When I launch firefox or refresh the home page I keep geetting asking another tab to add the yahoo toolbar, when I already

See attachment below

It's a little too easy to end up with labels multiple 'home '. To verify that you can use the page Options, as described in this article: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.

Look for a vertical bar character at the heart of the area that separates the two addresses. A simple example with short URLS:

https://mail.yahoo.com/|https://addons.mozilla.org/

The bar certainly can be hard to spot with long URLs, but when you find it, delete everything to the right of the bar, then the bar itself (I suggest to remove the last bar so things don't accidentally get it together).

I was just in Firefox 4. Now, whenever I hit the home the current page button goes to my homepage (which is what I want), BUT it also opens another tab - I just want to go to my home page without having to open another tab that I then have to close. Any ideas?

Gotcha. Go to your desired homepage and close all the tabs you want to NOT open when you click the home button. Then, you have several ways to update the home page setting as described in the article.

  • This morning when I started Firefox it shows my home page as screwed up as yesterday but Safari has shown as it should look like, what is wrong?

I currently use version 3.6.24 Firefox on my PPC mac with 10.4.11 system. I use Firefox for many years without any problems. I received yesterday and on my screen to alert that there is a new update of Firefox available at the facility. I clicked on OK and the update started. When it's over, I checked and it's the same version, 3.6.24, I used and apparently nothing has changed until I went to my eBay site. Once on my site, I signed in and went to manage my Articles page. The page was different because normally it shows all the items, I have for sale and at the top of the list of points of sale are the three items to check and look at my listings, which I look at you, my profile and my alerts. When you click on one of them you are normally taken to another page. When I went there after apparent installation of the updated release of Firefox page showed my ads in a single column, my profile in another column and third column for my alerts all on one page. This is not normal. I got out and went to my home page which is http://www.rr.com/. Now it was different. Parts of the site have disappeared, the sections with the weather, news, and reviews. I thought it might be the site and then I launched Safari and went to the same page and it is normal. This morning when I started Firefox it shows my home page as screwed up as yesterday. Safari has shown as it should look like. I then started SeaMonkey and it showed the page as it should look like. I really like Firefox and I'd like to get it working again as it should. Would appreciate any suggestions. My email address is [email protected]

Hi, try this signed Yahoo Toolbar add-on.

If you still have the menu bar of Firefox (with file on that), then right-click in the tab bar - but not on a tab, and then select menu bar.

  • How is it that everytime I open Firefox, I get my home page more another blank tab?

After you install a new motherboard on my Dell, everytime I open Firefox, I get my home page more another blank tab. Never happened before. Help!

This problem may be caused by the MySearchDial extension.

You can also check if you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time you start Firefox.

The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.
You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: open with) If you do not create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

  • Remove the Yahoo toolbar in Firefox 12

I can't get rid of the Yahoo toolbar in Firefox 12. It does not arise in extensions or add-ons.

I have eliminated all programs of Yahoo (toolbar, IM and update programs) in the Control Panel Add/Remove programs.

I restarted Firefox in safe mode. There is still no Yahoo modules or Extensions that appear.

I then went to help. Troubleshooting information | See file

I clicked on the record Show.

There is a folder called "Yahoo! Inc.". When I open Yahoo Inc., there is another folder called ytoolbar. I deleted Yahoo! Inc. when Firefox was open and it was closed. As soon as I restart Firefox, the file of Yahoo Inc. is recreated.

I can't remove the Yahoo Inc. folder permanently.

    It is an invasive program.

How can I get rid of him?

The problem is resolved. I deleted a subdirectory in the Extensions folder, even if no extension was visible. Here is a screenshot:
    http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/319/extensionssubdirectoryamw.jpg

    Here's where the folder:
    C:\Users\KHS\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\is9gtev5.default\extensions

The subdirectory highlighted contained a lot of Yahoo. So I just blew the whole subdirectory. The other key point is that the subdirectory is born at the date of installation of Yahoo.

    Problem is solved.

  • The orange Firefox button and the Navigation toolbar is on the same line

Someone interfered with my Firefox settings and goofed a bit. Now the orange Firefox button and the Navigation toolbar are on the same line/line, as shown in the image below. Can you help me with the Firefox orange button at the top of the Navigation toolbar (as usually is the case)?

    http://PUU.sh/4NoO8.jpg

Thank you very much! I had this same problem. I'd rather have my tabs at the top, in line with the orange. For some reason any that an add-on reset my 'browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar' to false, which looked horrible and wasted a whole bar of space by the presence of a large space empty on the top of my screen. It fixed my problem!

  • How to fix the yahoo toolbar

My yahoo toolbar is not editable, and is essentially useless. The button refresh does not work, and none of the icons (apps) are ones I used to have. Yahoo instructions suggest using the sign, which doesn't seem so. I've seen other people with similar problems, but mine is with Firefox version 20.0 and Windows 7. My computer is new, and I used sync to keep my settings in Firefox, bookmarks, etc, which may or not be related to the problem. Yahoo help was better and more personalized. Now I can not even find a way to communicate with them. Someone elsewhere on this site gave a phone number, but I've been waiting forever. Any ideas?

One of the earlier answers suggested a reinstall of Firefox using this link
    http://downloads.Yahoo.com/Firefox/?code=108
You don't have to uninstall Firefox.

I tried on my first computer and it worked. Now, I did to the laptop and I ' m back in business. When I restart Firefox it does not update to a newer version. What I have not done is shut down my computer so, I keep my fingers crossed. I don't know who it is - the fault Yahoo or Firefox, but I hope that they prevent this from happening again. I am lost without my Special icons on the Yahoo toolbar.
