whenever I log out of my laptop computer installs updates help please

I have Windows VISTA, whenever I disconnect I to waite while are installed updates etc. 1-4 or 1-7, its only do this recently help please

This happens when the automatic updates downloaded updates, but not all updates to date you have requested or for automatic download.

So we need to know why this is happening every time, most likely because updates have downloaded have not managed to install and that's why stop you of updates install at shutdown.

  1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
  2. In the left pane, click view update history.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/see-which-Windows-updates-are-installed
  3. Find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information.
Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update.
  4. In the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.
  5. Follow the links in the Windows Update dialog box under more information or help and Support to resolve the problem, then try to reinstall updates by using Windows Update in Control Panel or by mail with the error code and maybe someone may be able to help others.

    Hello

In addition to what Shawn said, there should be a key you can hit while the manufacturer of your computer display... before starting windows... To RESET or RESTORE factory.

More pre-installed machines have a key such as F12 or something to do.

My HP laptop for example, forces me to hit ESC. It will then display a menu of different options.

  • Basket empty automatically whenever I log out. How can I stop this so that I can empty it when I want to?

When I delete the files they go in the trash and will stay there until I log out and switch on the computer.
When I turn it back on and open a session in the basket is still empty.
I can't find any settings to change that.
    Can someone advise?

    Hi Jack,

Windows Vista does not clear the trash automatically on closing of session/reboots. This must be due to a third-party program (CCleaner / Zone Alarm clear function Cache) you have installed. You may need to consider starting applications and find which of them is the compensation the basket every time.

    Hello Ann,.

If it is a laptop computer, shut down Windows and remove the battery and the power supply of the PC.

Wait a few minutes, and then reconnect the battery and start Windows.

Plugin your device to see if it works, without the hub.

  • laptop HP Clubhouse 15: help please!

My laptop goes down as I watched the YouTube video and I restarted and it started the repair of automatic recovery but it loads the screen and then goes to a black screen.then I turn it off and press f11 for recovery of the system and load it if please wait then goes to a black screen and never loads up the system recovery help please!

Fail short, DST = disk hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

  • Windows wants to install 6 updates every time that I log out or put the computer in mode "Eve"

I can't stop or have food options on.  I expect the updates to install.  It is said that they have installed and the next time I start there they are.

    Hi Happygrammy,

Welcome to the Windows Vista answers Forum!

This could happen if the update that you are trying to install are damaged during the process. To prevent this all the time you need to maybe uninstall the updates, and install them one at a time.

To do this, you will need to make a list updates that are the cause of the problem, then go to install update history and uninstall them manually. Then download these updates and install them in clean boot mode.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Steps to put the system in clean boot include:

1 log on to the computer using an account with administrator rights

    2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all

Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use with existing restore points system restore utility

For more information about the clean boot, follow the below given link:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    3. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart

You will need to maybe reset the Windows Update components, download the Microsoft fix - it from the link and run the wizard that automatically resets the windows update components, if it does not, I recommend that reset you manually update windows components from the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

These steps should solve the problem, give it a try and check if you are able to perform windows updates.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • My email resets whenever I log out.

He has not left in my Inbox of old emails and folders that I created and save e-mails have disappeared. I have reset all settings several times, but every time that I reboot it comes back without any of the saved changes. Any ideas?

What you describe is typical of some anti-malware programs that block change in the registry.  Spyware search and destroy is one of them.  If you have "real time" protection enabled with any anti-malware software product then remove it.  Then see if the registry changes stick.  Just try adding your comcast account and getting mail and then close WinMail, and then reopen it and see if the settings are still there.

In addition, you can go to tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced and set each computer accessing the account to leave a copy of messages on the server, so a machine is not destroyed during the archiving of mail.

    Hi, Robert Allen,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forum.

According to the description, you have a user facing problems with multiple pop accounts and rdp credentials when the connection / disconnection of a domain.

Since the problem is associated with multiple pop accounts and rdp credentials when the connection / disconnection of a domain, the question you posted would be better suited for the IT Pro on TechNet public. I would recommend posting your query in the TechNet Forums to get help:

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6070ee: lost all preinstalled on my laptop Pavilion DV6-6070ee help please

    Hello

I own a HP Pavilion dv6 - 6070ee notebook pc, serial number: product number [personal information deleted],: LL059EA #ABV.

Long story short, I had problems with the hard drive came with my laptop, so I had to switch to an SSD, but, unfortunately, I could not clone the hard drive to my new SSD because the hard drive was really damaged, so I had to install a new genuine copy of windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, which was originally on the laptop when I bought it.

The problem is, I've lost all the software initially provided with the original hard drive and now I don't even have a recovery partition. In addition, the sound does not work, the camera does not work the microphone and the reader of fingerprints and many other things. Please help im really really desperate, if only I can download a recovery partition so my phone would go back to normal thank you very much.

PS: beats audio also comes with the laptop.

    Thank you

Sorry, but it becomes increasingly difficult to find the recovery media for older PCs, because the places are running out of stock.

All you can really do at this point is go to this page and download and install the HP drivers for devices that do not work correctly: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv6-6000-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/5048664/model/5062485

  • Laptop crashes! Need help please

This week my 4 year old laptop hp pavalion dv6 laptop started crashing. Then I started trying to find the problem and fix it.

First, I checked my drive c on the mistakes and done a Defrag. My computer has no problems with these tasks.

Secondly, I checked my computer on virus. I used malwarebytes and avast to scan my pc. Here, too, there where no problems found.

Finally, I formatted my pc and reinstalled windows 7 again. It was a little difficult because it kept crashing, but after some time I managed to pull it off. Now, my pc works fine but on the strangest moments, it crashes. For example when I do nothing and wait for 2 minutes, it crashes. But if I continue to work on it without running all heavy and just programs using the internet it does not crash for at least an hour or more.

When my pc it blocks just gives a black screen and numlock/shiftlock lights are flashing. Also downstairs there is an orange light flashing hard drive logo.

After a reboot hard, I can use my pc again and it's as if nothing happened.

I am engineering student in the last year and I need my pc to school daily.

Please can someone help me to try to solve this problem?

If these are your time I'm scared, I agree; It's look like a motherboard problem; for example the GPU.
