When installing ha6 on windows server 2008 R2 compatibility issue

Hi, I want to install Virtual Studio 6 on windows server 2008 R2 (to run our legacy code). I encountered the problem of compatibility: "virtual studio has a compatibility issue with this version of windows.

I tried the steps below:
1. right click on "setup.exe" and select "Run as Administrator"
2. run in compatibility mode, such as windows XP sp2.
It does not, someone who can help on this? Thank you!

original title: I get error Service disabled 0 x 80070422 when you install SP1 on Windows Server 2008 R2

I get the above error if you use Windows Update or install SP1 from DVD.

I found that the Windows Modules Installer Service is the service responsible for the error. It is configured to start automatically. When I go to the Dependencies tab I get a pop up that says: "Win32: the service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices is associated to him."
I disabled AVG during an installation attempt.
I followed the troubleshooting steps, by running the update of preparation tool (KB947821 nothing helps.

  • vCenter server 4.1 install not on Windows Server 2008 R2

I just downloaded vCenter server 4.1 and tried to install it on my windows 2008 R2 (64-bit) server, and the installation program always gave me this error:

Description: Product: VMware vCenter Server - this product cannot be installed on operating systems for 64-bit at the following address:
    Windows XP SP2 or higher
    Windows Server 2003
    Windows Server 2008.

After I clicked ok, then the installation process just stopped.  I scoured online for a few hours, but couldn't find an answer.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

This server is also a domain controller?  Installation on a domain controller is not supported and will not work.

  • Fax through Windows Server 2008 R2 Std issues.

Help!  I get "Fatal errors" faxing as well as "send faxes with the help of the selected printer, you must first create a fax account".  messages.  These two happen to Windows 7 Professional PC Fax via a Windows Server 2008 R2 Std fax server.  Unrecoverable errors are somewhat contradictory, but rather ordinary, but the "must first create the account" error whenever a workstation.

On the workstation "must first create the account", it actually sends the fax but the error is misleading for the user.  I removed the fax services in Control Panel, the Windows on the desktop features, rebooted, removed the server account, restarted the server, fax services added the services of fax to the workstation, rebooted, reconnected to the fax server and get always the same message.
On the workstation "Fatal error", I tried tweeking with the settings of the modem (flow control, modem speed, etc.), but still not that problem.

I hesitate on the removal of the fax from the server server role that I have more than a dozen represents the sending and receiving of faxes by him now.
Someone has any suggestions, and if I do not remove the Fax Server since the Windows Server 2008 role when I add I get the same settings as before?
    Thank you.

  • X 64 installed iFilter on Windows Server 2008, but it is not indexing

It seems to be only index the content of documents which have been added after installing the iFilter. It doesn't seem to be indexing of documents that were already on the server before installing the iFilter component. I have to remove and rebuild the search index after installing the iFilter component? Can anyone confirm that for me?

Yes, that would be true for any component snap-in you added in the Windows Search Service.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 DNS issue

    Hello

I created the new domain and try it now one of the boxes to Office XP. The issue I'm having is I cannot join the domain using domain FULL name, but I can join by using the NETBIOS name. I can ping the server by name and IP address, but not by servername.domain.com. When I run NSLOOKUP two devices, PC and server, see each other, although, again by using the NETBIOS name by domain name opposition.

While pushing, I thought when I was joined to the domain I used domainname.com without omitting the .com part and when this does not work I used the NETBIOS name. Thus, it will throw on me, that was the question. At the same time, I joined the field by using the NETBIOS name and ultimately it belongs to domainname.com, but again, when I connect the domain listed in the login screen is the NETBIOS name, not domainname.com. I still cannot ping it and it's the home LAN.

    Any direction is greatly appreciated.

  • Windows server 2008 r2 domain controller deletes printers on windows 2003 Server

We have recently installed two new Windows Server 2008 R2 servers in our field.  one of the new servers is the new domain controller (successor of Windows Server 2003 SBS, which has been decommissioned).  There are two other Windows 2003 servers in the domain.  When we turn off all servers for maintenance and then power them back on, the print on the windows 2003 Server spooler crashes; printers are deleted and the server does not allow you to add printers.  is this be caused by some settings in windows server 2008 r2?  This happened twice, and the solution is to rub the print on the windows 2003 Server spooler and reinstall the printers from scratch.

  • Is it better to use Windows Server 2008 with or without Hyper-V?

There are two "families" of Windows Server 2008: with and without Hyper-V.

I need to install a new Windows Server 2008 (x 64) in a new server machine.  So I was wondering that I should choose.  With or without Hyper-V?  Because in the future, I might want to install VMWare Server 2.  If there is Hyper-V, would there be a conflict?

Use that WITH Hyper-V. Hyper-V is a role that you add after the installation. If you install one without, so you'll never have the ability to use Hyper-V on this machine, if you need. Please keep in mind that you cannot run virtual Hyper-V and VMware Server computers on the same host at the same time, as the previous poster said - you will see a pretty blue screen if you try
