  Have you checked for dust in the radiator?

  With the laptop off, use compressed air to blow the dust out of the heat sink. Spray the air into the unit where the Air goes out usually.

  If there is excessive dust accumulation, you may need to get an ASP to disassemble the laptop to remove dust properly, then refresh the thermal grease.

  installed new xp (sp2) on the acer 5100. not found drivers on the acer site. all works except a broadcom wireless adapter. no shows in the wireless network connections. I went to the acer driver download page for my specific model and the os. as well as drivers for xp 32 bit, I have used, there are 32-bit drivers for vista and mce. so I downloaded the drivers for each wireless. tried the flavor of the mce. It worked. Wireless works fine.

  I am tempted to cancel the installation of the driver and to return to the previous state to see delicate suggestion might work, but I don't want.

  My 27 2011 iMac OSX 10.8.5 becomes very hot, I can barely hold my hand on it, I'm only using Firefox & Mail.

  Other problems are:

  Dust accumulation is not in the fans themselves, but in the space between the fans and the CPU radiator, where it is trapped by the matrix of cooling.
