  Since you mentioned the screen saver, and assuming that you found the password after the computer comes out of the screen saver mode, you will need to disable this option.

  1. open the screen saver settings by clicking the Start button picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel configuration, appearance and personalization, customization, and then click screen saver.

  2. Unselect/disable the one summary, require the connection box, set a time after which the screen saver throw and then click on apply. (Choose a time-out period that is not long enough for an unauthorized person to use your computer, but not too short that if you are inactive for a while, the screen saver locks your computer.)

  If the fast user switching is turned on, select the On resume, display logon screen check box.

  We have a confidential 300-page PDF, and the people here are super paranoid someone will it alter or remove the watermark "confidential."  I informed them of the "encrypt with password" feature which prevents editing, but they are uneasy about the fact that these Adobe security settings are not supported in other publishers of PDF/viewers.  They proposed to turn it into an image, but then got scared when I told him OCR.

  I think I already know the answer to this... but is there a way to make sure that no one can modify the PDF in ANY software?  If not, is the most effective password?  Or does just print and send... (they are paranoid that someone will change the watermark on it too).

  Even if they distribute the document to someone, someone could create a fake. If they're that paranoid, it would be preferable to hire legally binding agreement with the people they distribute to. Something like an NDA.

  I have a Toshiba P105-S6114 that suddenly developed a gray vertical line about 1 inch wide and about 3 inches from the right side of the screen. It seems that if it is washed out.   I started pricing new screens. Locally for installing I got a quote of less than $500.00. I saw on ebay (new) about $280.00 aus replacement screens. Installation I expect about $100.00. If someone knows a cheaper solution, I would be very happy to hear it.

  I saw a screen for a P105-s6062 that appears from the PDF file to be identical to the S6114. It is second hand, but sounds like a viable option. Does anyone know if the screens are identical, including the connections?

  It might be the screen of laptops, but it could also be a malfunction of the graphics card.
  If you first need to know what's exactly wrong.

  In your case, I recommend you to connect a second external monitor to the laptop.
  Then check if the same vertical lines appears also on external monitor.

  If the same could not be visible on the other display, the chances are high that a graphics card is malfunctioning.

  In this case a replacement of the motherboard would be necessary and this would be a costly affair!

  Anyway, in both cases, I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country.
