  You can change the zoom to be specific tab instead of in-situ.

  You may need to reset your preferences of hearing files stored in C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\5.0. If you rename this folder in 5.0.bak that hearing won't find it when you open the next time if it will recreate a new settings with the default settings folder.   It is a known problem since updating to 3.8 Air. You can downgrade to a previous version of Air as a workaround to this problem until this problem is fixed in a future release. See the similar thread next - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5561789.
