• Need help to determine the material for VMServer

  I'm new to VMServer and I was hoping I could help determine what kind of material, I'll need to buy to run guests.

  I run 2-4 versions of windows at the same time on the host machine, with several more in offline (and according to the needs of switching).

  These would run a single application with very modest network traffic and low demands of cpu/memory/disk.

  I would like to than the ability to run 64-bit operating systems.

  Please let me know what would be recommended. Thanks in advance.

  first of all I recommend you take a look at VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) rather than VMware Server, since VMware Server has been declared end of availability January 2010 and the end of general support will be next month (see http://www.vmware.com/support/policies/lifecycle/general/index.html)

  If you want to use in the production, I highly recommend you choose a host system that is supported by VMware (see http://www.vmware.com/go/hcl)

• Need to test Dreamweaver for Mac PPC G5

  I have a quad-processor clocked at 2.6 Ghz Mac G5 and I need to try Dreamweaver.  Now, with a lot more than computer, I have no special inclination to go Intel, there is really no advantage of speed or capacity.  Where can I get a Dreamweaver CS of the trial which is not dependent on the Intel architecture?

  Adobe ceased support of PowerPC processors with the release of CS5.  CS4 was the last version.  As it is no longer marketed, has more no test for it.  If you do not already have CS4, you're out of luck.  Time to move to an Intel Mac.

• Need to test the broken laptop hard drive but has strange adapter

  I have a Compaq NX7400 and the screen is broken. I want to test the hard drive to see if that works, but it has a weird card. Does anyone know if it emerges because I can then put it in a laptop from work to see if it works?

  This works. This is the main interface. It's called SATA... it has replaced the old interface IDE brass pin about 8-10 years ago. That the hard drive can be connected to a desktop computer with an open SATA data port and adapter and SATA power adapter; right interface is identical to a SATA desktop hard drive.

  I have a photosmart C4435 HP printer all in one that was purchased in the United States and good that now I use this product in India, as my cartridges are dried out, I want to replace the cartridges to work in India where I can not find the HP74 and HP75 cartridges to the Indian market, as the product codes for the cartridges vary from one country to another. Like when I contacted HP in India customer service, they asked test me page HP74 and HP75 to recommend a cartridge buy in India.

  The above from paragraph in the document to help DPS. I have a developer account, but did not register ($99) yet. I want to test my app o.

  I tried to download the file (unsigned) of ipa and install on the Tablet, don't come u with a generic icon (I load a custom for this application icon) that when I pressed nothing happens and the legend below the change icon to "installation".

  You must sign the .ipa before you can install it. If you wait a week or two we should have an app that you can download from iTunes which will allow you to test your content without having an Apple Developer account.

  Support can be added for the purpose of testing to make sure that you can test something on the network, or something to test the configuration of the network? It's hard to tell which network ports are connected and if the network and if there are multiple network cards on the server which one is connected.  It would be OK to add a command prompt from ipconfig/all and do pings or any other method via the GUI tool company to do the same.

  You can get a guest via Mozilla cmd - click Open and select X:\i386\cmd.exe.

  

  Or - just use a best handmade cold-clone - this has been discussed several times.

• Need to design ideas for first real program pl/sql

  Here's the problem I have to solve.
  
  -I need to track the number of different types of messages (in this case by snmp oid) coming over x amount of time.
  
  -I don't know no advance will be how many different types.
  
  -I need to calculate the average pussy by message type for 7 days before yesterday (from 12 h to 12 h) for each type of message (i.e. how MANY were of TYPE A, B, etc.)
  
  -I then need to compare the figures FOR EACH type of message types of messages from YESTERDAY, to the avg account for EACH type of message on the last 7 days... so
  
  FOR EACH type of message
  (County of yesterdays) compare (with number of avg for the past 7 days)
  THEN
  DO SOMETHING
  IF the difference resulting from the comparison is greater than X
  
  My question, I guess that's the best construction to read two different lists and then compare them (a number of message type) to (message Type A avg for the last 8 days). I can do the request for both lists. What I paste lists in? The result of each query would be a column 2 output of MessageTypeNumber and County (or Avg)
  
  Use the documents, collections? Or do I still need to go that far? The tricky thing is I make sure that I compare the same type of message (TYPE FooBar) of each list (account today) and (7 day avg).

  Hi, Brad.

  Begin by designing the or more tables, you will need for this work. Try to design it by using the simpler components possible. For example, the good old relational tables and SQL queries are very basic tools. Collections and PL/SQL are less simple. See if you can do what you need to use only the simple things.

  From what you described, you will need a table of message, that has one line per message. The columns will include the DATE and the message_type (which sounds like a column VARCHAR2). It's always a good idea to have a primary key, then you will probably want an id (a NUMBER) column. There are probably other things (Object sender, priority,...) that you know you have to collect.

  Once you have a basic table design, you can do reality checks, to see if the design allows you to do things you know you will have to do.

  In this case, you know that you need to compare the total of a day to the average of the previous week, message_type.
  You can do it in a single SQL statement:

  Depending on what you want to do when the difference > x, you will not need to use the PL/SQL.
  If you do not have to use the PL/SQL, you can still have a query like the one above. Guests may not store the results of anywhere. The simplest thing would be to read the results of a query at a time line. If that does the job you need to do in a reasonable amount of time, so you don't have to worry about doing something more complicated.

  I'm creating a new editing machine I want to use after effect, photoshop, flash, illustrator and 3ds max. I do a lot of animation 2d and 3d, video editing and graphic design.

  Graphics card: Gtx 570

  Power supply: Rosewill bronze series 1000w

  Hard drive: 4 x Corsair F120 in raid 0 (120gX4)

  Case: Bitfenix collosus

  CPU cooler: Noctua Nh - d14

  I have a budget of $2500 for this computer. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on things should change / recommend a completely different version for my budget.

  Also, I was wondering if the gtx 570 is a stupid choice and I should get a quadro 2000 instead. I don't do any game.

  One last thing, do 4 ssd in raid 0 helps not at all or should I just get 8 HDD in raid 10 or I should spend less money on hard drives.

  PS I know that the i7 2600 k was recalled but I'm in no hurry to build this computer. Also, feel free to recommend the hardware that has not yet been published, but will probably be in the next 8 months.

  PSS all programs I listed are CS5.

  A Quadro 2000 is not worth the money. The GTX 470/570 is more powerful and more attractive price.

  SSD for storage don't deliver performance gains, but deliver an empty wallet. SSD for the OS disk do a little faster loading of programs, for the rest that they have no advantage.

  With potentially 8 disks for a raid array, I would not opt for a raid 10.

  The table above assumes raid controllers. Software raid or embedded raid are significantly slower.

  RAID 3 or 5 lets you almost double the storage capacity and a much better performance. However the P67 platform does not allow that, unless the video card works at speed nearly half (8 x instead of 16 x).
