We have a PC with Windows 7 and have had it for several years, but now can't access my account.

We have a HP PC with Windows 7, and the normal uses are e-mail, online banking, etc, very few games and these. In the last week, I have been unable to sign my account when I try to do it I wonder an administrator password that I don't have, nor had he ever. I can access some of my files through my son's account but not almost those I need. How can I get my account back once again?

Here you go:

  1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
  2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
  3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
  4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
  5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
  6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
  7. Configure Windows in two weeks.
  8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.
