WARNING pop-up THAT FAILED in SECURITY & PRIVACY

I was on a website, clicked on a link & immediately got a huge flashing pop - up with print & sound of warning that my computer is locked, & to call a number immediately. Could not close this page, could not close Mozilla Firefox & had to use force to stop.

I waited a few minutes & then turned my computer back on, ran Malwarebytes scan & clean, then analyzed again. Also ran the first Avast & no problems were detected.

Is there something more I need to do, or I can sleep?

Hi LADYSINGER, sounds like an ad especially odious to persuade you to access their paid tech support service. It doesn't look like you have downloaded and run/open/installed all the files. In this case, I think you're probably fine.

There are a few different page designs, these companies use. In one of them, by pressing the Esc key several times quickly in a row will break the cycle of sign/reload, then you can close the tab normally. Others may behave differently.

    Hello

Generally, this sort of thing occurs when a program conflict makes one or the other case work, maybe even for a few seconds. During these few seconds Windows will pick it up and give you this popup. Here's a possible solution:

    1. Click the start or Windows Orb.
    2. In the search bar, type 'system' (without the quotes)
    3. At the top of search results, there will be an option for "System Configuration"
    4. A window willl pop up, with several tabs and options. Click on the tab "General".
    5. On this tab, there will be a selection for the "selective startup". Click on this button.
    6. Then two options becomes clickable, deselect the option "Load Startup items".
    7. Restart your computer. ! WARNING: Do not access the internet during this time because you will be vulnerable to viruses, spyware and software malware!
    8. Once he starts back, Carbonite Backup launch, because no program will run.

The problem should be solved. If this is the case, immediately turn on your antivirus program and enjoy your work computer. If not,

    1. Follow steps 1 through 5 above to return to the System Configuration.
    2. Under Selective startup, uncheck also load Services.
    3. Restart the computer.
    4. Once it starts, run Carbonite.

It should now be resolved. If this is not the case, there is certainly a problem with either Carbonite or how Carbonite and Windows work together, and you should communicate with each other.

For further assistance, if this does not resolve the problem, then slowly run your normal programs one by one until the multibordure question once again. You have now isolated the program conflict! Congratulations!

    Hello

See the following message to solve the problem of .exe if necessary once you are sure that the system is clean.

Try Mode safe mode with networking - repeatedly, press F8 that you start.

The best two methods allow scanners to run and/or AV.exe out of the way or removing.

    1.
CTRL SHIFT ESC - task manager OR right click on the taskbar - task manager

Process tab - complete the process on AV. EXE and continue with the uninstall Guide.

If necessary use start - computer or Windows Explorer to navigate to

C:\Program Malwarebytes Anti - Malware\mbam.exe or where it is installed - if
necessary right click on the shortcut of Malwarebytes - Properties - tab - target line to see where it
    is installed.

Right-click on it and rename it to ZZMbam.COM (or something different than now), then
Double-click it and run it like this. You can rename it back later. Do the same with others
programs as needed. Use this method for other necessary - DO NOT ASSUMER one
program removes all or that there is no other malware.

    ---------------------------------------------------

    2.
Another method is to use them:

Use Process Explorer to "Suspend" the process will not stop

Then use AutoRuns to delete the malicious program startup items.

Now use UnLocker to delete the files in the malware.

You may need to do a file at a time.

Original title: Sims 3 Setup error service?

Hello! I tried the support of EA, but they were unable to help my situation. I also tried google, but did not get a lot of research.

Anyway, I tried to play the Sims 3, but since I did an update of the Windows 7 service pack and an update for my NVIDIA graphics card, it will not open the game. Instead, an error pops up that reads "service installation failed (0x0175d824)". It worked fine up until the point was I updated my computer and then it didn't work anymore. I don't know if it's a system error or other thing, but google and EA technical support has suggested that it is a registry error. I downloaded a registry cleaner and it has really helped, or have manually uninstall then reinstall the Sims 3 game.
It has also been suggested, I try a clean boot, but I'd really rather than my last resort.

    Hello

I suggest you follow these methods and check.

Method 1: Perform the clean boot and open the game. We are on a show to see if third-party applications are stop the opening match.

To do this, follow the steps in this link:

  • Installed the new drive hard and now I get a pop up that says that my windows is not genuine.

I upgraded my hard drive on my Dell Inspiron 1750. Now, I get a pop up that says that my windows is not genuine. But under the control of configuration\systeme and Security\System, it says my windows is activated. It is an OEM with Windows7 system House. Did that clone a new (bigger, 1 TB) hard disk and then install. In addition, windows update does not work now either. Said the service is not running.

You have installed RemoveWAT at some point in the past.

Now we must try to clear up the mess :(

Best way to fix it now (since we do not know what version of RemoveWAT served) is to run WATFix...

Download WATFix - make sure you click the link in the page, not the big shiny buttons! - and use it.

Then post back with another MGADiag report, and we will see what we can do.
