  What mean of these messages, is that these "Firmware updates" do not apply to material in your specific computer. The two "Seagate Firmware Updates" are respectively for the hard drives of 250 GB / 320 GB and 500/750 GB hard drives. Your computer comes with a 1 TB hard drive, which is not subject to updates of the firmware. The "PLDS Optical Drive Update" is for another drive to CD/DVD only installed in your computer and also does not apply. There is no further action to take... Do not attempt to install these updates of firmware, because they do not apply to the hardware in your computer.

  I checked the manuals s and found a list of all optical disk drives compatible.
  Of course, the STRANGE in your laptop is not affected with severe dysfunction and firmware update is not necessary and also not available for download.

The printer print is no longer because I have 3 party laser cartridges.  I had heard of tactics HP injet printers, but never thought that they would stoop so low just to force me to buy their cartridges, which for color laserjet, is very expensive.

  I currently have the following HP hardware:

  1. High-end ENVY Phoenix 850-065se Desktop (i7-5960 x)
  2. New portable high-end OMEN
  3. 277dw LaseJet MFP
  4. Chromebook 11

  I am also a partner HP started.

  How much chance do you think it is I will NEVER buy HP hardware again?

  The solution by the user in this one suggests a bad patch as opposed to a deliberate attempt by HP, third block laser cartridges.  It is more credible to me than what HP did with the OfficeJets.  He fixed in downgrading the firmware that atleast confirms that the problem is associated with firmware.

  Here are the dimensions of the player, 128 (W) x 12.7 (H) x 127 mm (D). The thickness is what may change, but something after 2008 will be 12.7 mm thick. Remove your old drive and I can somewhat guarantee that these dimensions will be the same. The depth is measured with on the cover.

  I also did some checking autour and some new very can be even thinner at 9.5 mm thick, check yours and compare with what you're going to buy, but your probably going to be 12.7 mm thick. (thickness is measured at its share of thickness)

  I get the error message 9996 (your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update. Update has been canceled.)

  Documentation, all the conditions that I see are to be logged on as administrator and use Windows Vista.  (I'm connected under the only user account on the computer, which is the administrator account.)

  Someone had a similar problem or ideas on how I can get around this problem?  The update to improve recognition of the DL disks in the DVD player, I have already lost three discs try different imaging software.

• sp40966 drive firmware update problem

  While they inspected the m9400t support page today, I found the following link:

  I checked the link and found that I needed this update the hard drive firmware as my main drive is a Seagate 750 GB SATA drive. I've printed the information, then progressed to follow the steps. All is well until the phase of "reboot" and that's when things went south!

  First - when the computer reboots, I had the update screen and saw the message on the interface of disc must be set to IDA and because the mine was set to RAID I reset to IDA and restarted.

  Next - screen update again and began the process of update. Received a message that file binary download was complete. Following message "trying to read HP26CE3D.bin ', and this is where things went"South ".

  After seeing this message for ~ 30 minutes I had the feeling that nothing was happening, so against the warning messages on the screen to update on "do not restart", I did a power reset off.

  On the start of Vista could not start and I had the repair screen 'System '.

  Long story short, after several attempts to reboot the system using my diag CD material and my system restored I got the answer of the CD.

  On the next attempt of cold start, I used F10 and reset my disk for the original RAID interface and the system booted!

  So, I wonder just what is happening. What has the RAID vs IDA to interface to update the disk firmware?

  Yesterday, I downloaded the update sp40966 on the site of HP support and installed without problems or errors! I now drive HP26 firmware version on my Seagate 750 GB drive. I don't know that what has changed, but the installation goes smoothly. Here are a few observations on this installation vs the other installation I tried that failed.

  1. this time the installation I have no advice or warnings on affecting the drive interface in bios RAID IDE as with the previous installation.

  2. once the bootable CD was created when I opened it I could see the files and folders in contrast to the previous three CD

  3. I'm a happy camper now. I'll mark my issue as resolved.

  Bob, the reason I said the drive is 4 years of age is based on the release date (October 17, 2009) (s5280t) computer.  However, I read the date wrong earlier.  It's almost 3 years.  Sorry for the mistake.

• 2950 HDD D80A Firmware Update for the dedicated hot spares

  I have a 2950 III with 8 Fujitsu 146 GB drives installed in a RAID 10 array. The first six discs are configured for use in a virtual disk with the last two records configured to be used as a dedicated hot spare. OMSA describes the version of the firmware of these two disks 0102. I ran the update of the firmware as described here:

  The six drives in the virtual disk just successfully upgraded to the version of the firmware D80A. Two rescue disks have not been tempted. I tried to run the Setup again and Setup note that installed and packaged versions are both D80A, but OMSA said that two rescue disks are always at 0102.

  This is expected behavior? Spare disks are treated differently? If so, the firmware update as they are now or have I trade in the virtual disk to do the upgrade?

  The link does not work for me earlier... it's working now.  There is also a utility 'nautilus' which can be used on Dell readers... it will update all readers of Dell, regardless of the make and model... preventing you from having to download a dozen different services.

  Yes, that is why the update is a failure: Dell firmware cannot be updated with the firmware of the sale to the retail/credits, and retail/Generic firmware cannot be updated with the Dell firmware.

  You are not able to open the CD/DVD drive.
  There is a little near the eject button.
  You will need to put a small wire or another object in this set to eject the CD or DVD.
  It is a last option if the eject button does not work.

  PS: in the manual of the laptop you should be able to find information on compatible CD/DVD players.

  There is a document containing instructions to update the firmware of the P1102w.  The document can be accessed here.

  The document advises one to download the update of the firmware from the downloads page, but none are listed.  However, I could find the update through the update of the firmware of laserjet webpage.

  I logged a call to Dell to replace my optical drive of 700 m, because it would not eject, and they send me a new drive.  Good news!

  My question is this:

  Can I simply remove the old drive and insert the new one without any operating system or a updated driver re - install questions?
