Whenever I go to a new page, Firefox saves

So, whenever I open a new page, Firefox saves in thumbnails when I open a new tab. How can I stop this? It gets really annoying.

It is normal for Firefox create thumbnails of pages in your history, but generally the new tab page is filled with very visited sites and shows rarely new sites, so it's weird to see them appear immediately (unless you clear your history frequently).

You want to change what shows in a new tab? There is a hidden for this parameter:

(1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

(2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

(3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:

  • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
  • Blank tab = > subject: empty
  • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
  • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?

  • I installed the 9.01 update. Whenever I open firefox search addons updates it and opens the what's NEW page.

When I tried to open firefox it always opens the what's NEW page.

Maybe that's a problem with the prefs.js file as explained here:

  • When opening, firefox always checks if my extensions work in verision again and show me what's new page.

As the title suggests, whenever I start Firefox, he thinks that the update is new. Check extensions and show what's new page.

Have you tried to delete the file prefs.js and user.js file possible?

It is also possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

Delete the files (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

If you see disabled extensions, is not compatible, in "tools > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button, on the left side of the search bar (or click on the"Find updates"button in older versions of Firefox) to check if there is an available update compatibility.

  • whenever a new page is opened, the sidebar of history is too, showing all the sites I had visited

Whenever a new page is opened, the sidebar of history is too, showing all the sites I had visited. My version of Firefox is updated 6.0.2 and I am on Windows 7.

    You are welcome.

Firefox sometimes automatically recovers from these problems once a few reboots or you can open another window.

  • If I have a small Firefox page I can not open a NEW page. He let me just open a new tab on the reduced page

If I have a small Firefox page I can not open a NEW page. He let me just open a new tab on the reduced page. I used to be able to open a new page in browser icon on my desktop, but for these last days, it won't let me. It is a desktop computer, running Windows 7. Everything is up-to-date.

Hi Deb, it's hard for me to test it personally because I've pinned the shortcut of Firefox to the taskbar, which changes its behavior, and when I remove it, I don't fit my desktop icon. (?!)

Anyway, as a temporary workaround solution while we sort out this point, you can use the 'Skip' list: right click on the Firefox icon in the task bar and choose 'Open a new fenΩtre' that should certainly generate a separate window and not only a new tab in the existing window. Normally works?

Firefox has a hidden setting that you might try to change to see if it makes a difference. Normally, when you open a link in another program, it opens in a new tab in the last window of Firefox, that you used. Your what's doing? I propose changing the setting so that the link must open in a new window to see if it has an impact on this problem.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste link.o and make a pause so that the list is filtered.

    (3) double-click the preference browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external and set its value to 2 and click OK.

The possible values for this preference are as follows:

-1 = follow your settings in the Options for new tabs vs new windows (default)
3 = open external links in a new tab in the last active window
2 = open external links in a new window
1 = open external links in the last active tab replaces the current page

There are a few other similar named preferences, so be sure to change one that has 'external' in the name.

    Any difference?

  • Firefox keeps blocking my Web page of the evolution towards a new page - I don't want to do that. How to I stock blocks?

When you are working in several different programs (Auctiva is one) I get a message that Firefox blocked my attempt of Web pages to direct me to a new page. Sometimes I can click on allow, but sometimes the message went so fast, I no. Option. In most cases, this page switch is necessary for what I do to reach - in Auctivia my profile don't post to eBay for hours if he can't move pages. How can I stop Firefox to block these switches page. It happens more and more. I got everything I can think of in circles, but nothing helped.

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise! to keep the comments: config page.
    3. copy (from here), accessibility.blockautorefresh and paste it into the search field
    4. Now you have the preference and value, if it's wrong, it's OK, if not double click above to make false
    5. out the words: config page, exit firefox and restart.

do the same with network.http.prompt - temp-redirect , note we want true value in this one.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Please see this.

  • Firefox opens a new page 2/3 at the top of page one another which I can't close

When I open firefox opens a page yesterday with a new page that covers the two left third of the page and the old page is still one third on the following tabs on the left

Opening in the sidebar is the default value for the bookmarks created via a link or a button on a Web site.

You can view the properties of a bookmark using the context menu in the side bar (Ctrl + B; Cmd + B on Mac).

In the Bookmark Manager (Bookmarks > show all bookmarks) you can click on the button more in the lower details pane on the right.

Make sure "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is not selected.

Each page is a zoomed out, and if I Zoom it, it is a normal size for a while, but when I close firefox and open it again, it has zoom out again, I have to zoom each page everytime I open a new page.

    How to use Zoom?

The function Zoom of Page Firefox does a level of field by field to save favorite settings level users zoom, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox. Try these extensions:

    -> Default FullZoom Level 4.5

    -> NoSquint 2.1.2

Check and tell if its working.

  • InDesign crashes whenever I try to insert a new page.

Whenever I try to insert a new page or spread in my document is the Rainbow death spinning beach ball and I am forced to shut down the program. The interesting part is that it is just a particular document, I tried with others, but it doesn't seem to affect the program if I insert new pages.

  • Yahoo Search bar now appears on my new tabs Firefox pages

Before you answer that, I ALREADY deleted the Yahoo option toolbar already in TOOLS > OPTIONS > SEARCH box. In both upper search bar, I removed all evidence of Yahoo. Is not on this part. This is the new page/new tab coming with my 'top sites' mosaic. He changed a few days ago and I don't know why. I don't think THAT I have updated to any software, but if I did, it would have been Adobe Flash or Adobe Acrobat/Reader. When the search bar appears on the tiles, now it is YAHOO. I hate Yahoo and use Opera or Chrome, if I can't solve this problem. Someone help me find an answer. I refuse to be forced to use a search engine that does not support.

Thank you... In fact, I had an another "fix"... my computer crashed, so I had to get a new hard drive, etc. What I've been able to find out, however, even if all the settings that you have in your answer were what I had been doing before I posted, I discovered that a program to rip the DVD I bought recently had all these toolbars wicked as automatic installation with the express install option. I found those today and not controlled before screwing the system. It's a real shame when people stir this crap in the paid software programs and make sure you can not escape or uninstall them.
