Windows security message - homecontrol requires username and password

I'm trying to connect to a site dyndns that used to work and now get the message.

Windows security

The server .dyndns - Web.com to HomeControl (my username) requires a user name and password.

I tried to enter my information dyndns and other possible combinations of IDs and passwords in case it is one thing to windows, but cannot go beyond that window. I got dyndns send my login and my password to make sure it's entirely accurate, but nothing seems to work. Is there a way to get around this?

He did the same on two different computers. I've tried Google Chrome and get the same pop up screen in a slightly different format. I'll contact DynDNS and see what they say.

  • Windows Live Mail 2012 request username and password

Windows Live Mail 2012 never asked me user and password because it has been installed. After trying to send a photo from my Canon camera software after I had downloaded the images from the camera, asked for the username and password. Joined those from Microsoft. E-mail does not; It is in the Outbox. Choose the icon on desktop for Windows Live Mail 2012 and all contacts are gone. Email arrives, but can not send email. Need problem solved.

If you try to use the Windows function send to > message recipient to send an image, you must be logged into Windows Live Mail. There is a bug in the program.

When you are connected, you will see the contacts that belong to the Microsoft Account sign in to help. These are the same ones you see at http://people.live.com so sign here with the same account. If you are not signed in, you will see the default contacts list. There is no link between these different sets of contacts.

To avoid the bug, start by opening a message compose window in Windows Live Mail (for example by pressing Ctrl-N), and then apply a Insert > single photo to insert an image or images in the body of your message, or attach a file to send in the form of attachments.

If you are not able to send messages, please remove any message not sent from the Outbox, then compose a simple message, try again with a single topic and send it to yourself. Send the error message in your response.

  • Windows Live Mail, repeatedly asking username and password on behalf of Btinternet

Windows Live Mail (Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205) with Windows 7 Professional SP1) is once more throw up repeated requests for user name and password for my btinternet account.  I have not changed my password for this account and you can always use it to access my BT Yahoo mail online.

I tried to go into the details of this account in Windows Live Mail, but it has not solved the problem.

I repeatedly get the error message is:

Can't send or receive messages for the Btinternet account (a.skrimshire123). An incorrect password was entered. The next time that you send or receive messages, you will be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

    Server error: 0x800CCC90
    Server response:-ERR [AUTH] (#MBR1236)
    Server: 'mail.btinternet.com '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC92
    Protocol: POP3
    Port: 110
    Secure (SSL): No.

Thank you very much for the quick response!  but in fact, after my simply going back to try again the problem seems to have resolved itself, without apparent reason, and send/receive in Live Mail now works perfectly!   So I suspect rather a glitch of BT - they seem to have them at the moment, perhaps due to the passage above BT-Yahoo mail BT pending

However, I bookmarked these links for the future, because they could be very useful as the switch to BT on the product - even if your second link, following the plu "Configuring email BT on an e-mail client" link and enter my email as requested on the 'Help with your email' page, I found that my address @btinternet.com has been rejected twice as not being not not a BT address!  So I think it's quite revealing of BT State efficiency for the moment...

Anyway thanks a lot for your answer.

  • opening windows mail ask me a username and password

Could not connect in windows mail

This is Windows mail.  Windows Live Mail can be a little different, but the solution may be similar, unless your problem is unable to connect to Windows Live in the first place?

Your settings are correct for your type of e-mail account?  Most ISPs do not require a box checked for a secure connection.  They do need to have a legitimate user name (email address) and a password.

In Windows Mail, check tools / accounts / mail / xxxxxx to your email provider / properties / servers, there are two checkboxes at the bottom (for the logon and authentication) which if are checked, you can try to remove the tick.

Your ISP should be able to help you in this case, because they know what settings you need.

  • 'Username and password do not match. "You provided."

During the last 2 weeks, I get an error at startup of the system window. The window reads as follows:

'Username and password do not match. You provided * "."
(* being the actual name, but it does not indicate if the user name or the password or the associated application.)
The given name is a prefix of email address, which I use in a lot of applications or connection on the web sites, so I guess that's a username, and a password, as I never use this as a password.

There is no indication as to which application is affected by this error, nor find any application that does not work because of this.
Other than this error, the system starts normally, and I can't find has not caused by this problem request
I searched on the event viewer as well as my experience possible, and don't find any reference to this error in the newspapers, at least so far.

Is it possible to know which application is trying to 'connect' with these credentials to the system startup (if everything goes well except an exclusion by one of each application in the msconfig startup configuration)?
Where can I find the details for this error log in the event viewer?
    Thank you
    Doug

Very often, it is due to an intermittent server problem and not a problem with your computer.  You should contact the provider of messaging and see there are problems.  See also if you can connect via webmail and if it works.  If so, then try to set up a second copy of your account and see if it works.  Also beware of interference antivirus: see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 and it can help to compact and repair the database of WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/)

  • I have a problem connecting to the internet. A windows security message appears requesting a user name and password.

    network/security problem

I have a problem connecting to the internet. A windows security message appears requesting a user name and password. I spoke with my internet provider and they say it's problems with windows. Administering the computer was an old laptop that isn't in use anymore so I can't change the admin settings. Is that what you can offer and do you need more information about me?

How you connect to the internet, dsl / comcast / wireless.

The installation disk of your ISP to the main computer, then put it to the top with a modem what ever, after that you can reload the disc of routers and probably have to reset the default password,

Once you get the configuration of your Internet service provider again then your router again you can re - enter the wireless or wired computers to the new network,

  • Username and password required to access the security settings

I have a HP5520e printer all in one. I'm putting it to scan to my computer. The instructions say I should activate Webscan from the administrator under settings and Security Options. When I try to access the settings of the administrator I wonder a user name and password. Should what username and password I enter here?

    gnomad899,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

    Start with the standard:

    admin = admin

password = password (or leave the field blank)

This assumes, of course, you have not used EWS (built-in web server) and a password for her before - what you CAN do using the integrated Web server.  Once you do not set a password using the EWS page, whenever you want to watch some settings, set some parameters, you must enter the password that you set up.

EWS is simply the webpage to the printer interface - as if you use a web page to talk to your router software.  Same thing: sort of, except that you type in the IP of the printer on your browser instead of router, of course.

    ============================================================================

    If it won't let you

You can try to reset the printer.   Be aware that if you do this, you need to re enter all previously entered information (wireless settings, etc.).

You may be able to reset the printer on the front panel - settings > settings default (or similar).

    OR

Troubleshooting > troubleshooting > printer keeps no connection Wi-Fi

Fourth step: reset the printer and wireless router and then restart the computer

Follow these steps to reset your printer and your wireless router, and then restart your computer.

  • Windows Mail keeps asking for my username and password, and even if they are correct he still doesn't and comes repeatedly asks me for the info

That makes me MAD! Windows Mail - checking the user name and password &!

    It makes me crazy.

For the last few days my Windows Mail keeps asking for my username and password and even if they are correct it still doesn't and comes repeatedly asks me for the info again and again. I deleted the account mail twice now and re added it but it still does not work. I can send emails but not receive. I have McAfee but I aiinstalle only this yesterday so that isn't the problem. the error message is:-
Account: 'mail.talktalk.net', server: 'mail.talktalk.net', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR Authentication failed.', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

Please help I need to retrieve my emails! Thanks, Sarah

McAfee is a huge problem with Windows Mail.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 if you want to use, wait until you get the job of Winmail.

Check if you can connect webmail and that works very well and it's not a problem on the end of the server messaging or because of misspelled powers.  Then delete your account in WinMail, compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and make sure that you have disabled the e-mail analysis then add your account to mail back again and see if it works.

  • Windows Mail: Get a pop-up asking for my username and password

    Original title: "windows mail problem"

From yesterday I can't open Windows Mail.  I get a pop up asking for my username and password.  I was sure that I had good, but since then I have rebuilt the account and still get the same pop up.  This is what happens in the error message:

Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR [AUTH] username/password invalid ', Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

I downloaded Windows Live Mail and that no longer works.  I tried to configure Outlook and got the same result.  I have another identity on this computer and it works fine.  I read that Norton and MacAfee can have that effect, but I don't have one or the other.  I just downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials this week and email worked fine up until yesterday.   I contacted ATT, but they do not support Windows Mail.  I need more ideas here.

Check with AT & T, or the Yahoo Server. They have made of your user name and password. Compare them with those that you entered when you first set up the account.
The rest of the settings of your look ok to me.
