  Hi there please help me. I didn't have this problem until two days ago when the browser updated itself. I have the youtube video downloader add on and always use it. I'm on a data plan and it used to block videos and add ads which I like, but now is not because of the update, I came back to the old version, but it did not help and I downloaded the flash but block it does not work.   I met the same problem with the version of portable Firefox, I've tried.  I found myself ignoring the record (with the text file) that they have provided and created my own folder 'plugins' alongside firefox executable.

  As to why I went with 10.3 11.4, it was mainly because we added in Flash Player 11.3 protected mode.  While this might work (it didn't on my first attempt), it adds a layer of complexity that I didn't want to face.  If you need some of the new features of 11.x, then you have to play with it to see if you can get this to work.  One thing to try would be to modify the mms.cfg by disabling the protected-mode, however, I do not know if this file is accessible outside your windows\system32\macromed\flash folder.

  There was a discussion on this topic. The solution that many people found useful is:

  1. look for the "FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl" file in the following folders:

  On systems 32 - bits, C:\Windows\system32

  On 64 - bits, C:\Windows\syswow64 systems

  2 delete this file.

  If you do not have permission to remove the same, use a third party application like Unlocker. (http://www.emptyloop.com/unlocker/)

  The latest version of Flash Player should work just fine on your computer.  I don't know what happened when you tried to install it.

  Try the following

  • Download uninstaller http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html FP (save to disk);
  • Download the install (s) http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html FP (save to disk);
  • Close all the browser windows, and then run the uninstall program downloaded, followed to install it (s).

  The forum software does not detect your Flash plugin. Can you check if it's disabled? You can do so here:

  Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Plugins category

  It should be listed as Shockwave Flash. If it is disabled, it is sorted downwards on a gray background.

  To see if the Flash player plugin at its usual location, see this file:

  x:\ I do not think it is a 'valid' for what you intend. I used a 2nd computer and the original disk, I don't remember tho if I used windows file transfer or just copy, but I had the disc copied to the flash drive and reinstalled windows 7. I have still no working dvd rom (x 2) they open and close (sometimes), but the drivers need to be mounted to something incomplete. repair is absent as well. some other problems too but its been executed in this way for months (apx5). here and there, I get an email from answers, that's how I arived here really (enroute) hope this helps (a bit)
