where windows update download files to install?

I have Windows Update set to automatically download files to install, but not to install actually automatically as it never fails he made them while I'm in the middle of an online game and I'm kicked out the game to restart.

But I am running Windows XP Professional (a Win 7 deleted) which is 32-bit.  Windows Update downloaded IE 8 but it's raw processor; I think that x 82 or x 86.   Since it has not been installed I can not go to the control panel to delete must be found so I can remove it and get rid of the darn yellow exclamation point and pop-up window telling me I have downloads waiting for installation.

Thank you

  • Windows updates store files systems to storage drives

Both at work and at home, some windows updates (most recent xps prntr drvrs and maintenance windows Setup API) save files in places other than the HD systems. At work, that this is of particular concern because we express limited the size of the bootable hd (system disk) in order to reduce the size of image to backup an hour. With the files added to much larger data drives, the concern is if cela will impact features in windows if these files are not too graphic. We do not have the time or storage space to make all these whenever updates away from their appointed readers...

    Thanks, in advance

Windows Update download installers of updates on the drive with the most free space. Try disconnecting all external disks before you download an update.

Alternatively, you can delete the installer manually after the updates were installed.

Windows Update keeps trying to install K2686828 and KB2656369.  Whenever I tells me the installation succeeds only to ask again to update.  I tried the fix - it solutions, and they have not corrected the problem.  Also, I did a virus scan and found nothing.  All my other updates were installed without problem.

This problem is related to the MSI registration information inconsistancies.  I was able to fix by using a cmd "msiexec /i {C09FB3CD-3D0C-3F2D-899A-6A1D67F2073F} ADDLOCAL = ALL/l * v % temp%\repairLog.txt.  At the end of this process, the two installed normally KB and I have now no critical updates in the meantime.  I noticed that article 917964 described a situation where IE would not work if the repairs were made the xp without removal of IE8 or IE 7 first.  My IE 8 works fine.  By 917964, "before you perform a repair of Windows XP installation, you must uninstall Windows Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Internet Explorer 8 of the Windows XP computer.". • Unable to use wireless internet. In addition, my windows update will not be installed.

Original title: extended error code = Oxfof4

I have a couple of different symptoms. My laptop acts like it doesn't even have wireless capabilities although the exact model the same sitting next to her was a strong wireless signal (I still had internet capability on this laptop also). In addition, my windows update will not be installed.  I checked "Event Viewer" in system tools and have all sorts of errors. Error service Control Manager, "Warning b57w2k", code error Windows Update Agent and more. Still, the laptop doesn't move and accesses files, but no internet. I scanned with AVG and Malwarebytes 0 infection. Uugh!  Any suggestions?

Many laptops have a switch that turns on or off the wireless radio.  This can be a physical switch somewhere on the laptop or a combination of the Fn key and one of the F keys.  Read the user manual for the laptop for more details.

The warning includes "b57w2k" seems to be linked to a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller (not wireless, wired).  You can click the copy (just below the up/down arrows) on the property sheet for the event and paste the content in your next post here.

In general, the report that you have 'all kinds of errors' in Event Viewer is not very useful.  We do not understand what you're watching.

Currently Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 x 86 (no patches since 2008). Currently, it has no AV and has not been connected to the internet yet. It will be behind a router.

I had to redo the factory already reset after be connected to the net for 20 minutes and then a bunch of programs kept crashing saying Data Execution Prevention had to close the program StackHash and BEX error when executing update for HP drivers.

Maybe I installed Kaspersky first next time?

    What should I do?

    Thank you!

No problem. Install the updates. You can install the anti-virus later.

Just don't start browsing the inet by updating.
