where keep shortcuts

Win 7 which is the best place to keep all the shortcuts from Web sites, programs, etc.   If I say Favorites I can't find there he went into a subfolder of favorites - it is correct that too many shortcuts on the desktop slowly and the computer of the strain

Thank you

I guess that the to-do bar. You can pin programs on it so that you can open them with a single click. Although I'd rather not because only the most used programs appear automaticallyin the Start Menu of itself. But yes, I use the toolbar on pin of some who are not installed. Some Web sites may be pinned to the taskbar in Windows 7 , but I prefer not. I use bookmarks. Most(If Not All) Web browsers have this option. I use Google Chrome , most of the time, and it turns up under the address area.

I'd rather not have a large number of shortcuts on the desktop. It looks a little messy for me. But I do not think that there will be no lag noting the speed for today's computers. But yes, it was a problem with an old PC. Try it and see for yourself how your PC can take without slowing down. This will only effect to Start nothing else if it isn't.

  • Scanning HP solution center shortcuts

    Hello

I've got HP C309a photosmart premium under windows7 64 bit.

I created many of the shortcuts under the "scan documents. It happened in the near past, when I had to rebuild my laptop and so I had to recreate my shortcuts. I need the file name and path where these shortcuts are saved so that I can record and edit as well.  With regard to the Marios.

Thank you very much for your answer. Just excellent! There are correct.

  • Determine the target of the shortcut in the Start Menu

I have shortcuts to folders in my Start Menu.  They seem to be of two different types, judging by their icons, although I don't know what circumstances lead to one type over the other.

The 'good' type have icons that look like a single file.  I can pull up to its properties, the image of a folder appears with a small arrow in the lower left corner and there is a target field showing the trajectory of the target.

The 'bad' type have icons that look like a single file with a preview of the content.  I can pull up the properties, the picture shown is always a file with preview and there isn't * no. * Target field showing the trajectory of the target.

For both types, if I go down the shortcuts, the path in the address bar is not the true path, it's a false path that looks like it branches in the Start Menu (where the shortcut is) i.e. c:\Documents and Settings\Ma.F\Start Menu\TheShortCutName.  Two shortcuts are in folders on a network drive.

    1. How can I get the path of the target for the 'wrong' type of shortcuts?
    2. Is it possible to have the address field display the actual path instead of making it look like the folder is located in the Start Menu?

My mistake.  Records that have not shortened * resident in the Start Menu.  They contain simply other shortcuts or folders of shortcuts.  Answer to the question #1.

So, if I go down the shortcuts, the actual path of the target * is * displayed in the address bar.  Who responds to question #2.

  • Windows continues to move my shortcuts to Word. How can I stop?

I have several Microsoft Word documents, I have access on a regular basis and keep shortcuts for them on my desk so I can access it easily.  Everytime I open one of the documents, however, Windows moves from the shortcut icon on the desktop and put somewhere else.  The only solution that has been suggested for me so far (often quite insulting) is to turn off the auto arrange and align with the grid options.  It was the first thing I tried, however, and it had no effect (as if we were trying to put "don't add space between paragraphs of the same style" as the default value has no effect).

Is there another way to prevent Windows 7 icons every time I open a document?

Windows 7 is not around - Word is.  When you open a Word file, it creates a temporary copy of the file to keep your changes as you make them.  When you press on save, the original file is destroyed and the temporary copy is saved with the same name.  Because the file is literally deleted a new added, the icon disappears and a new appears in the top left of the screen (or the first location of the open icon).

Windows 7 itself cannot prevent this, because he can not keep the position of a file icon which, in fact, did not exist a few seconds ago.
You can store the Word Documents in your Documents folder (or elsewhere) and use only the .lnk desktop shortcuts.  This should prevent the issue because the temporary file is created in the folder.
  • To crush-shortcuts and Favorites

Hmmm. When I try to change the shortcuts hearing CC crashes. A bit ago I tried to add a favorite and the hearing CC would not save. I solved that by removing the Favorites file, while the hearing was open and it created a new file to Favorites when you leave (with all previous Favorites still intact). But can not understand the crash when editing shortcuts problem. Where these shortcuts can be stored?

Yes, uninstall, including deleting the preference files (make a backup first) then reinstall fixed hearing.

  • Cannot change keyboard shortcuts

It drives me crazy that Adobe does not use the standard Mac keyboard shortcuts in their applications for Mac.  I finally got pretty annoyed that I went to correct them in Dreamweaver.  I found the place to set shortcuts, but when I try to replace the end key (for end of line) with Cmd + right nothing happens.  If I got a letter, for example, that the key appears, but it does not seem to recognize Cmd + right arrow as a sequence valid.  Before you try to add that I deleted the shortcut Cmd + right which was associated with "right to speak".

    Hi guys,.

We are aware of this problem and fix this problem for the next update, where keyboard shortcuts would be like

Move the Word left CTRL + LEFT

Move the right word - CTRL + RIGHT

Pass at the beginning of the current line - ALT + LEFT

Move at the end of the current line - ALT + RIGHT

I would like to appereciate so please sign improvement asks https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform to not be able to define keyboard shortcuts unless it includes a character of alpahbetical

  • Desktop icons Windows Vista setting the terms

    Hello

This is a silly question tiny but it's bugging me. I like to keep the shortcut icons on my desktop to allow a quick selection or programs. Recently, I noticed that after a reboot, the icons available is blurred.
I want to do is organize the icons in one, for me, in a logical way and fix then this arrangement as well as reboot icons are arranged in the same way. I searched everywhere but may not know how to do this. I know that this must be possible because this interference is just a recent phenomenon and I know I must have done something to bring.
I thank anyone in advance, can provide assistance with this.

    Use this tutorial:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/save-and-restore-desktop-icon-layout-in-Windows-Vista/

It is the only method that keeps shortcuts and the desktop icons where you want without have moved them or rearranged themselves to restarting.

  • Connection (or not) the entrance to 'type' of function 'variant data?

I noticed (again i) assumed that when I connect an output "Data Variant" connector of a VI or a known type indicator, the thread automatically adopt the correct type. Exports means that I don't have to connect a wire to the 'Type' of the 'variant data?

There are many similar situations where this shortcut does not work. For example, the variant of wiring data function for a bundle by node Name will automatically select the target type of the conversion. I suppose that the index case is a very specific optimization, and this isn't a generally available shortcut.

  • Cannot afford to open a program of recovery from memory card that I just downloaded.

I just download sony memory card recovery software. It has no bugs - I had scanned it. a shield of vista appears on the program icon and I can't open it. I got trapped in a loop to install and uninstall it... but I can't seem to open. help /.

Are you sure you are using the icon to open the program (executable or shortcut) and not on the icon to open the installation program?  Go where you checked to see if it has been installed and select properties to see where the executable program (or you can check in the menu start / all programs where a shortcut to be added).  So, go ahead and click on the executable file to start and see if it works now.

    Good luck!

  • vWorkspace AppPortal Desktop Integration does not start

    Hello

I'm trying to accomplish to publish applications published to the user's desktop / Start Menu on their VDI machines. Inside of a VDI machine, I installed bit vasclient32 and during the installation I checked the box, automatically integrated with Desktop, unfortunately it didn't happen at all. Even the search for AppPortal Desktop Integration inside the VMs VDI but I nothing shows up.

Any help to accomplish this please?

    Kind regards

    Hello

I solved this requirement by the presence of an AppPortal must be installed on the Machine of VDI model as

    • Office of Integrated Mode
    • Do the AppPortal in starting the Machine of model VDI
    • Configure the Connector Configuration in vWorkspace to use the Cache Mode of credentials. (So this will allow the user at the time where as it connected to a Machine of VDI, the AppPortal will launch and ask the interior/exterior configuration.) When the user selects the inside it will automatically connect to the Farm vWorkspace
    • Configure the connector - Office integrated to allow the shortcut on Client
      • Desktop
      • Start menu
      • Start menu / program
    • In each managed Application - under user experience, integrated - Office check you select where the shortcut is available.
      • Desktop
      • Start menu
      • Start menu / program
    • Under the user experience - Select window maximize use vWorkspace transparent window Mode

The idea of this to provide a flawless application to any user especially in the office shared. I do not know this is the way correct to do so, or not, but most important it works which will allow me to reduce the number of VMs of office persistent I need for each user having different types of applications.

It may be useful to others, any point or suggestion / recommendation, please feel free to add.

    Kind regards

  • Windows password recovery disk

I just created my windows password recovery disk in a usb flash drive. A file was generated "userkey.psw". What happens if I save the file somewhere safe and remove the file in the flash player. Later, it will work if I have forgotten my windows password?

    Help, please...

Yes, you can do what you want.  The important thing to remember is that you must place the userkey.psw back in the folder root of any external hard drive in order to to use.  You can move back in position using another computer if necessary.  Where keep you so far is entirely to you.

Consider writing the password in a safe place instead.  A disc of rest password does not reach anything other than writing that can get the password down.

  • How to get all the programs in the Start Menu is displayed as a cascading menu

Is there a legitimate way to get the menu all programs in the Windows 7 Start Menu to display a menu cascading (WinXP style)?

I've seen many references to various malicious programs to download from the internet who hack into the start menu to provide this functionality, but I'm not interested in executing random programs from the internet.

If there is no legitimate way to do this in Windows 7 right now, is it possible to add this in the future Microsoft? The current implementation of menu "scroll of the trees" is really annoying. :-(

    Hi Ghaz78

There is unfortunately no way to do this without using a replacement of the third party.

One of the most popular workarounds must simply turn on the Quick Launch bar. You can put the toolbar QL next to the Start Menu and then copy the folder of programs (all programs) on this toolbar that will give you the cascading effect.

See the post below for the steps to add the QL toolbar.

    Bar to complete tasks

Once this done, go to Start, then right-click all programs , and then selectopen all users. This will take you to the folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start start\program . This is the location where the shortcuts that appear in all the user accounts, theall programs folder.

Copy this folder in: C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Go toStart, all programs right click and select Open. This will take you to the
    Record of C:\Users\your start\program name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start.
This is the folder where shortcuts that appear only in the all programs to your specific user account folder is located.

    Copy this folder in:C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

    Quite.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you for using Windows 7

  • Risks of IE settings: launch programs and dangerous files - enabled for Web Sites

    Hello

Could someone share with me knowledge about security settings in Internet Explorer?

    The parameter name is:

    Launch programs and dangerous files

I wonder what the risks are when this setting is "Enabled" for the Internet zone.

Our client has suffered recently with security warnings when you open a local shortcut. Targets of shortcuts even to local building Windows applications such as Wordpad. And it does not matter where the shortcut is present, whether on office files or local like c:\temp

The security warning is of type: publication could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?

The problem only started after the installation of Internet Explorer 11. Customers with the old version of IE does not suffer from this issue.

We have confirmed two work solutions:

    1. launch programs and potentially dangerous files - enabled for the zone Internet

    2. Add the registry entry:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Associations]

«LowRiskFileTypes "=".avi;.» beats;. com;. cmd;. exe;. htm;. HTML;. lnk;. MPG;. MPEG;. MOV;. MP3;. MSI;. M3U;. rar;. Reg;. txt;. vbs;. WAV;. zip; »

But we would need to know the security risks for the launch of programs and dangerous files - enabled for the Internet zone.

Somehow, I'm not able to find a good article that describes this feature and risk.

Or can you suggest an alternative? Could this be caused also by a patch?

    Thanks in advance
