What is your dialog window trying to capture my login and password?

Hi, I'm a new dialogue window when I use Firefox to access my yahoo email account. I've never had the box ask for my login and password. It was only to give me the opportunity to click on the words "Save password." Is this a new Mozilla dialog box that displays your login details and password? Thank you

Very often, it is due to an intermittent server problem and not a problem with your computer.  You should contact the provider of messaging and see there are problems.  See also if you can connect via webmail and if it works.  If so, then try to set up a second copy of your account and see if it works.  Also beware of interference antivirus: see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 and it can help to compact and repair the database of WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/)

    Hello

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the public on the TechNet site. Please post your question in the below link:

  • Windows Live Mail 2012 request username and password

Windows Live Mail 2012 never asked me user and password because it has been installed. After trying to send a photo from my Canon camera software after I had downloaded the images from the camera, asked for the username and password. Joined those from Microsoft. E-mail does not; It is in the Outbox. Choose the icon on desktop for Windows Live Mail 2012 and all contacts are gone. Email arrives, but can not send email. Need problem solved.

If you try to use the Windows function send to > message recipient to send an image, you must be logged into Windows Live Mail. There is a bug in the program.

When you are connected, you will see the contacts that belong to the Microsoft Account sign in to help. These are the same ones you see at http://people.live.com so sign here with the same account. If you are not signed in, you will see the default contacts list. There is no link between these different sets of contacts.

To avoid the bug, start by opening a message compose window in Windows Live Mail (for example by pressing Ctrl-N), and then apply a Insert > single photo to insert an image or images in the body of your message, or attach a file to send in the form of attachments.

If you are not able to send messages, please remove any message not sent from the Outbox, then compose a simple message, try again with a single topic and send it to yourself. Send the error message in your response.

  • Windows Live Mail, repeatedly asking username and password on behalf of Btinternet

Windows Live Mail (Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205) with Windows 7 Professional SP1) is once more throw up repeated requests for user name and password for my btinternet account.  I have not changed my password for this account and you can always use it to access my BT Yahoo mail online.

I tried to go into the details of this account in Windows Live Mail, but it has not solved the problem.

I repeatedly get the error message is:

Can't send or receive messages for the Btinternet account (a.skrimshire123). An incorrect password was entered. The next time that you send or receive messages, you will be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

    Server error: 0x800CCC90
    Server response:-ERR [AUTH] (#MBR1236)
    Server: 'mail.btinternet.com '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC92
    Protocol: POP3
    Port: 110
    Secure (SSL): No.

Thank you very much for the quick response!  but in fact, after my simply going back to try again the problem seems to have resolved itself, without apparent reason, and send/receive in Live Mail now works perfectly!   So I suspect rather a glitch of BT - they seem to have them at the moment, perhaps due to the passage above BT-Yahoo mail BT pending

However, I bookmarked these links for the future, because they could be very useful as the switch to BT on the product - even if your second link, following the plu "Configuring email BT on an e-mail client" link and enter my email as requested on the 'Help with your email' page, I found that my address @btinternet.com has been rejected twice as not being not not a BT address!  So I think it's quite revealing of BT State efficiency for the moment...

Anyway thanks a lot for your answer.

  • Windows security message - homecontrol requires username and password

I'm trying to connect to a site dyndns that used to work and now get the message.

    Windows security

The server .dyndns - Web.com to HomeControl (my username) requires a user name and password.

I tried to enter my information dyndns and other possible combinations of IDs and passwords in case it is one thing to windows, but cannot go beyond that window. I got dyndns send my login and my password to make sure it's entirely accurate, but nothing seems to work. Is there a way to get around this?

He did the same on two different computers. I've tried Google Chrome and get the same pop up screen in a slightly different format. I'll contact DynDNS and see what they say.

Link above has an easy to follow Guide to set up Windows Mail.

Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

They offer your broad band/Dial-up connection.

    Ask them to:

    username
password for your service account to wide band/Dial-Up with them

    Server of incoming POP3 mail
    outgoing mail SMTP server

The above information is required to set up Windows Mail.

ISPS are usually happy to help you set up your email account.

  • Windows Mail requires a user name and password I forgot

Not much more to say other that how can I reset these two identifiers which have not been invited because in about two years, I have been using Vista Business.

    See you soon

    Paddo

Call your ISP or your server, they have your track record, everything.

As to why we asked you username and password, one more possible reason is your AV (anti-virus) program.
Find out if your AV enabled option of electronic analysis. If so, please disable this option.
Have you changed your AV program in 2 years? And changed what?

  • I want to prevent the use of the login and password of CentOS 6.5 to the shared folder Windows 7

Recently, I lost my hard drive Windows 7 Pro to crash and had to rebuild the laptop from scratch. I have set up the laptop to share files on the local network with XP, Vista, and CentOS 6.5 PC. The file sharing (without need of login/password) with all PC work with one exception.

When you use the 'of' the CentOS PC file manager to access the shared folder on Windows 7, I am invited with login/domain/password popup box. I enter the credentials and everything works well. And I have to do it once. The same user name exists on all PCs. But I think the connections via file sharing simply under "guest" or "annonimus. The race of Samba (SMB) of the computer of CentOS version is version 3.6.9. I have tried so many combinations of solutions and none seem to work. See the list below:

    Windows:
    Edit local security policies
Remove the TransportBindName (then add back)
Set UseNewSmb = 0, then returns to 1

    Samba:
security = share and then I tried security = user
client NTLMv2 auth = Yes and return to no.
NTLM auth = none and return to Yes

I am hoping there is a configuration that will prvent the annoying popup login/password.

It seems that my problem has been solved (for me at least). Discovered by searching for another detachment of TechNet
Listed below are the changes. I doubt that all were required, but there still Big Bang solutions seem to always work when dealing with Microsoft operating systems, Yes?

    The registry

    1 KEY: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    DATA: everyoneincludesanonymous = 1

    2 KEY: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    DATA: NoLmHash = 0

    3 KEY: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    DATA: LmCompatibilityLevel = 1

    4. KEY: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer\Parameters
    DATA: restrictnullsessaccess = 0

In the policy editor of local security under the Security Options folder

    1. Microsoft network client: password is sent unencrypted SMB third party = active servers

    In the network sharing Center

    1. go to the advance sharing settings page

    2. Select: Activate sharing files for devices that use encryption 40 or 56-bit

    Test:

    1. reboot Windows 7

    2 reboot the Linux server

    3. open Linux Network Browser (Thunar) application

4 navigate in the actions of Windows 7 without having to enter the login/password: success!

  • Dell Windows 7 recovery/restore factory - Windows problem requires the user ID and password after recovery full? Why?

I have a desktop Dell Inspiron 580 with Windows 7 Home Premium. I did a full system recovery using the recovery partition on the hard drive first where it erases all data and gives back to the factory condition. After the restoration, when Windows starts for the first time, he returned to the normal login screen requiring a user ID and password.  Why is this? I can't continue because there is no user ID and password when you wait for all the data to be wiped and starting a restore factory complete.

I realized a second time with the same results.

I realized a third time using the Dell recovery disk set, done using the Dell program on the computer before the restore operation. I watched the program perform a partition formatting, so all data should be erased. I got the same results by asking an existing user ID and password.

Now, I did complete factory restore a fourth time by using the recovery discs. I always get the same results.

When Windows 7 starts for the first time, every time, I expect windows to ask me to create a new user and password.  Instead, Windows starts to askling normal login for an existing user ID and password screen. What is the cause of this problem? I see many people with this problem in the forums. I have not found a real solution.

    Thanks for any help. :-)
