Where is arial narrow?

Hello.

Arial Narrow is installed in Windows 7, but I do not see it in InDesign CS6. Why?

It has been discussed already, perhaps you will find these discussions helpful:

  • Arial Narrow font is missing!

    I have Windows 7 Professional that has been installed at the factory on a Dell laptop I bought end of November 2009.  The following Arial fonts are installed:

    1. Arial Black
    2. Arial Bold
    3. Arial Bold Italic
    4. Arial Italic
    5. Arial Regular

    I have software that awaits Arial Narrow, which is obviously not in the above list.  Arial Narrow is not automatically installed as part of Windows 7?

    I have / see Arial Narrow on another PC equipped with Windows XP Professional installed.  And I have / see Arial Narrow on another PC which has Windows Vista Business installed.  Arial Narrow installed in these earlier versions of Windows?  Or, is Arial Narrow installed as part of another application like Microsoft Office which resides on these 2 PC, but not on the Windows 7 PC?

    Thanks for any help or insight someone might provide.

    FYI, when I opened C:\Windows\Fonts in Solution Explorer, I see Arial.  When I double click on it, I get a window of details font family:

    Right click > properties on the Arial Narrow window above performance police:

    What I don't know, is whether an application I have installed has the ARIALN. TTF file with it.  I don't have a fee, out of the box Windows 7 system to watch right now.

  • InDesign CS6 and Arial Narrow

    I have been with CS5, had problems with the Arial Narrow font not appear as four variations but only one and finally got it solved somehow so that I had a font distinct, listed as Arial Narrow in the name of the font drop-down list and four variants listed in the other drop-down list (all separate from the font Arial with its four variations). I know I deleted the AdobeFnt*.lst files. I know that I tried the fix that I found a lot of Google research, but he said that it didn't apply to my system. In addition, I do not know what fixed the problem and I remember wanted a lot of trial and error, but finally I solved it.

    A few days ago I installed CS6 on my system for the first time, and now I got the same problem again. I have spent all afternoon trying to solve, but without success.

    I have three sets of files TTF for Arial Narrow, each set of four files for normal, bold, italic, and bold italic. A game version 2.20, a version 2.37 and the other is the version 2.40. My system is running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

    Does anyone have an idea of what this problem will be solved on my system? I have a lot of InDesign documents that use Arial Narrow, so now when I open one of them, I have a lot of lack of references to the police. If I could get properly reinstalled Arial Narrow once more, they would all disappear.

    Thank you!

    Dan - BTP says:

    I'm sorry I do not clearly appear on the versions of the police. I have these three versions in a personal folder, but I have only one version installed at the same time. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, police using older versions, once again only one version installed at the same time, but without success.

    There is a very old thread on this somewhere, but the solution was to copy the fonts to a machine running XP/Office 2000, if I remember.

  • Arial Narrow font is missing in Adobe InDesign CS4

    There is a fix for the problem with Office 2007 and the Arial font is for Office 2003, we have SP3 & have 4 of our graphic computers updated CS4, all 3 are OK but 1 has a problem with Arial fonts & says are missing, but are located in the folder fonts?  True type fonts is O.K.

    Jadyry,
    Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forums.  I suggest that you copy the police since a working PC and replace it on the PC problem.  See if that clears it.  This only happens with CS4, or you have a problem with that font in other programs?  If it happens only in CS4 you can remove\reinstall it.

  • How to search for and remove text in the Arial Narrow font?

    Hello

    I wonder if someone can help me with a problem.

    I have a great CS5 ID doc (Win 7) that has thousands of lines in the following format:

    Example: reach, reach to yari togemasu (togeru)

    In each line the first, or the words is in English all formatted in Arial Black. then, there is a space followed by words in a foreign language (in the Japanese case). These words are all in Arial condensed format.

    I would like to be able to delete all the words automatically formatted in Arial condensed (Japanese words).

    There should be a way to do that in FIND/REPLACE, but I don't see an option to find words in a specific font and then delete them.

    Can anyone suggest how this can be done automatically, so I can't do the manual removal?

    Thanks in advance for any help that anyone may be able to offer.

    Jane.

    What version of InDesign are you using?

    If you go to find the change

    Then let empty 'Search' and ' change to ' white

    Go to the 'FindForma' t and insert the font that you want to change

    Do not fill in 'Change of Format'

  • Arial fonts in PDFs former problems!  {Inside photos}

    Hi all.

    This is the problem as much as I can explain it!

    I have pdf files that were created on a Mac origanally (I use Win 7) using the Arial Narrow font family.  I read all of the posted questions

    the policy of Arial Narrow problems, but none solved the problem.  Here are the screenshots of what, in my view, could be the cause.

    When I look at the properties in Acrobat for the PDF in question, here's what fonts appear.

    props.jpg

    The only font that correctly displays is true font type Arial Black.  Type1 ArialNarrow views

    as shown in the image below. Another thing to note: notice how ArialNarrow is one word?

    Is this perhaps why Illustrator is having a problem with it?  I tried to find it with no luck.

    When opened in Illustrator CS2, it is what is displayed.

    127.jpg

    The fonts are in my repertoire of fonts in Windows and Illustrator.  I even loaded the old 2.35

    a version which is mentioned on the net.

    The problem is that I have hunderds these documents some with more than 200 pages each.  I messed up

    with this for several days now and I am at a loss of what to do next.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Mark

    Substitution of fonts in Illustrator by using Type > find font is not going to work.

    If you look at the screenshots, you will see that the fonts are CID fonts with custom coding. The fonts on the computer of brands have probably ANSI encoding (for example standard Western character set) and character cards will not match. So you will not get text legible but just squares or other things (diamonds, points etc.)

    Mark sent me a file to look at and here's what I wrote in direct e-mail to him.

    The problem is that the PDF was made directly from InDesign, which converts the fonts fonts CID (normally used for Asian fonts such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean) and, in so doing, he created a table of characters (encoding) that is not compatible with our ordinary fonts that use the character of Western (ANSI) encoding. Which explains why the replacement police incorporated by one on your system does not work.

    There is some info on the Adobe website at the following links:
    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/329/329611.html
    http://InDesignSecrets.com/CID-identity-h-fonts-are-back.php
    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/324995

    Also, the problem of the CID character exists in Acrobat 7 and 8, but got solved in Acrobat 9.

    The only thing that has worked to get a PDF with readable and editable text was to use an OCR program (Abby FineReader in my case, but Omnipage can do the same thing) to process the PDF and embedded fonts are basically OCR'ed use system fonts and then resave PDFs had basically the same effect that replace the embedded fonts to system fonts. After that opening the PDF file in Illustrator has normal text and the file can be changed. Although Serif DrawPlus does a better job by opening the PDF file in editable format.

    In this case, the road of the OCR is an option because the PDF contained a table. If this had been a drawing that the OCR option can be less useful depending on how the OCR software manage the drawing part, unless you get the text on the PDF and reinsert it into the drawing would be sufficient.

    The above information may be of some use to those who are faced with the same problem.

  • More "BOLD" Arial Black font is not available

    After the upgrade to windows XP with SP3 (Service Pack) the message [font 'Arial Black bold' is not available. "Arial Black Heavy" will be used in this session.] is generated whenever the file is opened. It is a problem because I have several hundred files that use the Arial Black style in bold. This problem is widespread, no matter what either FM (5.5, 7.0 or 8.0) versions I use. However if I Uninstall SP3 the problem disappears. I also tried the FM files on 2 separate computers, one with and one without SP3. leading to the same result.

    What makes the font conversion occur and why is associated with SP3? Y at - it a fix for this problem?

    -The police who is targeted is family-Arial Black with weight - in bold. —

    A few google search with subjects "winxp sp3" "arial bold" revealed that MS did make a change in the way that Arial Narrow black named and are used, which results in sudden changes to bold or italic, or black faces in many applications. also associated with Office 2007.

    I'm not sure of the ramifications in FM (I do not use SP3) but it seems that there is a MS Hotfix for the problem.

    As always, Please, please make sure to save your files FM before trying these fixes!

  • Equivalent fonts in AFP?

    Hi experts,

    I have a list of fonts to AFP. I don't know the fonts windows equivalent for them.

    It is possible to identify the corresponding fonts using the name?
    I fonts like ' X0DAALN8. FNT ',' X0DAALNA. FNT ',' X0DAALNB. FNT', etc...

    Post your thoughts/ideas to identify fonts.
    Thanks in advance!

    Fonts shipped with Documaker use a naming convention where the 3rd and 4th letters indicate the font family.

    AB = Albany
    AL = Arial Black
    A = Arial Narrow
    CO = Courier
    DD = DocuDings
    DM = Data Matrix
    UC = condensed universe
    LG = Gothic letter
    MI = MICR
    TI = Times (novel)
    OA = OCRA
    UN = universe (al)
    OB = OCRB
    ZP = ZIP code

    I believe you can find this information in the Documaker Administrator's Guide.

  • ugly pdf

    For some reason any when I do a .pdf of my Framemaker 9 document, some stuff doesn't come out right.  For example, any place where I used an Arial Narrow font, it looks like Times New Roman in the pdf file.  If I use the Arial font, it looks good in the pdf, but in order to get the effect of the Arial Narrow in the pdf, I use Arial with the stretch value 90% in my framework document.

    And also, some colors do not look very good in the pdf.  In the framework document, they look like I want it to do, but when I do the pdf, they find themselves looking for a little muddier.

    What's up with that?

    When using FM9 and save to PDF, make sure that 'Convert CMYK colors to RGB' is turned on. If this check box is disabled, various problems may be encountered, including issues related to fonts.

    [If this solves your problem of fonts and the colors aren't always what you expect them to be, there is a setting in the maker.ini which can help]

  • Recovery gone HD and Bootcamp starts rained after the Mac HD reduction in disk utility

    With the help of El Capitan, mid-2012 17 "Unibody Macbook Pro Non-retine

    Hi, I am trying to disable SIP with csrutil but I can't use this method in the recovery mode. Why? I had a problem where I have narrowed my Macintosh HD partition in disk utility and now my Bootcamp partition became start older (data still there).

    I was going to fix the partition table that caused problems with the boot, but when I loaded the Recovery Mode the thing wouldn't start and cling to a completed loading bar (with the apple logo, it took a lot of time to get the bar too full).

    So, I deleted the recovery partition HD and reinstalled OSX to retrieve. Problem is, he does not come back. Right now I have 4 partitions - disk0s1 is EFI disk0s2 is Macintosh HD disk0s3 is Untitled (free space), disk0s4's Bootcamp.

    Is it possible to UN-mess-up my hard drive without losing data? Sorry!

    The way is to not lose data have a current backup plan in place.  How to create a clone of startup

    SIP is the Protection of the integrity of the system and is a security featutre is not supposed to be cancelled esp of the 'system' you are primed to which would frustrate the object, so it must be done in an another boot drive - in your case.

    Your best bet is maybe to start int Internet recovery - this is done by now the keys option command R to reboot.  And go from there.

  • How can I change the default font of Sticky Notes?

    I want to change the default font of Sticky Notes in Windows 7. As said in the previous thread, I can copy from other software to get it. Point is that when I restart the application or the operating system that it returns in Segoe Print again. Sometimes it is not displayed as Segoe Print at all (especially mixed with other languages). I searched the Internet, told to remove the police to get the modish, he will risk the stability of the BONE or something? What can I do to set up another police? I've heard it can be changed in Windows Vista, is it true? Is there a patch to add or difficulty that is then? Or which will be added in Windows 8?

    You can solve this problem by editing the registry a little more. It's pretty easy.
    1. go to the registry: start-> run-> regedit
    2. go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts
    3 right-click the font that you want to change, and then type the name (the name of the file) of the font you want with the following. (For sticky notes, edit Segoe Print and Segoe Print "BOLD". For example, arialn.ttf and arialnb.ttf for Arial Narrow)
    Reboot your computer, and you should be good to go.
