What wrong with the search bar?
Firefox is seriously p * ing me off today, what's wrong with the browser, it serves to be one of the best, now an absolute piece of software of the waste processed sound.
Anway my problem is, AFTER upgrading firefox, I can't use my SEARCH BAR to look for anything!
I continue to redirect to this
file:///C:/users/Kamran/appdata/roaming/ToolbarInstaller/ToolbarInstaller/1.0.0.0/Google.html
which is not very useful!
I think it might be interesting to switch to google chrome and get rid of that junk!

Hi, I did what you said and disabled all add ons and one allowed them and managed to make it work. It was the 'googlebar update"add that I disabled it and everything went back to normal
Thank you very much

I can't locate the "search bar" when I type ctrl-f. Where is he?
I display the AVG Security toolbars, Navigation and editing, running Windows XP Pro. I don't know what looks like the search bar, so I can't seem to find it anywhere.
This should appear at the bottom of the screen and the width of the window.
Try in safe mode and with all plugins disabled, maybe something interferes with the search toolbar.

This seems to be something new, but I usually use the built in the toolbar to search at the top right of my Firefox window to search eBay and I usually go to the Firefox default Home/Start for searches on Google page. Now, it seems that whenever I try to search from the home/start page, I get the results of any search engine is specified in the top search bar. So if toolbar is set to 'eBay' and I search something on the homepage, only eBay results appear.
I don't want to do. I want that the Google search home page every time, no matter what is on my search toolbar. It's really annoying to have to go to the search bar engine resume Google and then my search. I often open new tabs quickly find something relevant to what I'm working on because it requires less effort to hit Ctrl + T to open a new tab that is already on the cover with my cursor in the search field, than using the toolbar where I have to take my hands on the keyboard to use the mouse. How can I fix it. This "improvement" sucks.I forgot an obvious solution to this problem. I just changed my homepage of "www.google.com" rather than use the default Firefox homepage. In hindsight, it makes little sense to use the default Firefox homepage as an intermediary to Google anyway.

When I search a Word using the search bar, Firefox highlights all the hits on the page. (Sometimes it highlights some.)
Apparently, he sees shots, because it climbs to everyone that I click Next. But it is not to highlight the successes. I don't see what Firefox has found.
I'm afraid that it is a problem of Windows 7 (I'm not a fan of Win7).
Are you clicking on "highlight all" in the search bar? See: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Searching+within+a+page

I used to use the address bar of Firefox to search for things on Google and the search bar to search for things on Wikipedia. The convenience, especially with the shortcuts Ctrl + L and Ctrl + K has been incredible and I don't understand why this feature would disappear so I guess that it simply was hidden without subject: config somewhere. How can I go on revenant Firefox which is previous feature?
Note: I use the Nightly build of Firefox for 64-bit systems, if this issue must be addressed specifically to this branch of development please directly to where I can do.
From 23 of Firefox, the address bar uses the search engine selected in your search bar.
Assign keywords to your search engines, then the prefix of your search in the address bar query, for example
g gingerbread recipes
Google search for revenues of gingerbread.
For more information, see the section "Key words" in the following article.
If you can't stand absolutely avoid typing two extra characters, then you can try the following extension. It has not been considered by a Firefox Add-ons site editor, so use it at your own risk.

Cannot search with the address bar of firefox
COR - el and another person suggested bugs. None worked. As suggested by Cor - el, I now get keyword enabled as TRUE. Research still does not work. It changes search word to a URL, however - a step in the right direction perhaps.
Sorry, I could not put it in a replt thread, but it would not allow me.Hello
Try this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/
The add-on that above is very simple: when installing, it backs up then resets your search and preferences of the home page to their default values, and then to uninstall. This affects the search bar, search bar URL, and the home page.
It will be useful.

After the upgrade to Firefox 34.0 Firefox 33.2.2 (?) I noticed that the search bar it did not display my search engines. Search engines still exist in the folder but are not visible. However, typing a word in the search bar causes a section of my display flashes all by pressing "enter" will correctly look for the word on Wikipedia, my first search engine. Unfortunately for me, by the time I typed this search bar seems to work fine now. Thus, in addition to a late evening, what the hell just happened, and will this crawling bug returns with each update? What is a linux question (IE. 5.3.3 puppy)?
34 Firefox has a whole new search bar and associated Options tab.
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/search-bar-add-change-manage-search-engines-FirefoxYou can return to the former regime of the search with this bar.
Open Subject: config (typed in the address bar) and turn this false preference
browser.search.showOneOffButtons
Then restart Firefox. -
Firefox takes the address bar in the search bar.
Every time I do a search on Google, I start typing, and all of a sudden, my text stops to appear in the search bar and begins to appear in the address bar. This also happens when I'm looking at YouTube, and when I try to copy a link in the 'Sharing' tab on a video, it automatically jumps to the address bar. Firefox seems to think that it is now Google, I guess? It does only on Web sites run by Google.
Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables certain parameters, disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:
- In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button
click Help
then select restart with disabled modules.
- In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
- On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.
When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.
- In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

How can I move buttons between the address bar and the search bar?
I use for home, Developer Web, Download and so forth, to the right of the address bar, between that and the Google bar.
But now I can't move in there, with the latest version of Firefox.
I wish that when they create a new version, they would not take away what we customize things to do. so I can get all of them back?

In customize I get the dots around the search and address bar, they cannot be changed.
- The dashed border points out that you can drag and drop things here. White tile on the new tab Page have a similar design.
- The search bar can be moved.
- The address bar is pinned in place, unless you install Classic theme restaurateur.

Strange message appears when searching for the search bar
This happens whenever I search from the search bar...
I type a few words into the search bar and press ENTER. Then a small dialog box (subtitled "Application Javascript") appears, displaying a short message: shows "research #2", as the attached picture.»
I have to press the OK button in the dialog box to close it. The research begins to move forward.
What does this message mean short? How can I get rid of him?
Nothing is changed in the "manage search engine list.

If this does not work in mode without failure, then disable all extensions and then try to find out who is the cause by allowing both the problem reappears.

- Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')
