Hello

When I try to open a PDF in a Web site, I get a runtime error and the site is stopped. How can I fix this problem? I am running Windows XP Home Edition.

Hello.

I guess you are using Acrobat Reader to view the PDF files?

You can try to download the latest version of Acrobat Reader here:

  • I can't open PDFs on my PC after the passage of Adobe Creative on my Mac.  When you try to open a PDF on my PC, I now get a message asking me to specify a 'serial number' who says that my trial version has expired.  What should I do?

It's VERY frustrating.  I can't open PDF files without having to enter my serial number Adobe Creative Suite.  I know not why this happens because the reader is a free product and should not have an affiliation with paid products, such as Creative Suite.  Help, please!

In other words, NOT with the Adobe Acrobat which is part of Creative Suite. If you can no longer use Creative Suite, it might be as well to uninstall.

Try the solution in this thread for the pencil icon:

    • Remove the Firefox icon from the dock.
    • Create a new icon by dragging the Firefox application to the dock.

You may have gotten this one pop up in the past and checked the box to always use this choice.

You need to remove this action in ' Firefox > Preferences > Applications "or delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all the actions file if you can't find it in" Firefox > Preferences > Applications.

    Hi Gary,.

Are you facing this issue only when you open pdf files?

    Method 1:

You can try uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe software and check if it helps.

    Uninstall a program

    Method 2:

You also try to run the system restore.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To run the system restore, you can consult the following links:

Thanks a lot for your help. I finally found a way to open the PDF file by saving it to my documents folder then right-click to open it in Adobe Reader. This has proved to be a more useful to any similar future problem solution.

  • When I try to open a PDF file with adobe Acrobat reader Windows Media Center automatically appears.

When I try to open a PDF file with adobe Acrobat reader, windows media center automatically opens. How to prevent this? I just want to open the PDF file with Acrobat reader.

The solution I think. If you right-click on one of the files and select open the file locations it now combined the file with adobe reader.

Yes - you simply need to change the associated file (and path) back to Adobe Reader.  (If that's your choice PDF reader.)

    If you did this:

Press the Windows Logo and R key at the same time to bring up the dialog box RUN.
Once you have the dialog box up, type in the following command and press OK...

    cmd /k ftype AcroExch.Document

That he return with? Should be something like:

    AcroExch.Document = "C:\Program files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" '%1'

    Hi Meenakshi,

Thanks for getting back to me. The problem is solved now. We had to reinstall Acrobat DC who, for some reason, had disappeared.
