WebHelp project on a virtual machine using firefox contains only the title and & quot; i' & quot;

Hello
I have a file of important aid in WebHelp format that has a custom look (just different colors and buttons, nothing fancy). "When I look at locally via IE or FF it looks great, when I put it on a server (machine virtual w / windows) I see in Internet Explorer as shown, but when I look in FF I see that the title of the project in the title bar and content 'i' ' on a blank page in the main part of the window... no matter who else seen elsewhere? / ideas on the cures?
Thank you
Chrissy

That's what I have been told by the company that hosts my site. Show it to your guys TI. I had exactly the same problem.

"I would therefore conclude that the solution to this problem (on Linux systems running Apache) is to add the directive AddDefaultCharset utf-8 on the site's .htaccess file or the Apache config. The advantage of the latter is that it affects only the individual sites. The Apache default character set comes from the file of locale on Linux and defaults to iso-8859-1. It is the conflict between the Apache header with iso-8859-1 and utf-8 character page, which obviously causes problems Firefox. »

  • Many versions of VMware Workstation there is, I've been able to put a Virtual Machine for a date in the past and make it stay there.

    The instructions were pretty simple, add the following entries to VMX:

    tools.syncTime = "FALSE".

    Time.Synchronize.continue = "FALSE".

    Time.Synchronize.Restore = "FALSE".

    This no longer seems to work (unless it is me).  Is there a new procedure for VMware 12 and greater?

    I don't use this feature myself, but maybe that's all just because 'time.synchronize.tools.startup' is missing!

  • Devices 6210 USB in a virtual machine using

    Hello

    I have a NI 6210 usb device which I want to use in a virtual machine running in Sun's VirtualBox.

    The host operating system is Vista, the operating system in the virtual XP machine.

    It seems as if between the two OS USB device sharing does not work correctly.

    I installed the drivers fpr the 6210 in both the host and the guest operating system.

    The device is correctly detected in the host operating system.

    What I want to do is use the usb device in the virtual machine only, there no need to be available in the host operating system.

    But when I run the virtual machine, it seems as if the usb toggle device between the host and OS invited frequently, i.e. in a second, it appears in the host operating system, in the next second it appears in the guest OS. Is there a way to "turn off" the device usb in the OS, host so that it can be used exclusively by the guest operating system?

    I also tried to use Windows7 as the host operating system but with the same result as described above.

    Thank you.

    Hi Christian,

    Can you tell me which version of the DAQmx driver you use? I am aware of a case where he helps update version 8.9 the DAQmx. If you have an older version, please upgrade. I hope that you have added a filter to the VirtuaBox mentioned such in support USB in VirtualBox help file section 3.7.9.

  • Create a virtual machine using an existing backup [EXSi 5.0.0]

    Hello

    I've looked everywhere to find a thread that explains me to reach higher. Our ESXi is currently a backup copy using ghettoVCB and store it on an external NAS. I know that I can simply restore a backup virtual computer by using the same script, because it supports.

    But what I want to achieve is to create a separate entrance to the virtual machine by using an existing backup. I'm pretty there is a way, but I now know how to because I'm fairly new to ESXi and learn things slowly.

    All advise you will be highly appreciated and thank you in advance.

    Hello

    I finally managed to do that. I should tried before posting this discussion, but somehow he's ready now. Back to ESXi users who are finding similar questions or have a confusion on how to achieve this, you can see below the process and this;

    1. Before you copy, make sure that you have appropriate files related to the virtual machine (there should be a .vmx, hard & sometimes flat hard-000)
    2. Copy the folder to the location of data store where is your VM (generally, it will be under/vmfs/volumes/yourdatastore) using ssh and WinSCP (a tool to connect in ftp/sftp/scp).
    3. Once copied into the data store, go to the data store by visiting configuration > store > select the data store & access your virtual machine directory, then simply add the .vmx file to the inventory by clicking on the right (Note: do this when you are connected to the ESXi using vCenter IP which is the recommended way to do).

    I hope this helps!

    VCLI orders are mainly used for configurations of the host, although as part of the installation of vCLI, you get also vSphere SDK for utilities Perl - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/viperltoolkit/viperl41/doc/vsperl_util_index.html that provide additional canned scripts, which allows you to create a single set of virtual machines using the vmcreate.pl script. There is an example on how to use a script

  • deploy multiple virtual machines using vmdk and SID file

    Hello

    Need to know if I am correct or miss me something... I deploy many virtual machines using method.

    1. remove the vmdk files a XP.

    2. create new folders and copy the vmdk into this folder.

    3. create virtual machines using existing vmdk files.

    4 rename the computer and join it to the domain.

    My question is, my VMDK files are an existing xp VM (no longer exist), what is the status of the deployed virtual machines? they still have the same SID or it is changed? I managed to join to the domain, but do not want surprises in the future.

    Note:

    I had another option, could have all these automated with new SID using PowerCLi, unfortunately, osCustomization has default, I can't event run the get-OsCustomization command, it keeps failing.

    Thank you.

    Yes, Windows writes the SID on disk (virtual disk for virtual machines) or physical disk for physical machines.  The guest operating system has no idea on the vmx file.

  • Virtual MACHINE using GHS restore CD

    I'm new to VMware and I'm trying to implement a virtual machine using XP Home.  I created the virtual machine and I am trying to use the restaurant 3 CD to install the operating system.  The first CD works fine, but the second can not open the file .ghs.  When I try to open the .ghs file it shows same not she, but a .gho file is there, but does not work.

    Any suggestions?   I need to convert a .iso?  If so, how?

    Thank you.

    Theoretically, you can't use restore CD to configure a new virtual machine, because they are technically linked to the computer to which they belong.

    Because the virtual hardware for a virtual machine is completely different with the material belonging to the restore CD, I don't expect that it will work well. For the case, it works well, you could face activation problems, due to the completely different (virtual) hardware.

    You might need a copy of XP retail to do a clean install of XP.

    If you are already using java, what might be better to stick to the Toolbox for java.

    However, you can still use vimsh. In ESX 3.0, you can call vimsh - n - e-

  • Someone at - it a simple example of creating virtual machine-> the affinities of virtual machine using the PERL API?

    The question just about everything said. Is there a perl extracts to create an affinity between the virtual machines.

    Thanks, Vikas, for example and guidance. Since I am abel to make it work, I thought I'd share the code example:

    My $vm_name_list;    # A list of names of virtual machine.

    My @vm_morefs;      # Filled in the managed object refes to the virtual machines, this detail not included.

    My $cluster_name;    # Name of the cluster to create the rule in

    # Find the Cluster Compute resource object.

    My $cluster_views = Vim::find_entity_views (view_type-online 'ClusterComputeResource',
    filter-online {name-online $cluster_name});
    If (! @$cluster_views) {}
    Die "no cluster don't compute resource named $cluster_name detecte\n";
    }

    My $cluster_view = $cluster_views-> [0];

    My $rule_name = 'affinity for $vm_name_list. "

    # Create the nest of objects required for ReconfigureCluster_Task:

    My $aff_rule_spec = new ClusterAffinityRuleSpec (name => $rule_name,)

    mandatory-online "TRUE."
    VM-online \@vm_morefs);

    My $array_update_operation = new ArrayUpdateOperation ("add");

  • How to resize a virtual machine using vSphere client

    Hi all

    I have a virtual computer on an ESXi 4 server but I am not able to resize. So far I have stop the virtual machine in vSphere client, selected the settings then went to Hard Disk 1, Disk Configuration section everything is gray so cannot be changed. The type is listed as thick and the version of virtual machine is 7. How can I go on the increase in the size of the disk of this virtual, or any other machine also?

    Thank you

    Jamie

    Remember that you cannot increase the size of a disc if there is a snapshot, but if the option is gryed out, it looks more like a permissions issue.  You do that connected directly to the host of ESXi, or through vCenter?

  • Size of Virtual Machine using VMware converter

    I have a virtual machine that was created with the dynamic disk expansion. When I run the converter, it asks to "convert all the disc and maintain size or select volumes and resize. If I select convert all and that size, it's still a disk to dynamic or static size affects the size?

    Thank you

    David

    Okay, it looks like you don't have a license for the converter.  If you write files locally, then you want to choose compatible Workstation 5, because that's what will work on ESX.  Then run the converter and select the vm backup files, and as your destination, you should be able to select ESX.

  • Can't export virtual machines: unable to connect to the remote server

    Hello

    I'm working on vSphere client 5.1 (vCenter Server 5.1). Trying to export a virtual machine for distribution model. When I go to file-> export the template OVF..., I get the following error message:

    Can't export virtual machines: unable to connect to the remote server

    Remote not sure what/who he is not able to connect to. If I connect vSphere Web Client and navigate to the same model (or all other models), under 'All the Actions of vCenter' I don't have an option to export to the model of the FVO. But if I use a VM machine instead of a virtual machine template, I have the ability to export to the OVF, but it is grayed out.

    Am I missing any customer authorization or plugin for vShpere?

    Discovered that vSphere server had some modifications made by HIM to resolve the violation POODLE. HE had to set the ip address of the machine where export OVF will be performed. Which allowed the connection to establish vsphere client and perform an export of the FVO.

  • Not possible to export a list of virtual machines that are created in the past 7, 30, 120 and 180 days since an imported csv file containing the date of creation of virtual machine

    Not possible to export a list of virtual machines that are created in the past 7, 30, 120 and 180 days since an imported csv file containing the date of creation of virtual machine. My questions is the correct statement to the variable: $VmCreated7DaysAgo: $_CreatedOn "-lt" $CDate7.

    # #SCRIPT_START

    $file = "C:\Users\Admin\Documents\WindowsPowerShell\08-18-2014\VM-Repo.csv".

    $Import = import-csv $file

    $VMCreatedLast7RDayRepoFile = "C:\Users\Admin\Documents\WindowsPowerShell\08-18-2014\Last7Days.csv".

    $start7 = (get-Date). AddMonths(-1)

    $CDate7 = $start7. ToString('MM/dd/yyyy')

    $VmCreated7DaysAgo = $Import | Select-object - property name, Powerstate, vCenter, VMHost, Cluster, file, Application, CreatedBy, CreatedOn, NumCpu, MemoryGB | Where-Object {$_.} CreatedOn - lt $CDate7} | Sort-Object CreatedOn

    $TotalVmCreated7DaysAgo = $VmCreated7DaysAgo.count

    $VmCreated7DaysAgo | Export-Csv-path $VMCreatedLast7RDayRepoFile - NoTypeInformation - UseCulture

    Write-Host "$TotalVmCreated7DaysAgo VMs created in 7 days" - BackgroundColor Magenta

    Invoke-Item $VMCreatedLast7RDayRepoFile

    # #SCRIPT_END

    You can use the New-Timespan cmdlet in the Where clause, it returns the time difference between 2 DateTime objects.

    An example of this cmdley

    New-TimeSpan-start (Get-Date). AddDays(-7)-end (Get-Date). Select days - ExpandProperty

    In your case, you could do

    Where {(New Timespan-démarrer ([DateTime] $_.))} CreatedOn) - end $start7). {7 days - gt}

    But beware of negative numbers.
