When I try to open firefox, it is apparent every time "you want to allow changes to your hard drive.

Updated Firefox while trying to solve a problem with a brother fax reader update for windows 7, now whenever I go to firefox, it appears, "You want to allow changes to your hard drive" as if she's not finished, so I answer 'yes', is the browser firefox, but if I go out go back in it did the same thing.
in the pop - up is listed; Leader (x 86) Mozilla firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program
But when I search, nothing

Check that you are not Firefox running as administrator.

Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".

In the Compatibility tab, make sure that this level of privilege: "Run this program as an administrator" is not selected.

You should also check the firefox.exe program properties in the Firefox program directory.

If you can't make the changes, then you must start Windows Explorer as an administrator.

    Hello

What have you tried so far?

Can you try reinstalling Firefox? Uninstall it from your control panel > programs and features/add / remove programs (if you want to keep your bookmarks and other information, not deletion of personal information). After uninstallation, delete the Mozilla Firefox folder to remove the remnants of files damaged uninstallation (your profile is in a different location, so will not be affected by the present):

    • (installation of 32-bit) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    • (installation of 64-bit) C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox

Download and reinstall the latest version:

  • Receive an error about a missing file message when I try to open Firefox

When I tried to open Firefox today I received a message about a missing (Wrusr.ddl) file and that Firefox was not able to open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it did not work. I have no idea what this file is or where it went. I used Firefox 2 days ago and it was working fine. • When I try to open Firefox and explore, I get a menu of recommended programs and asked me to choose the program with which to open the file.

Original title: open Firefox and explore

When I leave early to Mozilla Firefox or Explorer, I get a menu of recommended programs and asked me to choose the program with which to open the file. When I do, I get a security warning asking if I really want to do. If I check "Run", I get redirected to the previous list, and I find myself in a circle without end. It does not matter what choice to make. Used to be that I went from starting Firefox directly.  I can get in if I have Firefox right click and choose to run the file as an administrator and then give permission to open the program. How can I cut these two additional and direct access, that I used to enjoy. I run Vista. The same thing happens if I have to explore. Would be grateful for the help.

    Hello

1 during how long have you had the problem?
    2. don't you make changes to your computer before the problem?

I suggest that you follow the steps below and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

When you run an .exe on a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7 computer file, the file may start another program
    Method 2:

    Step 1:

Make SFC scan and check if this is related to missing or damaged system files.

    Step 2:

After the SFC scan, set the file association and check.

    Method 3:

Test the issue in a new user account .

  • When I try to open firefox, it says "cannot load your Firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible. » ?

The reason why I deleted my firefox profile on my MAC and uninstalled firefox is because it was not appearing in the application menu or the dock and I have found whenever I wanted to use it. I couldn't put it on the dock or anything like that.
When I downloaded again and tried to start it, there was the error message, "unable to load your Firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible. "And now I can't use it at all.

You must remove the file profiles.ini so because Firefox registers all the profiles you see in the Profile Manager in this file and delete the file on disk, Firefox will display this error message.

Otherwise, you will need to use the Profile Manager to create a new profile.

  • Lately everytime I open firefox I get the window «do you want this program to make changes to your computer...» »

    Hello

I would be so grateful to know how to fix t his, because it's really getting on my nerves.

I have windows 7 pro 64 bit. I mostly always use firefox. Whenever i opened a new browser, I never got hit with the windows badge and "Do you want this program to make changes to your computer...." or something to that effect. YOu who have windows 7 know what I mean. Of course I click yes, but I NEVER had to do this before. I don't know what changed, what might have happened. I had to have help with some software unrelated to firefox and someone had remote work on my notebook, but he should not have changed browser settings. It is really irritating me to now end to always open the browser now and have to hear that annoying thing and the badge.

My other browsers IE and chrome do not do this.

How can I fix this? It was never the case before for years.

Thank you thank you very much in advance. I can't use this browser if that's going to happen, he finds himself on my nerves.

A possible cause of this message, it is that Firefox is configured to run as administrator.

Make sure that Firefox is not set to run as administrator.
Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are disabled in the tab "Compatibility" in the Properties window.

    • Privilege level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
    • "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" must not be selected

Also check the firefox.exe program properties in the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) folder.
If you cannot make changes, and then start Windows Explorer as an administrator.

  • When I try to open Firefox it says "Firefox is already ongoing enforcement... » ? !

It started yesterday after I did a reset of Firefox. It worked perfectly after that, but when I closed and tried to reopen the program I constantly get a message saying "Firefox is already running but is not responding... »

Here are the steps I have already taken to try to resolve the problem:

1A sought the Firefox process in my task manager to complete but impossible to locate
    2 restarted my computer
3 has tried to open an older version of a restore point but get the same message "Firefox is already running...". ».
4A sought solutions in support of mozilla, but couldn't find one that worked.

    Help, please!

It turns out that I have had accidentally ticked the 'Read only' box in my AppData folder in my user account properties. This had somehow apparently prevented Firefox from termination or restart... or both, I don't know exactly why. After going back and uncheck the read-only Firefox starts fine.

Thanks for your suggestion if ideato!

  • When I try to open Firefox I get a message: "update could not be installed. Make sure that there is not another instance of Firefox. Restart and try again. »

    Something.on 29 started w/FF SP3 Win XP (Home)

W/taskmanager verified and PS there is no other instance of FF.
Only happens in my profile, administrator and other users do not receive this message.

    First reset, did not work.
Safe mode also did not work.
Uninstalled completely, even deleted my profile Firefox folder and restarted.
New versions of downloaded, installed and same problem.

Firefox now version 33, everything seems to update but I still get this message. When I open help > about he says: I'm the 33 version and restart to upgrade...

    Any ideas greatly appreciated.

    Back to SeaMonkey yet.

    Much thanks ideato.

There was no possibility of not installing the update (in custom installation) as in the installation from the heel, but I went ahead anyway.
This seems to have done the trick.
No error messages in my my profile and FF made a successful update (see screenshot).

    Thanks again
    See you soon

    Loïc Macarena SilviaFigueroa,

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible, the settings in the software security and cleaning of the Windows registry.

    • Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but make sure that 'delete personal data' is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

If you keep problems also create a new profile.

If it's all the .exe you can download and run this fix, it is quite easy for you to do it yourself.

For Windows Vista file association problems

Just click on the .exe box to download the file.  After downloading, unzip it to extract the .reg file to a folder.  As an administrator you then double-click the .reg file unpacked I hope to fix that the associations to open .exe files.  Answer 'yes' to all the guests received during this process.  At completion, reboot and test.
