  • How can I fix a startup message "msvcr71.dll" in xp home edition?

    Windows XP Home Edition 2002

The message above showed up after we had followed advice to fix the message "msvcr7.dll".

Does anyone know how to fix this please?

    Hi StuartCurran,

    1. What are the steps that you have run on the computer to solve the problem?

    2. What is the full error message that you receive?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

  • Change something in msconfig. Get a weird error message.

Hello. Changed a lot of material internally. Re-installed XP. Have all the updates. SP3.

When I go to msconfig and stop some programs start at startup, it gives me this message: access denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an administrator account to make the specified changes.

I am an administrator. The only user on the computer. How to stop this message, or others like him? There are a few others like this message I get.

    Thank you.

You are not the administrator. You are a user who has administrator rights. There are some subtle differences.

Windows XP safe mode home is basically identical to that of Windows XP Pro, with a couple of notable changes. In Windows XP Home Edition, the built-in "Administrator" account is only available in safe mode and is the default account for this mode. The password of the administrator account is empty, because it is not accessible except in safe mode. It is recommended that you connect as long as this account for changes in safe mode.

Making permanent changes using msconfig, although commonly made, goes against best practices. Msconfig is intended to be used as a troubleshooting tool. Autoruns to change startup items.

To identify what loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).

    http://www.Microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspx

With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig.

Another useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item.

Tinkering with the startup type of services is also unwise because it often introduces errors in the operating system for significant benefits. Commonly, users complain that this or that is not working after hours of frustration trying to fix the problem. Do not confuse the benefits of changing the way that loading programs to the development of services.

  • Thing Snape blackBerry Smartphones weird SMS message.

Ok.  After an exhaustive search here I can't find the answer.  This is my problem: I have a rogue SMS message which means this:

    1. it indicates a person in my contact list, but the conversation in the mssage has nothing to do with this person.  It's actually a combination of about 3 different conversations, which is not a person in my contact list.

    2. I try to delete the message and nothing.  It is not in one of the recorded files, it is nowhere to be seen other than in the Messages folder.

    3. I try to delete several messages out of the TEXT Message folder and a window pops up saying "Delete" with a stationary clock, but then it just sits there, nothing happens.  Nothing clears.  I do a hard reset and this window disappears, but the message is still there.

    3. I can delete all messages but this one.

I tried to use my Hardpull app, nothing.  I removed my Otterbox cover and did a hard pull, nothing.  I looked in all my files message, nothing.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Solved.  Don't know how, I had already done the steps, but now it worked.

Went into SMS/MMS > BB Btn > sending SMS > BB Btn > Shift, all the messages, BB Btn > Delete Messages? > Remove.

It seemed to separate all the contacts that have been mixed in a single message, then I was able to remove them.  Weird, but it worked.

    Well.

Today, I tried to start my G5, and on my screen, there is an icon of a hard disk with a message "no media".

We will understand if you are in the right forum. If you are running OS 10.7, you have a Mac Pro, not a PowerMac G5. If you are unable to "about this Mac", see how many doors in the car you have:

For example, a door or two? Internally, the two models are very different, so go in the appropriate forum will allow you to avoid advice is that may not work on your computer.

Please let us know what you find and, if necessary, we can ask guests to go on to your question.

  • SA40-702 satellite: startup messages

    Hello

Until recently, I experienced no problem with my satellite SA40-702. However, while starting I started getting the following messages, which appear before the Windows XP best wishes...

    PXE - E61
Media Test Failure - Check the cable of

    PXE - M0F
    Exit Intel Boot Agent

While no obvious problems occur while using the machine, its obvious that these messages should not be appearing. Someone had no previous experience of these message?

    Any help/advice gratefully received.

    Concerning

    Peter.

    Hi Peter,.

The PXE - E61 message ususally indicates the laptop tries to start from a LAN attached rather than the hard drive or the CD source.

First check the boot order in the BIOS (press and hold F12 for the market) and make sure that your boot order has your hard drive as first or second device in the list before the connection to the local network.

If it is already defined in this way, then it is likely that your hard drive is corrupt because the system can't find the boot sector (or can't read).

I presume that you can boot from the CD (since you say that you tried to reinstall XP. Did you use the recovery discs for your laptop or a Microsoft XP disk?

    Kind regards
