  In my view, it is safe to delete the shortcut. And in general, SWTOOLS is not used except in the recovery of the factory system. If I were you, I just delete the shortcut on the desktop and let everything that is in the SWTOOLS, assuming that don't mind anyway. No registry concerned. I hope this helps.

  I'm relatively new to Adobe After Effects, but its definitely a fun program! I found this video on YouTube and I was wondering if someone could help figure me out who they are these effects (don't worry, they seem fairly simple... at least for someone who is not a newbie): Acacia Valley - YouTube

  Choose your layer in the timeline, double-click the tool rectangular shape mask. This can hide the entire layer. Hold down the Alt/Option key and press M to set a keyframe mask. Move to the bottom of the timeline, and then with the selection tool selected (keyboard shortcut v) double-click on any top of mask to convert the tool mask to turn and catch one of the sides of the mask and move it to a new location.

  There's your transition. Add the white line go to effect > Generate > stroke and the width to about 4 pixels and select on Original like game mode. Add layers for other videos and're you good to go.

  The first starting point would be to look at the minimum specifications required by the video editing program, and then start looking for laptops with these specifications.  Then look for those that have the best specifications requested by the program and settle for something in between.

  According to your budget, it would be better to buy something that has more than request the program you always want to have the best.

  You do not want to edit long movies in AE. After effects is NOT video editing software.  A non-linear editing (NLE) like Premiere Pro is for editing photos to tell a story. AE is for compositing, Visual effects and graphic cartoons. It is for the creation of clichés that you then use in an NLE.

  I suggest to get at least 16 GB of RAM to work with AE, but your system should work as it is. You will need to learn to manage your memory well and to get a glimpse at lower resolutions where possible.

  Now, as to your original question. AE is not simply to play a video stream, as does a NLE. After effects (such as other software based compositing on pixels) with completely decompressed frames. When you put a video compressed in a composition, the size of the original video file has no effect on the size of the images that works with After Effects. After effects unpacks this video and works internally with a full, uncompressed resolution, frames. AE calculates the values of each pixel in each image, comes with a new pixel and then reads these pixels. Who is?

  In fact, since you have so little RAM and the processor is not either, it may be a good idea to convert your video files highly compressed in a good intermediate codec for the shots, that you intend to use in AE. QuickTime with the PNG codec would be a decent choice. This way AE doesn't have to do a ton of work to decompress images behind the scenes until you can even work with him.
