the starter. Be careful.

So that you prevent an essential program to start research unfamiliar programs.

If you see a "selective startup" message every time you start, click on do not show this message (or the same choice.)

  • Acer Predator running win 8.1 that I want to upgrade to win 10. What recovery disc?

I have an installed two years with Win 8.1 old Acer predator. I want to upgrade to Win 10, but I'm concerned about what will happen if I get a hard drive at some point failure. Should I pay for another set of recovery disks? Or will I have to install Win 8 of the discs I have, then move to 8.1, and then to win 10?

If your HARD drive dies, you can use your recovery disk windows 8 and then switch to 10 without going through 8.1

    but...

I can suggest an easy way.

You can create an image just system after the upgrade to windows 10, have your drivers updated to version 10 of windows and make sure that your system is stable.

After that, with the windows tool, you can create the system image on DVD or external HARD drive and use it to re - install your copy of windows 10 as you just improved.

    http://www.CNET.com/how-to/how-to-create-a-system-image-in-Windows-10/

to use an image from windows system, you need a windows bootable 10 installation media but it's easy to get from microsoft:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

Download the .iso file and burn it to a DVD.

then, at the end, you start from the DVD and choose repair your PC and select to load the image of the system.

If Pro 10 Windows was preinstalled on your computer, see how in-depth instructions downgrade:

How Downgrade Windows preinstalled 10 for Windows 7/8.1

As mentioned in the article, it is your responsibility to facilitate access to Windows 7 Professional reinstall media. He may be borrowing retail upgrade or full version of media or OEM System Builder.

You can use the following utility to download the ISO of Windows 7 Professional:

Microsoft Windows and Office ISO download tool - HeiDoc.net

Instructions for activation phone activation use after decommissioning in detail article I linked at the start. No need to buy Windows 7 Professional.

Instead of replace, you might want to consider dual booting:

How to: Dual Boot Windows 7 or Windows 8 with Windows installed 10 first

If what you bought is an OEM System Builder Windows 10 Pro license, then you can indeed buy Windows 7 Professional.

Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

    Full version (retail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

    -Expensive

    Upgrade version (detail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

-Expensive, but less expensive full version

    OEM System Builder version:

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)

  • I want to upgrade to win 7

    Separated from this thread.

my vista machine won't allow new IE or Chrome.  Web sites works only with IE 9

I want to upgrade to win 7.  (impossible to go to win 10).  HP does not provide win 7 drivers for my computer.   expert HP Forum hp claims that vista drivers work with win 7.   Suggested to download all the drivers on a jump drive ahead so they can be installed manually if there is a problem... Does seem legitimate?

Chrome version 49.0.2623.112 is recent and taken in charge. I install and use it until you can find another solution.

Windows Vista end of support is April 2017, then you should really consider upgrading to Windows 7. Both Vista and Windows 7 share the same driver model. Windows Vista (version 6.0), Windows 7 (version 6.1), so you should be able to use Windows Vista drivers without problem.

    System: Windows Vista 64-bit

When I start my computer, it stops with the blue screen of death because of the SRTSPL64. SYS error.  I understand that this error comes from Symantec Endpoint that I am running on my computer.  Symantec is provided by the University I attend because users must have a valid antivirus program up-to-date and to access their wireless system.  I want to delete Symantec, but I can't get my calculation to start so I can access the menu to uninstall programs.  I can't uninstall in 'Safe' mode because the Windows Installer is not active.  HOW TO MAKE MY COMPUTER SYMANTEC?

    Thomas,

Follow the step on the next page to start the computer in Mode safe.
Once you start the computer Safe Mode, the built-in "Administrator" account should appear. I'm not saying that your user account is not an administrator account, but just to be sure to use the one built for all purposes it may serve you.

    See you soon ~!
  • Don't deselect the option "Normal startup"

Recently, I opened MS config and selected the upper circle (normal start-up) when it has been necessary to remove a Trojan horse on the hard drive.  Once it has been deleted successfully, I returned in MS Config to deselect this circle and return to the usual load of all startup items. Although the system allow me to select two items under this circle, I can't deselect the top circle. (When I first entered this file, none of the circles has been selected).

Now, the startup is very limited and the screen display is the minimum resolution. I have to return the display whenever the computer is turned on. How can find us the usual loading programs and automatic adjustment of the screen high resolution?

Like Windows XP and Trend Micro anti-virus. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi SLWillig,

    1. What is selected now start mode? Is this Normal, Diagnostic or selective startup?

I suggest you put the computer to Normal startup mode that will help you to load all the drivers of devices and services and also the startup items. Follow the steps below:

    a. Click Start and then click Run.

    b. type msconfig and click OK.

    c. the system dialog Configuration utility appears.

    d. click on the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    e. When prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

It seems that your machine never ends the start operation.  Probably a bad driver on the disk.

If I were in this situation, I would like to boot from a CD boot disk, back up my files and reinstall Windows.  In the long term, it would be quicker than to try to find the problem and fix it.
