Where is my star Favorites and history... His party!
I hate Windows 8, btw! My star Favorites and history has just disappeared... where can I find my list of Favorites and history... NOW?
where can I find my list of Favorites and history... NOW?
If you use your keyboard you can make most apparent, the same as ever. For example to show the Favorites Alt - c Center press to show history pinned to the left, press Ctrl-Shift-H. To display the Favorites menu, press Alt - a. So the only difference you will notice is that the Favorites Center is sometimes on the right, for example when something is not pinned to the left.
BTW, your question makes me suspect that you might have left IE mode full screen with the function hide automatically on. In this case, to see the 'Star' you can press Alt - x, Esc, CursorLeft. It changes from white to yellow when I do this.

HI ndaaunhi,
I understand that Firefox profile data loss can be very frustrating, especially when you had the same profile for a while. Unfortunately, if there is no return to the top of the profile, it is not possible to recover. -

Firefox has indicated that he did not have an upgrade. After upgrade, size smaller font, missing bookmarks and history missing. After doing a restore point, are back to normal but the bookmarks and history still missing. DO NOT MAKE the BAD upgrade. New version 3.6
Hi, for only the bookmarks, you can try this: first open the bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore and see if you have a backup there.
Otherwise and to restore both the history, please see.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

I got the hard drive from my old computer and am trying to transfer my old files to it, but I'm not sure where to find the old bookmarks files. It would be wonderful if you could also help to recover the history - I was in the habit of keeping a large number of tabs open and simply restore everytime I restarted my computer, so a lot of data was lost when my computer crashed.
Hello
If the backup files are intact, then you would be able to copy the files required in the backup after installing Firefox and it works at least once in the new PC.
You must copy and overwrite the files needed from the old profile folder in the same folder structure in the new profile. Some important files might be places.sqlite who holds the bookmarks and history, the cert8.db that stores personal and other certificates, signons3.txt + signons.sqlite that stores websites registered names to user/passwords etc. To open the profile folder, in Firefox, help (Alt + H) > troubleshooting information > Open the containing folder and the release of Firefox.

I recently bought a laptop with Windows 8 is installed and the internet explore 10. Pretty funny, but I cannot locate the Favorites and the menu bar. I looked on the forum and they all say that it is located at the top right of the screen where there is a star button. The thing is that there is not a button star here. When I right click on the screen which is displayed at the top of the screen is some "tiles" which Web sites I visited. but I can't find a star button. Could you please help me with this?
Ah... you are using the version of 'metro' IE :)
On start, right-click on the IE icon, then click on PIN to the taskbar. Then click on the desktop and IE open in the taskbar there. This version of Internet Explorer will be more versatile for your daily browsing.

On my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit system, I met worse problems I've had with Firefox (all versions, I tried the oldest and the newest, who currently use 37). One day, I rebooted by computer, and when I started Firefox, it was completely broken. He was not able to load my favorites, TabGroupsManager could not load my recorded session and it crashed when I tried to search Google or visit several Web sites. I couldn't fix it and migrate Pale Moon until exactly the same thing happened there. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled, but now whenever I open it, it's as if it was just installed - no profile information, no Add-ons, no Favorites, absolutely nothing. Application data HAVE folders for profiles that have been opened every time - Firefox does not access and does not recognize that they exist.
I'm totally lost and at the end of my mind. None of the aid or other sites have been any help at all. The problem is exclusive to a single computer - two other computers I've used do not have this problem at all. Help, please!
(Additional note: when I met the first problems of Pale Moon, it gave me an error that it could not access the bookmarks and history because another application has their use.) This error never appeared in Firefox, but given identical patterns of problems and the fact that the pale Moon is based on Firefox, I think it might be relevant).
Well, I think that the problem at least explained that now and patched up right now. I went to a COMPUTER specialist at work and after work things have stabilized.
The computer I'm is a Department that usually connects to a server. The profile data is actually stored via this server, and when I lived the problems, I was at home and that it was not connected to the server said. Normally it is supposed to be a current synchronization that stores things like that to a task on my computer - but for some reason what not really, or at least not properly. That's why I couldn't find a profile.ini file - it was only stored in a place that could not access the computer. After getting to work and do a few random files and other reading, Firefox and Pale Moon are fully functional again, and I can't find the files profile.ini appropriate on the server (they are not yet on my computer, and I don't know how to read locally).
The best solution to the problems 'offline' we had was through a VPN so that I always have access to the server. I would like to get the files on my computer so that I wouldn't have to worry about this, but it's a question that needs to be addressed separately.
Thanks to Seraph for their help in this confusing issue. I have an idea of what to look for if something like this happens again.

I tried many solutions being posted in the support forum. I went and deleted my places.sqlite file so that it has created a new profile. I tried to restore my favorites, and nothing happened.
I went and found out that I had a places.sqlite.corrupt file. As suggested by one of links provided in other articles, I removed the other places.sqlite files and then renamed just corrupt as places.sqlite. I restarted firefox and still nothing. Please do not just copy and paste the links to two articles that helped me not yet. I need to know how to solve this problem, because I had a lot of important information in my favorites!
You should not copy places.sqlite, if you had problems with the history or bookmarks.
You need to restore from a backup bookmarks JSON in the bookmarkbackups folder has all of your bookmarks.

History is not being recorded, either, but I still have my downloads. How can I find my favorites? I've never saved. Thank you.
One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.
