  • Where to find maintenance manual to disassemble the satellite A210-171

    Hi guys.

I'll have a bit of a dilemma with my computer laptop satellite A210-171.
The CPU fan plays up and I need to replace.

The problem is that I'm unable to strip this thing down.
I already have some small studs plastic broken on the Strip above the keyboard, and I now know exactly how to remove the touchpad and the cover.

I use the FRU guide for satellite A210 claiming to also apply to the satellite a210 series, but many of the screws indicated in the guide are not on this laptop.
The position of some components also differ.

I'm not familiar with working with computers and their components, but when it comes to laptops, I feel very uncomfortable when something does not move and I don't see why.

If someone could direct me to the right guide FRU for my model or ome other material of appropriate reference, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Unfortunately, maintenance manuals don't are not downloadable did not find all pages that provide these manuals only manuals that are also pre-installed on Toshiba laptops can be downloaded.
But as far as I know Satellite A210 is the same as Equium A210 so the two series are not very different.

  • How do I uninstall the program "Utilities" since the Satellite A210

How can I uninstall the program "Utilities" since the Satellite A210. In Control Panel I can uninstall the program "Value Package" but not "utilities".

With the A210 I can't work with the FN keys and on a German Toshiba support website I found this information:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0402UR0000R01DE.htm

So I'll try this installation sequence:

    -Chipset utility
    -Display driver
    -Toshiba value added package V1.2.40
-Technical support utility Flash Cards for Satellite L500 (see this thread, why I want to do):
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=46135&TSTART=7
    -V1.0.25.5C Toshiba-Utilities
    and no doubt
    -Installation of V2.00.09 equipment

I hope that the FN keys will work after this installation sequence.

  • BIOS update failed with the Satellite A210-17Z

I was asked by Tempro to update the BIOS of my laptop Satellite A210-17Z.
I agreed but the laptop turns off before completing the update of the BIOS. As a result, I can no longer boot my computer.

Looking for a solution on the internet, I have read that there is a possibility of creating a crisis recovery disk. I tried to do with the Phoenix crisis package, creating a crisis with a disk recovery disk and so on.

When you try to Flash the BIOS and the start-up of the machine, I was pretty convinced to succeed as the system did start reading the disk for about 2 minutes... but nothing happened.

I would like to know if anyone has experience and advice to help me recover my laptop.
I was told that I should try with the original version of the BIOS (the one I got when I bought the computer) but I do not know how to find it because I don't know what version I had at the beginning.

    Hello

To be honest, I think Tempro is the worst app Toshiba :-(that prompts users to update the Bios and after failure of the Bios. In this forum, you can find numerous threads about the failure of the Bios. He recommended to contact the ASP (SAV) to reflash it. You can read and ask other users how to recover the Bios Phoenix:

1 could be an accumulation of dust in the radiator. An FSL can remove it for you, or you can blow with a can of compressed air.
2 power settings? Perhaps the Toshiba Power Saver is set to decrease intensity when loading in the system tray.

  • Sometimes the Satellite A210-16F cannot turn off

I have laptop Toshiba Satellite A210-16F and it won't turn off sometimes.
Happens to the window "Stop", but it wont close and stays like that until what I stopped it manually by holding the POWER button.

What could be a reason for this problem?

Sometimes I can't stop my laptop or closing procedure crashes as impossible to close some of the processes that are running in the background automatically.

In my case, sometimes it software Adobe acrobat reader crashes and I have to manually close this process (in the Task Manager).

In most cases, the operating system cleaning can help I use the program known. CCleaner. It s free and you can clean the system and the registry.
There are also other applications that could do the job so but I m satisfied with this program.

Maybe this will help you too

Duration usual DURATION 30 or 45 minutes

    Please advice
    # Is it a hardware or software problem?
    # Some other face same problem brings advice?

The machine is a year and a half old runs windows vista Basic that comes with it.

I reinstalled the drivers card display also the problem remains same

    Hello

Have you tried an external monitor on the laptop?
If the external monitor works fine, it seems to be a problem of internal display and must be replaced.

You use the factory settings on your laptop computer or you have installed your own version of Windows? Before turning to an authorized service provider, you need to restore factory settings to determine if it s a hardware or software problem. With the factory settings, everything should work fine and if not, I think it s a hardware problem.

  • 32-bit Windows Vista is installed on the Satellite A210 - 10 c 64-bit processor

    Hello

    I bought satellite a210 - 10 c with amd turion 64 X 2 processor, but I determined that I have * 32-bit * windows vista preinstalled. Does anyone know why?
Could I get the 64 bit instead of 32 bit version?

    > have 32-bit windows vista preinstalled. Does anyone know why?

May be due to the fact that all supplied laptops computers Toshiba have pre-installed 32-bit OS.
It s is not serious if it s Windows XP or Win Vista. The two operating systems installed on Toshiba laptops are 32-bit!

    > Could I get the 64 bit instead of 32 bit version?

You can buy a 64 bit Microsoft OS, but you won't get an OS 64 - bit of the Toshiba.

  • Battery discharge also if the Satellite A210-171 is disabled

    Hello

I have an A210-171, but a small problam with the life of the battery on this subject. (di +-ns recon)

If I leave the battery for a few days and do not use the laptop. He empty the battery after about 3 days, he died.
But if I take the battery of the laptop, he holds it loads well.

Any ideas how to stop it. I looked at the forum and checked that Wake on LAN is not enabled.

Hmm, I thought that disabling the WOL option (Wake up on Lan) in the BIOS should help stop the discharge automatically

This is the Toshiba doc that describes this problem:

[Battery draining 15-20% when it is turned off during the night | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB6B01N50013R01.htm]

But as far as I know the BIOS contains other wake-up functions. So try disabling it too!

In addition, you must disable the option "Wake up on LAN" in LAN and WLan card properties!
You can find this setting in device-> LAN card Properties Manager > Advanced tab

  • Why 32-bit Vista has been installed on the Satellite A210-T19

Just got my new laptop Toshiba A210-T19 with processor AMD 64 T57 inside.
    I'm confused.
I have a 64-bit chipset, but the laptop comes with the 32-bit version of Vista. Why?

I expected to be loaded with a 64 bit version of Vista is a 64-bit machine.

    Someone knows why?
Is it possible to get good DVD 64 bit Toshiba I found that it came with a 32-bit backup DVD.

    See you soon.
    Haydn

    I agree with kody.
The point is that most software applications and programs are designed for 32-bit Windows and from my own experience it s advisable to have an OS installed if you use different 3rd professional 32-bit third-party applications.
Of course, you can use and install Win 64 bit OS. But you're own decision.

But to be honest, you won't see a performance gain great using the 64 bit OS

    So I still prefer 32-bit.

    Good bye

  • On the Satellite A210-14 t LCD screen turns black randomly

For several days, I have the problem, my lcd screen turns black all of a sudden, the 'photo' is just disappearing. but the backlight is still and the system is still running (which happens most of the time in battery mode)
When I close the laptop, pc goes into stand-by mode and so I open the pc again and the screen works again
But this isn't really a solution.
What can I do? Fresh grafix drivers are installed.

    BTW:
    I use WinXP

HM, how long do you want the machine. Maybe you should check the powersaver for battery operation parameters when the display is sharp because it can be a characteristic powersaver the screen turns off.

If please check your powersaver settings and set the time when the screen turns off at maximum or turn it off, then check if the error appears again.

Would appreciate the your part feedaback. :)

  • Question about upgrading memory on the Satellite A210-127

    I upgraded my memory form 2 GB (2 x 1 GB) 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) with two modules of memory Kingston KVR667D2S5 / 2G (PC2-5300 CL5).
For two weeks, he had no problems, but then I got the blue screen every time when the system starts making reference to I guss memory error.
I tried to replace the memory with original Toshiba but still blue screen modules. I conctacted service and they say that
It may be the incompatibility of memory, virus or malfunction of the hard drive.
After a few days of work on the solution I reinstal my laptop Toshiba DVD and replace the original brief. Now everything works fine.

I wonder is Kingston memory cause of my problem or somethig else?
Nobody knows is memory Kingston KVR667D2S5 / 2G 2 Gb compatibile with Toshiba?

    Hello

Honestly, the Kingston offers products of high quality and, I think, you are the first person who complains of Rams from Kingston.
If you visit the page Web of Kingston you can find a list of compatible RAM. Your module is listed here?

I was confused, so I phone my granddaughter who said * ' update turned off the laptop, unplug it and remove the battery then replace again - this should put it right! *

What I did and IT WORKED!

Question - what could have caused this make * and * I made the right choice?

    Hi Grandma Sue

    Yes, you did everything right!
I have no idea why the display didn't come in the first step, but it seems that your granddaughter has some experience with laptops.

It would also be my advice to the remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter from the laptop. After a short period of time, you could connect the two parties and could power the laptop.

What you did and it helped

    That s OK
