  I am an unlucky recipient of a laptop with Windows Vista. It came preloaded with Vista... no backup disks or manuals, etc. The restore feature was not turned on, so a restore point has not been set. My WMP will not play wmv or any wmp files. I also have problems with my automatic updates in Windows. I have 10 updates that were not successful, but there are probably pages of the attempts of many times where the updates failed. My Trend Micro Titanium Internet tells me I have a problem in my directory root, which is probably due to an update of Windows that was supposed to protect me from a weakness in Vista, but again once with my updates failed to download successfully, its possible the fix I need is still sitting there... I think it's a shame that MicroSoft is allowed to 'SELL' a product without disk... just a license # and NO manuals. AND not a lot of support for your money... or the other. I spent hours and hours trying to fix myself... using all the resources I can find... look like a dummy, I'm sure, but if I had the software I probably would have deleted from my hard drive and more. It would certainly have saved me MONTHS of frustration. Trend Micro and real human support downloaded the plus version of their software for me and recent, plus a few extras to eradicate certain other pests. To get a human being to help you at MicroSoft? It will be $60, please... Sorry, if I look a little tired, but you guys are supposed to be the best and I feel fuzzy. I have been in sales for a long time. long time AND sold the BEST AMERICAN made cars... CADILLACS, but you know if I take care of my clients after the sale... they would have felt like I do, today... disappointed. If every time they came into the dealership I have loaded the $$ to take care of them, they don't come back to me when the NEW models came out... I made sure they got their cars back washed... and they sent their friends to buy from me. Have the camcorder connected with a s-video via their usb sound adapter.  all trying to capture video can c the video on their screen, but it won't do anything says status: no signal. Im running vista sp2 64-bit. Much higher than min comp status required.  I want to just record my videos before the death of the camera and will then no way c them again. TYVM for your time and help

  Sony has written drivers for their products, not Microsoft.

  I suggest that you use previously compatible operating system computer from a friend, XP, etc, to save your videos to disc.

What is the best program editing for mulitcam or multiple camera editing? - The answer, as long as the question below is fixed, isn't Adobe Premiere Pro! From CS6 (version 6.0.2), this lack of 'design' or the 'weirdness' described below, multicam editing is very difficult and inefficient in Premiere Pro. These first two issues above are what I searched Google in hopes of a solution to a problem plaguing Adobe Premiere Pro for years, literally. Unfortunately, in the new Premiere CS6, with so many other great innovations, the question remains still makes it very difficult to do an editing multicam compared to Final Cut Pro 7, Avid, Sony Vegas, FCPX, etc.. They all handle editing multicamera in different ways but, having recently passed away from FCP7, and has worked on several modifications mulitcam, Premiere Pro CS6 (and CS5 and CS5.5) has serious problems with the multicam function that is broken right now (version 6.0.2) in first CS6 and fact editing multicam VERY frustrating experience and a lot less effective compared to the other NLE. If it's a drawing, then its imperfect as Yes, you can work around it and difficulty about what you did, but why so you have to keep wasting time precious 'fixing' in such things? STOP = STOP. Phew! It was difficult. Fact. Fixed. Travel! Currently, this design is counterproductive, not intuitive, helps no one and only lost valuable time while the Publisher must quickly "solve" the problem.
  

  Well, I thought I'd do two things here:

• Premiere Pro CS6 - a low level exception occurred in ImporterMPEG

  Hi Adobe community.

  I am having a bit of a problem with the ImporterMPEG.prm for Premiere CS6 Pro plugin that is causing playback and export issues.

  Specifications of the computer: Win7 PC, NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 graphics card

  Description: After video for a while, first finally start playing repeatedly have reported "a low-level exception occurred in ImporterMPEG. The preview player will be frozen, and I won't be able to export. Export fails with a generic message "unexpected error".

  This issue has only started a week ago. So far, I was able to use Premiere Pro CS6 without any problem. If possible, I would avoid the upgrade to 2014 CC, because the CS6 version was working fine before.

  So far, I've tried a few things:

  • Deactivation and reactivation (which, moreover, apparently is not help users subscription like me, by my recent chat with Adobe support on this issue)

  • Uninstall and reinstall (I didn't know the CC cleaning tool at the time, so I didn't try a clean uninstall yet)

  • Change the preview File Format in the settings of the sequence (from i-Frame only MPEG who had worked since I installed the software for more than a year to Microsoft AVI)

  • Crying silently to myself (it did not help, the computer is cold and cruel)

  • Compensation to the media cache (that I had never done it before and let it get up to ~ 75GB without noticing me)

  • Move the plugin from its location in Program Files, in the hope that maybe Premiere Pro would notice was missing and try to find a new cool (it did not)

  So far, only the preview File Format change appeared to bring relief, but bad behavior came back after about a week.

  I think that maybe the ImporterMPEG.prm plugin has been corrupted somehow? The only notable thing, I remember with the computer in the course of the last few weeks has been a power event that suddenly stop my computer. I think that was my first Pro open at the time.

  If it is relevant, I work mostly with. AVI. MP4, and. TS files my FPS and projects, all the different resolutions. I'm usually working with about 1 GB of files in a project, very rarely more than 2 GB.

  But really, the real solution for me was don't update Premiere Pro CS6 after a reinstallation. The latest updates do not like my computer, I guess.

  Simple. Premiere Pro CS6 (Windows) does not support OpenCL GPU Acceleration (or if this support is in the program code, it is disabled internally). Premiere Pro CS6 supports only the Protocol of Nvidia CUDA for GPU acceleration.

  And based on tests of Bill, the R9 280 X with OpenCL high-end activated in first Pro CC is currently slower than GeForce GTX 750 it with active CUDA. If on the other hand Adobe makes available the GPU Nvidia OpenCL GPU acceleration (currently the OpenCL is disabled internally with a GPU Nvidia installed, only CUDA available), the R9 270 X would be clearly faster than almost all GPU Nvidia OpenCL turned on two cards.
