Win7 Ultimate not use or need conhost?

Hello

Yes, the Conhost.exe file is needed under Windows 7.

It was included in Windows 7 to fix a few problems that appeared in Windows XP and Windows Vista.

You can see a good explanation of these issues and the reason why the conhost.exe is necessary in the following article.

What is conhost.exe and why is it running? :

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/4996/what-is-conhost.exe-and-why-is-it-running/

If you are sure that the Conhost.exe does not appear in the folder System32, perform the following test.

1. click Start and type cmd.exe in the area of Research .

2. in the results, right-click the Cmd.exe file and select run as administrator . This will open a command prompt window.

3. leave open window command prompt. Right-click in the taskbar and select Task Manager.

4. in Task Manager, click Show processes from all users at the bottom of the window.

5. make sure that the process tab is selected, and check if you can find one instance of the Conhost.exe file in the Image name column.

Let us know the results.

Nice try at a recovery of Mr. Smithers, but a clear reading of the issue and a quick answer, that's what is needed.  I always run virusware and malware.

From what I've determined, conhost.exe does not (or should not) be on a Vista system. And, if you read my question, it is not on my system, only in my msconfig file, so I just disabled this line.

  • How to disable the console (conhost.exe) host

For Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 whenever you open a console program, the system opens another process called conhost.exe, to apply windows themes and activate the drag & drop feature in this console window.
As much as I themes disabled, that I never use drag & drop in the console windows (I promise you :)), which each of this process takes at least 2 MB of RAM and, more importantly, according to sysinternals process explore each conhost.exe process has more than 2500-3000 switches context per second (thus reducing the performance of the entire system) I would like to restore the old behavior of windows Vista/2008 and completely disable the conhost.exe.
    Any ideas?

  • __And C://Windows/system32/Services.exe hacks C://Windows/system32/conhost.exe

Record unauthorized access, after running Norton scan, I thought I have check the history would see what he had done recently
    and I noticed that
    C://Windows/system32/conhost.exe
    C://Windows/system32/services.exe
Be the medium threat for "unauthorized access logged data.

I was wondering what were these since the Conhost (which does not resemble a good name) appears more than once in the same thing.

Is that a threat or not? I know that Norton detects a lot of things unnceisary and why it would just log the problem and not do something if it was a threat.

    Answers appreciated muchly

    * edit *.
Im not sure if I did, it's clear there was no threat in the scan (other than cookies) not detected that came from the history of safety.

Virus and malware usually do their best to hide behind innocent names. You would never find a virus with a name such as "virus.exe", for obvious reasons. So, it is quite reasonable to assume that 'conhost' does not relate to a con-job. As far as I know, it is called by the shell, and the "con" refers to the "Console".

  • Even if the PC is slowed, conhost.exe starts on 5 times in the Task Manager.

    Process of OT:Running.

I noticed that when my PC is idle, conhost.exe starts on 5 times in Manager tasks. This opens also cmd.exe and taskeng.exe with it so when I close conhost.exe, the other 2 farm as well. Norton EAST, Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Scanner grew nothing and even when processes are running, it does not affect the performance of my PC. So I am looking far a virus/malware and to some kind of error. Any suggestions?

I would be guessing that when your computer is 'idle', you have open command (cmd.exe) prompt.

  • Conhost.exe no description

    Hello

Recently, I've been checking my task manager, when I noticed a process, called conhost.exe (which is a valid windows process) has been added in the process, but when I looked forward in it, there was no description, or I would like to open the location of the file, properties, or even close. (access is denied)
I checked with the malicious file from microsoft Aug-2013 proposed removal tool, but it has not found anything.
I'm a little worried about that it can not be closed, but when I opened the 'run' conhost.exe he desc and is resealable.
Please answer soon as im quite worried :)

The conhost.exe process sitting in the middle between CSRSS and cmd.exe allows Windows 7 to fix both problems in previous versions of Windows. I suggest you to see the following link for more information.

    Where is hsodbc.exe on 10g 64 bit!

    DB: Oracle 10g release 2

    OS: Windows server 64-bit

    Hello

HSODBC has never been available on Windows 64-bit platforms.  In any case, HSODBC was desupported since 2008.
The alternative is to use the 11g database for ODBC (DG4ODBC) bridge that must be installed in a completely separate ORACLE_HOME for the installation of 10.2 and then access it from the RDBMS 10.2 using the links in the database.

If you have access to My Oracle Support, take a look at this note-

How to set up DG4ODBC (gateway for ODBC Oracle database) on 64-bit Windows operating systems to connect to Oracle databases Post Install (Doc ID 1266572.1)

For 64-bit Windows, the latest version is available from My Oracle Support - 11.2.0.4

    -Connect to My Oracle Support

    -Click on "patches and updates".

    -search for patch number 13390677

-You may need to press the '+' to see the list of platform

-Scroll down and click on Windows 64-bit

-on the next screen, click on the option 'download '.

-the list of download files to choose-

    p13390677_112040_platform_5of7.zip

-C' is the Gateway media pack and has everything necessary for a stand-alone gateway installation.

-Unzip the file and run the Setup program and choose the gateway that you want.

11.2 gateways are certified 10.2.0.4 and 10.2.0.5 RDBMS.

  • Where is oscdimg.exe

I need to download this file so that I can make a bootable copy of Win 7. Thank you.

    1. you will need to use additional Microsoft command-line tool, called Oscdimg.
    Details here
    Download here

Download the .zip file and extract it. Then cut and paste the Oscdimg.exe file in your C:\Windows\System32 directory

    2. you now have your command prompt, which can be done by Start-> Run then type 'cmd' in the boot prompt.

    3. you should now have the open command prompt, now, you must use the Oscdimg tool to create the image by entering the following text:
       Oscdimg.exe - u2 - bC:------ \expandedSetup\boot\etfsboot.com C:\ h \expandedSetup C:\ \Win7.iso

    For example: C:\ h Oscdimg.exe-u2-bC:\Users\James\Downloads\expandedSetup\boot\etfsboot.com Users\James\Downloads \expandedSetup C:\ Users\James\Downloads \Win7.iso

It will now scan the source tree and then start the creation of the image. PLEASE NOTE: you must replace ' ' free will as to where you downloaded the files.

    4. you should now have an image file called Win7.iso, in the same directory.

PowerISO (You need not the paid version to burn the image)

  • IE 8 will not recognize Flash Player 10, but Firefox doesn't work + where is FP.exe?

Am running 32 bit Win XP Pro/SP3, 6.01 Firefox, IE 8 and Flash Player 10.3.  Have P4 CPU, 1 GB of RAM and tons of disk space.

Problems with Firefox - evry crashes a few minutes.  Uninstalled and reinstalled plant yet. Using IE 8 until I can solve the problems of Mozilla.  IE 8 says I do not have Flash Player and offers a link to get it.  Main use of FP is powered streaming radio, usually in Firefox.

1.) installation is browser-specific Flash Player that is used?  (PS installed since FF.)  If so, is there a way to get the FP to function for two browsers?  If not, why IE 8 does not recognize FP 10?  All the settings for Internet Explorer are if necessary for the public Service.

(2.) where is FP executable on my hard drive?  Found Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash, but only exe files are there to uninstall FP.  Want a FP shortcut on my desktop.

Would appreicate any anyone may have clues.  Thank you!

Yes, you can absolutely have two versions of the Flash Player installed at the same time.

  • What is conhost?

I found conhost try to attack the Norton product. It said its share of windows can someone tell me what it is

    Hello

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?

2 has there been any changes made on the computer before the show?

    Method 1:

I suggest refer you to the article for the process conhost.exe.

    Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2: Console host

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2009/10/05/Windows-7-Windows-Server-2008-R2-Console-host.aspx

    Method 2:

Try to run Microsoft Safety Scanner for any malware or spyware infection and check if it helps.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • Why are there seven of the process called "conhost" running?

I've seen other questions like this, but each answer or solution that they give to the user just won't work for me. My problem is that in "Task Manager" under the "Processes" tab there are about seven of the process 'conhost.exe' running, and when I click 'End process' to each other, they reappear in less then a minute. Another process that is open is "taskhost.exe" and there are about four of them running. In this photo that I took, I would like to know why everything I put in a box is running. He also says that Notepad is open when it isn't. Every detail is that it is still open even when I restart my computer.

The picture is not very clear, and the Description list should be expanded to read the full text,

But what I can make out...

    - cmd.exe - would be Windows command prompt, which looks like you've opened twice (or maybe are

in the process of running in the background?).

    - conhost.exe - Console window host (which is what you'll see with the extended Description) has to do with the console Windows (command prompt). It is a "fix" to the command line that allows to cut and paste.

If two of them would have to do with the open cmd prompt.

If you R / click each entry and select open file location it brings you to the System 32 file.

-Re - open after you finish the task it is dependence and interaction of other processes.

-If the machine is on a network, the other conhost.exe can reflect what's open on these machines.

-Some Services also to open up other instances of conhost.exe.

-However, it's the short story. Apparently, there are many other programs that use conhost.exe

and it's another companion, csrss, but to find them all would take time and research.

    - Notepad - which I guess you have open.

Taskhost - tasks of four windows running

-Restart Windows can decrease the number of conhost.exe "opened", unless you have the startup programs

loading in the background that use this process

(type - msconfig - in the command run - click in the Configuration of the system at boot).

You can also try from the clean boot and comparing what processes still work in this State.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

  • 2 apparently valid csrss.exe files

I have 2 versions of the csrss. running exe file. I seem to have one different problem than others with this issue. In the Task Manager: show the user as 'System', both under Win32, the two will allow me to complete the process, but I get the BSOD with the two, in the properties they are exactly the same... even the same install date. It uses 1-2 mb while another uses 5-6 mb, shows 0 cpu. Only reason why I checked, is that I have installed a new virus protector that won't start. Their support has called for one is a Trojan horse that weaken their software. Everything else seems OK, no slow downs or software problems. Operating system is Win7 64 bit.

You get a csrss.exe plus one for each connected user. You will also have an another csrss.exe conhost.exe running if you start a command prompt.

  • GuestCustUtil.exe crashes on Windows XP

    Hello

I hope I'm in the right place here, but if not, please could someone redirect me to the right place?

We have been installing vCenter 5.1 and recently updated to update 1. Since then, comments on Windows XP customization fails with the Guestcustutil.exe crashing on instantly. Newspapers do not say a thing to use and the guestcust.log is not yet complete because of the application crashing. The created dump file States it has an incorrect parameter passed and when looking at the parameters passed to the EXE, the command line looks like this:

    C:\Windows\Temp\vmw7.tmp\guestcustutil.exe customize - sealparam "- quiet - mini - reseal - reboot.

Manually by running the same command causes the same result.

Since I was Googling my broad back to this topic, I haven't found something for vCenter 2.5 where the guestcustutil.exe had to be replaced. Would it be something similar here?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

For those interested, I finally found the solution to the question. We use a registry key for the file system on startup to automatic control:

Key: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager and the BootExecutevalue. With this removed, the system can be customized very well.

  • Developer SQL 3.2.20 always invites to indicate the path full java.exe

I installed SQL Developer 3.2.9 to 3.2.20 on my Windows 7 64-bit system. I've updated just like I did earlier. It is "installed" in C:\Program Files (x 86) \sqldeveloper and down there, I have a folder for each version that I installed. sqldeveloper_3.1.07.24, sqldeveloper_3.2.09.30 and now sqldeveloper_3.2.20.09.87.

Now the 3.2.20 new version asks me to enter the path to java.exe whenever I start it. I think that the previous version did this, but only once. This new version does not seem to remember when I choose the path to the java.exe that I use.

Any thoughts on how I can do Developer SQL do not forget where my java.exe?

Open the sqldeveloper/bin directory who settle.

Edit the sqldeveloper.conf file and specify the path.

    Save the file.

Behavior indicates that the SQL Developer is not able to write to this file...
