What do need me for Oracle Http Server with mod_plsql on 64-bit Linux?

I try to get ESS on a linux machine but I'm not sure that I install the correct thing!

Currently I have a windows box running the server applications of 10 GB, but everything seems to have changed since then and there seems to be many different things to do with the Fusion Middleware and stuff. I tried to find an overview in English clear of what are all these things, but all I can find is a lot of marketing buzz words!

All in need in order to run the ESO with the mod_plsql so I can run my apex application. I would be greatfull if someone could point me in the right direction for what I have to install!

The box, that is happening is a CentOS Linux 64-bit computer. I download and installed Oracle WebLogic Server 11 g Rel (10.3.3) 1 by using the generic installer for the 64-bit java, but there seems to be no http server although they say there is! Most likely I'm doing something wrong but Setup is completed successfully, but nothing is running on port 7001.

Do I really need the WebTier instead? What is the best solution for the execution of ESO with mod_plsql? I need the installation of WebLogic as well? Unfortunately, I'm pretty new to Linux as well which is not helping!

Thanks for any help

Robert

Well, you have two options:
-Use the distro of BCI WebTier utility SST. (Use 11.1.1.3 version, you need the two distributions 11.1.1.2 and 11.1.1.3)
-Use the distro DB Companion Disk OSH.

WebLogic Server is a Java EE application with an HTTP server included, but not intended to be used in replacement of OHS/Apache. It does not mod support

Please give me a solution for this-

You can do more complicated it must be.

In forms and reports Oracle Home, you will have a tnsnames.ora (ORACLE_HOME\NETWORK\ADMIN). If it's the file you changed, I would recommend cancelling all changes. Then simply copy and paste the entry from the db entries. So in you case put this in the file tnsnames.ora forms/States:

    ORCL1 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = USER-PC)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl1)
    )
    )

It may be necessary to change the 'USER-PC' above to the IP address or the loopback address (127.0.0.1).

In the forms/States sqlnet.ora file make this change:

    From:

NAMES. DIRECTORY_PATH = (LDAP, TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT, ONAMES, HOSTNAME)

    REPLACE:
NAMES. DIRECTORY_PATH = (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT, ONAMES, HOSTNAME, LDAP)

The same concept is true for version 11 forms/States

Don't know on what basis 'someone' advised to do (migration of ADR to OHS)?

As the Oracle Documentation says otherwise in their comparison of the options of the web listener.

    Reference: https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E59726_01/install.50/e39144/overview.htm#HTMIG29325

Also, I found the trend of migration of OSH to ADR and not otherwise.

    Reference:

Personally, I prefer ADR on OSH as a server option for Oracle APEX Web and I had included in my profile of Oracle Database Developer's Choice Award 2015 for which I was chosen as a finalist in the category Oracle APEX and ADR.

  • Huge success in Oracle HTTP Server for Application Apex

    Hello

I've been running several applications in the same database in Apex 4.2.2. I use Oracle HTTP Server 10.2 for web access to customers. I have 4000 users in systems, but at the same time can be logged 500. Server Web is in DMZ, and database server's internal network. We notice that we conduct page huge hit in the system, very high. I noticed a client IP had 44 000 visits in one day and on a daily basis any number of access is 500 000 to 600 000. That is for me, it's huge. This huge success makes the firewall close the connection to the web server. This disturbance is causing the company a lot.

I would like to know how Oracle Apex communicates with the web server and clients, is the mechanism of Oracle Apex which causes this huge success or is it for external cause, such as a DoS attack or something like that. I'm really exhausted with it. Don't know what to do. Help, please

    Hasan Al Mamun

Hi I have kind of a resolved / by past the problem. Now, I have no connection to the bottom of the problem. The problem was. Subdomain (say myapp.testlab.com) of my app had a single IP address, router treated the huge success of the same IP address as a threat and that's why router blocked the real IP of this subdomain. We did it, we asked our dns provider to add a few more (5) IPs for the same subdomain. Now, as dns selects a single IP among 5 fps in alternating single IP does not get as much success as to be blocked by the router. It works better now. Cordially Hasan Al Mamun

  • Do we need Oracle HTTP server to host Oracle Apex?

We are completely new to this Oracle Apex.

Wanted to know the license part of it, before you enter into it.

I guess Oracle Apex is free because it comes with the Oracle database license.

    (1) do we need a sort of HTTP server to host the Summit on the browser?

    (2) any HTTP server will be working with Oracle Apex?

    (3) any other free Oracle tool that we can use instead of licensing Oracle HTTP server for this Summit?

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks in advance for the gurus here.

  • Are there any separate Oracle HTTP Server more?

    Hi all

I want to install APEX on 10g, but it requires Oracle HTTP Server. I tried to download from OTN but cannot find an appropriate installation. It is only around 10g R2 Application Server, which contains a lot of things that most likely I don't need, but the HTTP server:

    -Oracle HTTP Server
-Oracle Application Server containers for J2EE (OC4J)
-Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server Control
    -Oracle Application Server Web Cache
    -Oracle Application Server Portal
    -Oracle 10g database server
    -Oracle Internet Directory
    -Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On
    -Oracle MapViewer

Also, when I click the link HTTP Server on OTN software Dowloads, need me to a page to the WebLogic Server. What is c? Old server HTTP?
Thanks in advance for any help on this!

Standalone Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) is always available. To 10 gr 2 (10.1.2), you can install it off 'Application Server Companion CD' available here:
    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/software/products/IAS/htdocs/101202.html

10gR 3 (10.1.3), you can choose the type of installation "Oracle HTTP Server" (under the "Advanced Setup" option). This will give you just SST (and OPMN) which is based on Apache 1.3. OHS based on Apache 2.0, you can install "Oracle 10 g 3 companion CD (10.1.3.x)". The CD is available here:
    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/software/products/IAS/htdocs/101310.html

    Hope this will help.

    Hello

I have some difficulty to fix my Oracle APEX + Oracle HTTP Server environment.

There are currently about 20 Applications that run on the server of the APEX, and I want to publish 2 of them outdoors for the users.

I added a certificate in Oracle Wallet Manager to ensure the OHS, but I can access all Applications on the server of the APEX by changing just the suffix of the ID of the Application.

How can allow only two applications accessible via internet?

    Concerning

    Hello

Well, need us so much more information.

You can edit a zip file of all the relevant configuration file, or you could send them to me at [email protected].

Then I take a look and we can post the result here.

It should also be completely specified URL that you use since you seem so use the virtual hosting.

  • Oracle HTTP Server

    Greetings,

I'm an EMP facility run in a development environment on a single server - Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit.
All goes well, until I tried to configure the Web server. In the Configurator, after selecting "Set up the Web server" only, I don't see Oracle HTTP Server in the Web Server Type drop-down list.
So, I came to a conclusion that he had to install Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) during the installation phase.

After reading this forum and others, I started the installation program and tried to re - install OSH. But, I noticed that it was not selectable - it is greyed out.
So I re-uploaded the part number of edelivery.oracle.com and chilled out for the second time on my local machine. I thought that I was missing the files needed to get installed ESS.
Then I handed in the installer market-, but the SST checkbox is always grayed out.

How can I "force" the installation program to install the SST? Or do I need? Can I just run with IIS and life lights? (it's just a dev box)

Any thoughts would be great. Thank you very much, Paul

I once had a similar problem and found that if I ran the process of \ohs\Disk1\install\win64\setup.exe and pointed out the House of Middleware "D:\Oracle\Middleware\" and called the "OSH" Oracle Directory it solved the problem.

    Kind regards

  • Download Oracle HTTP Server (OHS)?

Hi, I am trying to download the Oracle HTTP server (OHS) and its components - anyone happens to know which package I need to download from Oracle E delivery site?

I am trying to download only the HTTP server and so avoid downloading a great fusion middleware install pack (containing Weblogic).

We already have Weblogic (and much more) installed...

You can use one of the following web servers for this purpose:

  • Apache HTTP Server
  • Oracle HTTP Server
  • Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)
  • Oracle iPlanet Web Server

As long as the web server is supported by the web server plugin, it can be used for proxy requests to a Weblogic Cluster. The Guide [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e16435/overview.htm] Oracle Fusion Middleware by using Web Server 1.1 Plug - Ins® with Oracle WebLogic Server for more information.

The Oracle HTTP Server is included in the cdrom of 11g of Oracle Fusion Middleware Web Tier utility. It is part of the Oracle Fusion Middleware Media packs. This product can be installed in [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111ways /e14260/overview.htm#CEGBDFHD]two:]

  • Stand-alone mode
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager using Fusion Middleware control

The first option does not require a WebLogic domain but you will be limited to the command-line to start/stop and maintenance utilities. The 2nd option requires a logical area of the web. Waiting for your decision to install either should the 11g Oracle Fusion Middleware Web Tier utility cdrom or the cdrom of Oracle Fusion Middleware Web Tier utility 11g and Oracle WebLogic Server 11 g 1 generic material and consistency cdrom. You are installing on a separate server anyway and that you do not have a dependency with the WLS 10.3.5 install proxy for them except you so that you can use the components of the 11.1.1.6 Fusion Middleware Media pack that has been released this week:

  • Oracle WebLogic Server 11 GR 1 material (10.3.6) generic and consistency
  • Oracle Fusion Middleware Web Tier utility 11g Patch Set 5 (11.1.1.6.0)

    Thank you
    EJ

  • How to start Oracle HTTP server automatically during the startup of the server?

I installed the software of Oracle 11 g (fusion).

I use only the Oracle HTTP component in any merger software for my Apex 4.0 to work.

    (1) I wanted my Oracle HTTP server starts automatically each time my server reboots (Windows 2008 R2).

How do I do that? Is there a place in Windows (autoexec) or somewhere I can copy the above command
