    When exactly the problem occur?

Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

    Step 1:

Test the issue in safe mode and check if the keyboard is blocked.

    Step 2:

If your computer very well in Safe Mode functions, you can put your system to boot and check if any third party or any service application is causing the problem and therefore the computer to freeze.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you can go ahead and disable or uninstall the same.

Once the system is in a clean boot state, check if the computer continues to block or not.

  • Pavilion p6610f Desktop Hard Drive will not be reset to zero when you restart

HP Pavilion p6610f than Desktop PC Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit HDD (I think) could not restart. There was no indication of a problem before me by clicking on the button restart. I have this sometimes just to clarify things, looks like things work better. When it restarted, it went to a screen with 2 choices 'launch start repair or load normally. I chose startup repair. He loaded some files & drivers but finally comes to the screen 'blue '. I tried to start the computer with all the 'F' keys, none worked, always came back to the blue screen. Tried to start the recovery discs I did, same thing. I started with the ERD that I did it. Same thing. Would not not even go to Safe Mode. Nothing. But, there is no prior problems. Nothing made me think that I should do something to deal with a disaster. Then a "friend of a friend" came and replaced the hard 'for free' drive and installed windows 8 (which I hate) and now the computer makes a ticking noise and a sound plaintive, as when there is a bad DVD in the drive, it work so now slow, freezes, takes internet forever and made so much noise I think it's going to explode. I think I should replace the hard drive with the "right" and then use my recovery disks. He said that windows 8 was just too big of an OS for the hard drive, it took, that is why it is slow. But couldn't I erase or reformat the hard disk, and then use my recovery disks. As it is, I have no HP software on the computer more.  Is there a way to get the data from my old hard drive? I'm willing to take the time to learn how to do all this by myself if I knew that this is possible and if it is useful? [edited font color and characters]

    Hello Ty965,

I understand that you fell on some hard drive problems and a friend of a friend installed a former player for you and since he turned slowly and noisily. Personally, I recommend that you buy a new hard drive and then review and follow the instructions on the HP Support document: performing a recovery of HP (Windows 7) system, which will guide you through the recovery process and get your computer back operational.

If you don't have the recovery discs for your computer you can buy them for a cheap price of HP Media software and the drivercommand.

I hope that I have addressed the issue to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

I recently sent my laptop to be fixed through the guarantee thanks to a 2-year extended service plan that expired recently after that she came back to me. When I noticed that my volume and wifi touch buttons have been blackened and not working and also my LCD display wouldn't go to sleep when I closed the top of the page despite all my settings to tell. I had to reinstall my display drivers and I have also flashed my BIOS, Insyde F.18. Everything worked fine, but no fixed... now when I restart my laptop, windows is going to close, it is spin the circle beside logging off... He will sit like that for an hour and does not restart because he can't get out of logging off windows process restart, so I am forced to stop by pressing the power button. Anyone know of any solution to the problem of sleep and restart the problem? Or have any suggestions I can try? Thanks, any help would be appreciated!

    Hi Teytey,

    Two ideas:

    Wrong program:

Looks like a program is blocked running and is not able to pay attention to the "cease and desist" message Stop message sending when you try to shut down the computer.

Computer keeps (Windows 7 or Vista)

When the programs will block this way, they are not working properly or in a State where they can be stopped by normal means.  They "cannot hear' instructions from the outside as they can be in a loop of the code that does not include an exit door, or a way to listen to instruction to stop going"round in circles.  This can be causes by stupid code or by errors in the file system.

What can you do?  You can take a look at what is currently running on the computer and to take preventive measures, i.e. control what is running on the computer and get rid of it, advance - before it's time for you to shut down the computer.

What program is causing the problem?  Unknown.  You will have to do some detective work.

    An hour before today:

You can also try to "back in time" when it was not the case.  This could be possible if the situation of error developed after you have installed the new software, after you have changed something important on the computer, or after updates have been applied by the system.  In all these cases, a Restore Point can have been created, in which case you can track a time 'before this date' and sometimes to recover your computer Setup and the ability to start and stop down, as expected.

    • Do NOT, DO NOT confuse restore with recovery.  Restoring is a set to a 'time before today. '
    • Recovery is a destructive wipe of data and a resinstall on your operating system.

    How to use Restore:

Before making any changes on your computer, you can ensure that you have a Restore Point.  If things go on the side, you can "go back".  It's the system restore.  Once you have enabled the restoration of the system, the computer will automatically restore Points before many program facilities.

You can also create a manually restore Point.

Be sure to only restore the Protection is enabled for the drive C:\

    AND

Control Panel > display icon > system > System Protection > create a Restore Point

    =================================================================

    Safe Mode system restore:

    • Turn off the laptop completely.
    • Restarting...  As soon as the laptop starts to boot,
    • Keep clicking on F8 until you enter the Windows Recovery Console
    • Find and select "Safe Mode" > enter

Once the system starts in Mode safe:

Start > search / type 'restore' > click to open "System Restore."

Select a Restore Point PRIOR to the point where the problem started and to restore.

Someone please help I was able to do this before, but can't do the job now?  Thank you.

    ACHOIWONG,
Well, it's system files to discover good good news.  Is probably why chkdsk does not work due to not having permission start upward.  Try to run it from an elevated command prompt:
Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
Right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
At the command prompt, type chkdsk c:/r

Try and let us know if it works.

  • Computer will not use the drive when you restart.

I have a Pavilion dv 9000 and had problems more and more lately (win explorer fails, application launcher fail, blue screens, crashes etc.).

I decided to use the recovery disk that was created at first boot. According to all the manuals that I found (on - and offline), it is just to put the recovery disk in the DVD-ROM and restart.

The problem is that nothing happens. The computer does not use the disk when it reboots.

Anyone experienced the same problem with the recovery disk?

I'm not having any other problems with the ROM, works perfektly once Windows is running.

    Thank you

You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • you leave app ' being used. will be deleted when you restart"

I had this problem for a while when I get out my application I can't really remove it without restarting the device. I get a message saying that the application is still in use, etc., etc. If I do not remove the application it to disappear from the device. However, if I try to load a new version of a .cod file it does not appear. I have to restart the Simulator whenever I want to test a new version. I should mention that if I shoot to the top of the order "request report" he does not like ongoing enforcement.

I thought it was normal behavior until I started working on another application. When I get out of this new application I can delete it, no questions asked! I then load my new .cod and it appears. I run it and fly along the new version.

I would like know what was the difference between these two applications. One which I can't remove is much more complex, much thread etc, so I wonder if there is something on a thread stops do not or something.

If someone could offer advice as to what could be wrong in my app "undeletable" it save me a lot of time!

  • Switches to color when you restart the computer profile or wakes from sleep

I bought a Dell Inspiron 1470 with Windows 7 at home as a backup of my MacBook Pro.  I used the Spyder2Express to calibrate my screen that works well.  After that I restarted my PC the color profile has been enabled for a few short seconds, but then returned to the default setting, which is horribly blue and too bright.

I then removed the color profile created by my Spyder2Express and used Windows' built in the calibration of the monitor.  Yet once, it worked until I rebooted the computer, or he woke from sleep mode.

I then wen to the control panel-->--> the color management advanced and assured the new profile is the default value of the system.  The problem still remained after the computer is restarted.

The only solution I have found so far is if after I restarted my pc I go to Panel of--> of color management and select and clear the checkbox "use my settings for this device."  My profile will then return until I restart the next time.

As a pro photographer, it is a question that is extremely disappointing.  I searched forums, web, called Dell directly and none of this was of no help.  Any thoughts?

    Hi Mike,.

It seems that software Spyder2Express adds color profile after each reboot. We can check if really Spyder2Express is the origin of the problem

    Method 1:

Uninstall Spyder 2 express and check if the return of the issue after each reboot.

    Method 2:

Configure the computer to boot and then refine the boot entry that is causing the problem

Step 1: Perform a clean boot:

Note If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.
    a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.
    b. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.
    c. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
    d. under the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)
    e. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
Note following this step lets Microsoft services continue to operate. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.
    f. click OK and then click on restart.

Step 2: Enable half the services

    a. click on the Services tab and then click to select the skin all the Microsoft services checkbox.
    b. Click to select half of the check boxes in the Service list.
    c. click OK and then click on restart.

    Solve the problem:
After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.

Reset the computer to start as usual:
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
    a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

All the steps above to perform the clean boot is mentioned in the following article
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Hope this helps,
    A Mir.
