  • Rise of Legends creates a file in the local/temp

    Hello

I installed a clean copy of Rise of Legends of the 4 original CD to my Windows 10 PC box. Every time when a test launch a new file is created in AppData/Local/Temp. Example of file name is icp7D54.tmp. My antivirus (Bitdefender IS) program blocks this tmp file every time because it's a possible malware, but my game does not work whenever this tmp file is blocked. When I stop the antivirus program or add the exception to the entire Temp folder, all right, but I don't want to disable antivirus whenever I want to play this game. The same question was Windows 7, so it is not bound to the version of Windows.

I was never aware of the games using the Temp files, so do not know what they would contain.

I guess things like that check points in some games, that do not go in the final save files,.

or things like player during a match online stats are kept in the Temp until the round ends?

The main reason for the VA to produce false positive is they just mark known virus, etc... They are also looking for

An example of false positives I've had a couple of times is using bugs noCD.

In this case, because of the way it works to bypass the CD verification, the noCD .exe is seen as a Trojan horse.

(Games all legitimate, but I never liked using the floppy disk, and run some disk go into endless loops.)

    - And now with the insinuation of 'Big Brother', who looked at him with Win10 and blocking that is subversive DRM installed to Win7/8/8.1 through 'Security' updates, noCD is more necessary that never, as the blocking of DRM only affects disk based games).

  • Birth of the nation gives error that E:\IML32.dll is eithernot designed to run on windows or it contains an error

Place of issue of the nation

I just rise from the pack or nation. When I try to install the game, or run the autorun, I get an error message that says E:\IML32.dll if the other is not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. I have window vista and accorss problems with older games running on this system. I installed Rise of nations Rise of legends fine without any problem. If you can please help solve me this problem. Thank you

Make sure that your Windows is fully updated.

Also try running it in compatibility mode:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If possible, try to install in the other PC and see if you get the same error or not? If it has the same error in different PC, that could be the problem with the CD/DVD.

  • Age of Empires III is compatible with windows 7

I looked at the site of windows compatibility, and he says AOE III is not compatible but he said AOE III Asian Dynasties and Rise of Rome are compatible. But you have to install AOE III first of all that the others are Add ons.

Someone saw if AOE III or other games RSG as Rise of Nations, Age of Mythology, Rise of Legends are compatible with Windows 7.

And where Devil can you buy these now? I can't find someone online. Would be great buy and download but I don't it anywhere to buy.

    cmschu,

information and where to get them, see http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/ and follow the links to those that you are interested in. AOE III seems to be available on Amazon for example.

Some of the games have demo versions available for download from the links and I already loaded 'Rise of Nations Thrones and Patriots' trial and that works OK on my netbook with W7 starter, for example.

Im confused by the list of compatibility for AOE III - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?l=en-us&type=Software&s=age%20of%20empires%20iii&os=32-bit - W7 seems depends on what version you have.

  • Age of Empires 3 does not start on a vista machine, get this error "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires III\d3dx9_25.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error."

I'm trying to play age of Empires 3 on my computer running windows vista Home premium and the program does not start. I get the error message: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires III\d3dx9_25.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error." I tried many suggestions from Microsoft (resettlement program, reinstall in safe mode, update & reinstall the drivers for my video card, the compatibility issues with vista, updating and reinstalling directx 9.0 c, install vista service packs 1 & 2) but nothing has worked so far. I was able to play the game on the same computer with windows xp installed (it's a different hard drive that is not in the computer, and everything is the same) and it worked fine. My computer is old enough, but like I said the game worked before installing vista. ASUS A7N8x deluxe, AMD Athlon xp 3200 +, ATI radeon 9600, 2 GB OCZ ram that all suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

    Hi Raygun55,

Welcome to Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

This problem may occur if the Microsoft DirectX file that is mentioned in the error message is damaged or is not copied correctly.

I suggest that you copy the file manually by following the steps and check if you are able to play the game without any problems:

    Manually copy the file

To do this on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps:

1 insert the disc 1 CD for one of the following games into the player from the computer:

    o Age of Empires III

    o Fable: The Lost Chapters

    o Zoo Tycoon 2

o Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends

    2. click on start to reduce this includes this image and then click Documents.

    3. Locate, and then click computer.

    4. search and then click on the CD drive.

    5. Locate and then click the following folder:

    CD player :\ DirectX9

Note In this folder path, the CD player represents the drive letter of the CD drive.

6 double-click on Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x86.cab, right click on d3dx9_25.dlland then click copy.

In Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, double click Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x64.cab right-click d3dx9_27.dlland then click copy.

Note Use the Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x64.cab file for the x 64 version of the Windows operating system.

    7. find one or more of the following folders, depending on the games that are installed on the computer:

By car : \Program Files\Microsoft: Age of Empires III

    By car : \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters

    By car : \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2

    By car : \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Rise of legends

Note In these folder paths, drive represents the letter of the drive where the game is installed.

    8. right click on the folder of the game which is the part that is installed on the computer, and then click Paste.

Note If you have installed more than one game on the computer, repeat steps 5 and 6 for the other games.

You can check the link for more information: error message when you try to start a Microsoft game: "the file d3dx9_XX. DLL was not found": http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910813

Alternatively, you can try to install the game in XP compatibility mode and check if you are able to play or not.

Right-click on the game > click Properties > click on the Compatibility tab > select for XP compatibility mode > click OK.

Let me know if it worked.

  • game will not be resolved in full screen.

am running windows Vista and had an old version of scrabble.   All of a sudden it will not maximize the full screen.   You press on maximizing and there still about 1.5 inches on all sides.   I played with all the properties, screen resolutions, but I can't get it to work.   I bought a new Scrabble updated and it's doing the same thing. All other games seem to be good.    It is much too small for my mother who plays to see.

  • How to install Age Of Empires III on a Windows Vista or 7?

I bought Age of Empires III (without extensions, only the original) a few years ago and it worked well on my Windows XP operating system.  I now have a Windows Vista computer and another that runs on Windows 7, and AOEIII installs correctly on either.  On the Vista computer, I get an error message saying the game has known compatibility issues, but there is no solutions when I click on the button "find solutions online.  I choose to install the program even when and installation runs without any problems, but after a few minutes, an error message appears saying that there is an error in opening a specific file and I need to check that the file exists.  I click try again, but the message continues to appear every few minutes.  I tried many solutions online, including the execution of the program in different modes of compatibility and running it as an administrator.  I downloaded a patch for the game, but when I double click on the patch to fix the game, another error message appears saying that there is a problem with my installation.  I checked many sources who say the game is fully compatiable on Windows Vista and 7, but of course, it does not work for me.

    Hi blakesk8dgk,

    ·         What is the exact error message you get?

Check first if Age of Empire III is compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7 in Windows 7 or Windows Vista Compatibility Center:

    Windows 7 Compatibility Center

    Windows Vista Compatibility Center

    Step 1:

Take a look at the link to the following article:

Error messages when you try to install Age of Empires III or Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends: "Error 1935" or "Error 1904".

    Step 2:

If the game is not compatible, then try to install in compatibility mode and check if it helps:

Windows Vista - Make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows

Run Windows 7 - make older programs in this version of Windows

    I hope this helps.
