  In XP, you can cleanup and optimize it in some way, by using the following tips:

  Search for malware:

  Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

  Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

When I came out, I came across a repair button.  Who find startup errors and fixed them.  I then rebooted and went into windows and was able to install.
