  • Pavilion P6203w: What exactly is activehealth.exe?

Is someone can you please tell me what activehealth.exe is? all I was able to determine is that"ActiveHealth.exe is known as HP active health and it is developed by Hewlett-Packard .  Once I started my system, the disk access light will appear and stay balanced. When I go to the performance monitor, I see that activehealth.exe made a huge amount of e/s. This continues until the PC freezes and requires a reboot. When I run in safe mode, this does not happen. I also noticed that in safe mode, Activehealth.exe does not work. What is that program that could cause the e/s?

    Royearle, welcome to the forum.

The active Health.exe HP monitors your computer to ensure that they are running correctly.  I think that the way to solve your problem is to install the latest version of HP Support Assistant here.  You choose the version appropriate for your computer.

  • using the .ini file created by EXE

First of all I would like to say that I have a thorough knowledge of the .ini files and the need for them.  My question is related specifically to the .ini file that is created with the executable.  I searched the forum but have not found any instance of my question specifically.  After installation, the .exe and .ini are placed in my working directory in Program Files, which I expected.  The .ini file that is created is attached.

Now, I would like to point to a different .ini that stores control settings.  I did it in the App generator under Advanced > Use Custom Config File.  That's fine and dandy, but the network, web, settings etc that have been created in the original .ini does not get included in my new .ini.  If my option is to use an .ini file separated with my control as well as created by the .exe parameters.  This seems redundant.

My question is: does nothing my executable with the .ini file that is created when it starts to run?  I'd be OK NOT to have attached items if I wanted to point to a custom .ini file?  Why create an .ini with these specific settings file if the .exe does nothing with them?

The only article I found is this one

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/5467F7D7895835C186256FAF00600A21?OpenDocument

but it does not explain what the .exe is done with it, if anything.  I guess you have a total control over the .ini and there is nothing "automatic / backstage" going on here.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Why remind you the application builder to a custom INI file if you are going to have to read the chips inside manually anyway?  The reason to use a custom within the app Builder INI file is so that you can include specific parameters of execution (VI, access list server, port etc.) which are different from the settings using the LabVIEW development environment.

You need not key in the INI file for your run-time application (as evidenced by the fact that if you delete the INI file, your exe will still works, creating a new INI file with default values).  If you leave the defaults, the application adds in the first leg in any case.

You can store your own data in the same INI file used by the executable file; just put the keys in a different section.  LabVIEW Config File format INI files screws slightly differently (for example adding spaces around the = sign), but I didn't know it causes problems.

Operating system is Window CE 6.0 computer is a 'Wireless, accounting NET 7pouces book '.  That's all I can tell you about it. Say, it's on the box, and there is no manufacturing contact information in the user manual. • How can I get rid of a pop-up - found Sttray.Exe-entry point

When I start my computer, I get the following pop up: Sttray.Exe entry point not found. The procedure entry point locate string could not be located in the dynamic link library stlang.dll. Please how can I get rid of this pop up, and what it means? Thank you. PS my computer is a Dell Inspiron 9400, and I run Windows XP.

    Hi Lewisday,

I do not think it is a virus problem or infection - this is a notice of failed to start, not a type of infection of popup.  I think you have a problem with loading the Sigmatel Audio driver.  Go to Device Manager and check to see if it shows problems with the driver.  Go to control panel / sound and make sure you can configure everything you should be able to do it - if it is not charging I expect you have some type of audio issue.

Here is the info on sttray.exe: http://www.what-is-exe.com/filenames/sttray-exe.html.

I also have the chance to have a Dell 9400/E1705 laptop and this applies to the Sigmatel Audio driver.  You should check your Dell Service tag number, but will probably end up here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats?DriverId=NN9X1&FileId=2940571307&productCode=inspiron-9400&urlProductCode=False.

It runs at startup for me.  It seems that you are having problems with the driver.  I recommend that you download and update the driver on the system and restart and who may well solve your problem.  You would therefore, by using Device Manager.

Without it, you can have problems with your sound (maybe not completely - but maybe in terms of getting the best quality).  I've never tried without it and I have mine set to update for Vista now.

If you do not want to see what happens if you don't just run this application at startup (which will remove the popup as well) and since it is more likely is not already running anyway and yet you don't mention sound problems (maybe you do not just use anything but computers audio base that maybe does not need - I'm not sure) , you can go to start / run and type msconfig.exe, and then enter.  Go to the faucet of startup and uncheck the box next to Sigmatel or sttray.exe, save the changes and reboot.  I bet that the notice has disappeared-, but did you notice changes to your audio files?  If this is not the case, then perhaps you can live without it if the above has not resolved things.

In any event it is not a virus, removing startup thing will remove the popup and update the driver may solve the problem and allow the feature to stay (if you notice or care).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    Kosh

  • Cannot remove kvthost.exe infection

    original title: kvthost.exe

Under XP Home SP3 all updates on a Dell 4550, 2 GB ram, P4 3.06 Ghz, Nvidia 6800GS AGP, 120 Gb HD.

I have a recurring problem with a file marked by Advanced SystemCare. The file is called kvthost.exe and is located in the Windows system32 folder. Advanced SystemCare is an of Gen Trojan horse and spyware. It cleans only to find when I scan after a week or two...

Does anyone know what kvthost.exe is. By looking at the file properties, it shows as being created in 2003 and accessed for the last time in 2008 with a 1.1 MB file size.

NOD32 and SuperAntiSpyware detects this problem, only Advanced SystemCare.

I believe that this infection is part of a rootkit. That would explain why you did not completely get rid of it!

    You use the following programs:
    aswMBR:

  • Photoshop CC2015 crashes with an error Sniffer.exe, help to see my GTX960M

I tried to get CC2015 to see my GTX960M at the advanced graphics feature but I get intermittent success.  I use a laptop Dell XPS15 that relies mainly on the graphic component Intel integrated graphics functions. Photoshop has enabled the graphic feature advanced (intermittently) when CC has been selected in the specific part of the relevant application of the Nvidia control panel but I get a driver, error message, and the advanced features in preferences/performance are greyed out from time to time.  I have removed sniffer.exe since the Adobe CC2015 folder and the error message disappeared, and the feature performance captures properly the Nvidia card.  Can you get it someone please let me know what sniffer.exe is for?

Sniffer evaluates the graphics driver to be sure that it is at the request of Photoshop.

Removing it removes the security check, and your work may be interrupted by video related problems.

  • acrodist.exe rely on its own and hogging continually 1 processor

In our company, we noticed on several machines acrodist.exe (Acrobat Distiller) environment is randomly maxing out CPU 1 kernel. Dual-core computer so now it is 50% use, use of 25% of hearts, octa-core 12.5% CPU utilization.

It is same when the end user does not use an Acrobat or PDF-related applications. After investigation, using Process Explorer, we noticed about 10 minutes after the first start, for some reason acrotray.exe called distill (acrodist.exe) in the context of users by using the following command line:

    acrodist/n/p - UseSystemFonts Q:15

acrodist.exe process then proceeds to run 1 CPU maxing out indefinitely until it is completed manually from the Task Manager.

Using Help files , I know what that switch parameters n/n/n (a new instance of the Distiller) and /Q:15 (quit after 15 seconds of completion) are, but I cannot know what p - UseSystemFonts ask to be distilled to make. Anyone got any ideas? Our theory is that's stuck dealing with a police force but no idea that is. Any help would be appreciated.

We have tried to analyse the process using Process Explorer and Process Monitor threads, but have not been able to get something useful from what acrodist.exe is doing or what he's stuck on.

Confirmed the existence of this problem at least 140 of our machines from Win7 SP1 (32 and 64 bit) with Acrobat XI (v11), Standard and Pro versions are affected.

We have determined when acrodist.exe is blowing further than trying to read the path defined in the string (by default) under:

    HKCU\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Distiller\AdobePDFSettings\

This string contains the local path below:

    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings

but for some reason, it fails to read the C:\ProgramData\... path. In our environment, it was because of our 3rd party user profile virtualization solution called AppSense Environment Manager. Stopping AppSense Management acrodist.exe customization EM has apparently solved the problem.

In addition, I just wanted to add, this affected only users who had launched Acrobat Distiller in the Start Menu at least once before, this action has added the registry location in their profile what EM AppSense could not read. If they have never launched the tool to distil then they usually have a problem, even if they use daily from Acrobat. Most users we found will that in Acrobat, only more advanced power users will open to distill, so this is why it did not affect all computers.

  • vSphere Client exe file take run

    Hello

I downloaded the client vSphere exe file and double click it.

It shows the normal 'open file - security warning' like any what other exe and I press button 'run '.

    Nothing happens.

When I run the file as an administrator, nothing happens too. nothing. as I have not yet pushed.

    my computer:

    CPU Intel i7 2600 3.4 Ghz

    4 G memory

    Win7 Enterprise

    64 bit.

Why nothing is happening when I ru the vSphere Client install exe?

More questions than one. Run any software protection AV or endpoint on the host? In this case, make sure that these applications do not block installation. Even if this was not a problem with the vSphere Client - but only with VMware Workstation/Player - looking for a process of "fixcamera.exe". If this is the case, you can try to kill him before starting the installation.
