I can't turn on Windows Defender, nor can I open it upwards. The error code that is displayed is 0x8800106ba. What does this code mean?

    Hi, tonytiger34.

The usual solution to this error is to make sure that the service is automatic. Oferror message when you run Windows Defender: 'Error 0x800106ba Code' :

"To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

    1. Set the Windows Defender service on Automatic rather than Manual or disabled . To do this, follow these steps:

      1. Click Start

The collapse of this image enlarge this image

type services in the Start Search box, and then clickServices in the programs list.

The collapse of this image enlarge this image

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or clickcontinue .

      2. Double-click the Windows Defender service and then in the Startup type box, clickAutomatic .
      3. Click OK . »

If the automatic commissioning does not resolve the problem, try reinstalling Windows Defender.  Note, however, if you have installed Microsoft Security Essentials, Windows Defender disabled installation because MSE includes anti-spyware protection.

  • Vista SP1 does not update problems and System Restore returns a message "system restore was not entirely successful. File system and the setting of your computer has not changed"with the error code (0x80071AA7)

    0rignal title: Vista SP1 didn't update problem

So, recently, I was on my computer of gf and noticed she had some updates, it could use his computer which included the SP1 update.  So I went through the process trying to update his computer and he has been a disaster and have had many problems and seems to have tried everything.  It has a Dell inspiron 1525 and has no CD and no key for its program of Vista.  I burned a Vista recovery disk and tried troubleshooting by using that, but have not had much luck.  When I use the Startup Repair tool there is no nothing.  So I tried to use the restore of the system with the Description of "install: Windows Vista Service Pack 1.  He had a restore point saved just before I tried to update to SP1.  Whenever I chose this method, it's but the whole process then in the end it says:

"System restore was not entirely successful.  File system and the setting of your computer have not changed. "

then he begins to list the details with the error code (0x80071AA7) and then gives me the option to close or 'Run System Restore"once again that is an endless loop, because I just end up with the same error each time.  If anyone has had this problem and bring myself through it.  I don't want to reinstall windows because it seems simply ridiculous and plus that she a lot of pictures on his computer and I want to get rid of those.

If you need more information please let me know and evil provides everything I can

    Hello

Follow the steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

I suspect that your security program may be responsible for this. I would suggest you temporarily disable all security software and try the system restore.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note : Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 2:

As for installing updates is concerned, I you should install them after you put your computer in aclean boot State. There could be a third-party software in conflict with updates. Clean boot helps eliminate these conflicts.

Note: Restart your machine as usual by following step 7.

  • Simple Handler.vi error ignores the error code?

I'm trying to understand the behavior of Simple Error Handler.vi, and it confuses me because it seems not be properly error code I give.

According to the documentation, if I have an error code, then:

If error in indicates an error, the VI ignores the error code. If this is not the case, the VI it tests. A nonzero value means a mistake.

But my observation is that when the error indicates an error, the VI always shows a dialog even when given an error code. Instead, I use the Handler.vi to General error and providing an exception action (cancel error on match) and an exception code to get the behavior I want.

    What am I misunderstanding?

There are two ways of interpreting unaware them in the sentence: "If the error indicates an error, ignore them error codeVI."

      1. (the intention) If the error indicates an error, the VI does not use the error code.

      2. (my point) If the error indicates an error, the VI deletes all corresponding to the error code.

  • Windows 7 Internet games to fail with the error Code 0x8004100x

I'm running a machine, Windows 7 Professional, where I manage hundreds of computers remotely.  (I hope, that will alleviate the need for anyone to ask me to check my internet connection.)

It is unpredictable whether or not I will be able to properly play a trump play stings on the Internet.  At one point, he's going to connect to the game server, find players and connect to the game, but do not start the game.  If I try again, it will start the game in a few seconds.  Here again, it may crash when connecting to the server or the game.  But over several days, I can't play a game about half of the time I tried.  The rest of the time, I get this error:

"A network error occurred during communication with the game server.

    "Error code: 0 x 80041009.

On other occasions, the error code is 0 x 80041006 or 0 80041004 x.  In this case if I do anything else with my connection or not.  I could be listening to Pandora or watch a live news feed, but I can't play Spades.  I might be able to play Backgammon Internet very well, but not of spades.  Less often, I can play Spades but not Backgammon.

And this error occurs on other computers I use, too.  For example, my son may very well play World of Warcraft.  But Trump stings on the Internet cannot connect to its server.

There is no problem with my computer.  I've never seen a game with more reliable performance network - no matter the reason.

Thanks for your reply, Aaron.  I did these tests, but nothing has changed.

HOWEVER, after I had re-enabled everything that I had turned off and restarted the machine, I then installed the Tower from the end of September of Microsoft Updates (I did the 10/4, after that I had tested the updates before distribution to my networks). These are updates that I have installed on this machine:

    • For .NET 3.5.1 security update (KB2416471)
    • Update of security for .NET 4 (KB2416472)
    • Update for Windows 7 (KB2158563)
    • Update for Microsoft Silverlight (KB2416427)
    • Microsoft - other hardware - peripheral USB Microwosft mouse
    • Update for IE8 (KB2362765) compatibility view list
    • Update for Windows 7 (KB2288621)

After the restart, I tried the games a few hours later, and I was able to play about 90% of the time - a record! -without receiving the network error.

It is worth noting that I restarted the computer three times while testing the elements start and then once after installing the updates, date at which I have found improvement in connectivity game.  I rebooted the computer twice since and the games play much. (Relatively: I call 'good' 90%.)

Method 1: Run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool

    1. Download and run the system update readiness tool. This tool runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations.

For more information about how to download and run the Checksur.exe tool, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

947821 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/) Description of the update readiness tool for Windows Vista system
    2. Try to install updates again.

Note After running the tool, the Checksur.log file is stored in the following location:

    %SystemRoot%\Logs\CBS

In a default installation of Windows Vista, is the Windows directory.

If this method does not resolve the problem, go to method 2.

Method 2: Install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 if you have not yet installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1), visit the Microsoft Download Center and then download and install Service Pack 1. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Quit all programs, and then click on the following link:

Note Click the option to download on the download page, click Save, and then save the download to your desktop. When the download process is complete, click run to install the SP1.

    2. Restart the computer.
    3. Try to download the updates again.

If you can't always install updates, go to method 3.

To perform a repair of Windows Vista installation, follow these steps:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. Insert the Windows Vista DVD into the DVD drive of the computer.

Note If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, click on Start, type: \setup.exe in the Search box, and then click configuration in the list programs. Then, click install now.

    3. Click connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
    4. Insert the product key if you are prompted to do so.
    5. Click to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
    6. On the screen which type of installation you want , click upgrade.
    7. Once the installation is complete, restart the computer, and then try again to install updates.
